worthy upgrade
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Jules Dassin was known for making notable American film noirs until he was blacklisted during the McCarthy witch hunts. Our loss was Europe's gain, and the French produced Rififi ended up being his masterpiece! Supplements are the same as the old DVD edition from Criterion, but it's worth upgrading for the HD image improvements, as well as correcting some out of sync audio present on the DVD.

A perfect crime picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.2nd best bank heist sequence ever filmed (Heat surpasses it by a step) as a robbery unfolds in near real time...and the heist itself is wordless. Jules Dassin understood noir and crime as well as Orson Welles. BEAUTIFUL transfer on this Criterion Blu Ray. A must-own.
