This is Richard Pryor @ a VERY raw stage of his career! His act seems VERY unpolished, rushed, not sure of himself & just badly written jokes in this dvd performance! He tells jokes that don't come off funny @ all! U can hear very few laughs if that in the crowd. It's a very akward performance. Almost like the crowd doesn't really know who he is!? The dvd says it's one of his 1st performances & their right about that! What's strange about this performance is that alot of the jokes he tells are the same ones he would later go on to knock crowds out with! They were just written & put together so much better later in his career! If your a true Pryor fan then u probably wanna pick this dvd up like I did for $4.99! If your not a die hard u can skip this one!

Pryor in his earliest stand up where he's raw n untamed. Talks about his days growing up in a brothel. See him at his beginnings.

I bought this for my brother for Fathers' Day. We loved watching this and reminiscing about the old days!?! Richard Pryor was a comedic genius. My big brother owned most of his albums when I was a kid and I have seen most of his movies that a kid could watch. Most of his routines were crude and rude and not intended for little ears. Still, I think he was a great comic.

Pryor at his best you just never know what he is going to say. Faces and deliver are what makes him so funny. This guy was a true comic genius and is greatly missed.

You can definitely tell this is one of his earliest stand ups in comedy, good but not his best work

I bought this for my dad for Father's Day. He told me it was not funny at all.
