Love the ring alarm! Initially got the alarm system to make me feel more safe when my husband works overnights and we just love it all together!

I'll start by saying that technically this works as an alarm. Why it has to be its own router to push all your home's WiFi devices through I will never know. I got past this requirement by setting it up in bridge mode as a secondary router and splitting the alarm system and all my smart home devices, including Ring cameras, off onto a 2.4 ghz band isolated network basically functioning as a separate VLAN and kept all my internet traffic and Windows based devices and TVs on my main router at 5 ghz. All that being said, I am an IT professional and the average buyer could not and should not be expected to go through all this. As laid out in the Eero's instructions the user is expected to route everything through it (capped at 300 mbps btw) and get rid of their existing router, relying on the alarm to support their LAN. Not ideal, especially if, like me, you work from home and pay extra for gig speed internet. Just a bad design and an example of a company trying to put you on rails to rely on them alone. My home already had an existing Ring integration when I purchased it, which I built off of and expanded, which is why I went through all this, but if you are starting from scratch I would recommend another alarm solution that doesn't require the average customer to put so much faith in the hands of Ring/Eero/Amazon.

We just moved into our new build home and this was one of the first items I purchased for it. It was easy to install and pretty straightforward with the app.
The only thing you have to know is if you have pets, like i do (4 dogs) do not install the motion sensor. Even on the lowest setting meant for houses with dogs, your alarm will keep going off the entire day when dogs pass by it. It's just best to not put it at all. Other than that the product is great.
