This movie has incredible cinematography and great "natural-looking" (not the SyFy computer generated kind) special effects. You are constantly on the edge of your seat. There are no real "jump" attack surprises. It is the use of the camera that builds anticipation and suspense. The movie combines so many sub-genres of horror (and even science fiction for that matter) into a film about the penultimate question in our lives...what happens when we die. There are ghosts and a zombie/vampire interacting with regular people in a supernatural, eerie apartment buidling filled with very peculiar people. The action scenes are mixed with amazing martial arts stunts. The spoken story line is very small so you have to stay engaged to follow along. Simultaneously, there is a second plot running parallel to the main plot about suicide. It definitely makes you think about life after death and what happens at that moment when life ends. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good action/old school horror/science fiction/supernatural movie. The only reason that I did not give it 5 stars is that it is in all English subtitles (unless you can speak Cantonese).

This is a good movie... good action... good acting... visually pleasing... but somewhere along the line it confused me... especially at the end of the movie. I've only watched it once. I may have to watch it again and see if I can follow it better. Overall it is a good movie.

This movie lends itself to early horror/martial arts films. It is a conglomerate of horror genres (ghosts, vampires, etc.). Not particularly scary, but this movie goes beyond Western superficial horror. Excellent cinematography.

This is a solid movie and although a bit predictable, it has some good characters. I am also a fan of Asian movie, so this may appeal more to me. Good video quality.

I honestly had no idea what to expect going into this movie and was pleasantly surprised. It's not for everybody and is very weird, but I enjoyed it.

Movie was pretty good plot and had good special effects. Only negative was the subtitles get annoying to read after a while.

Good ghoast story with a sence of humor and twist on other stories told. Gave to a friend and is enjoying it as well.

Interesting characters and setting make this vampire/ supernatural thriller stand out.

A must watch for people growing up watching Hong Kong's Mr. Vampire movies.

spooky movie with alot of action. only for true martial arts fans

Good action but a bit all over the place. You really have to pay attention to what is going on to try and follow the story. It explains most things slowly. It also counts on the viewer have knowledge of other customs.

Predictable from the beginning. The effects however were good. I would not consider this a horror movie and although the movie was somewhat entertaining I would only recommend this if you have nothing else to watch.

this movie will take you on a joy ride you think you know how this movie will go but just as you think that you will you will be wrong and it take you to another place and just then you think that you have it it is a lot of fun and laughs too

An action ghost saga for the fans of the genre? Wait is there a genre like this? Not till now I guess. The movie was good. Fighting scenes were well choreographed. Fun movie to watch.

This is one of the most scariest, creepiest, and horrifying movie I'd seen in a long time.

It is an interesting movie if you can get through the slow parts and the language dubbing.
