Good but missing some essential features

I replaced my old security with this system since I heard good reviews from my friends. I have ring protect pro plan as well. Give me plenty of options that other leading providers in security system, which is a plus. Here are the features that I think are missing or need to provided. 1. My sound on the keypad is loudest but this is still not loud during announcements when its arming, etc 2. The ring app doesn't have any security by default which I think is wrong for a security app. It has to have a pin to open or at least use faceid. 3. I was already an Eero user so having the Alarm pro come with a Eero router was a good plus initially but then I realized that just a week after Eero came in with Eero 6+. Now I will have 6 and 6+ so some features or reason why I went to 6+ is not fully achievable. Also not sure how they will stagger these releases. The ring alarm pro was attractive with also the 3GB of free back up internet. 4.Biggest problem, due to some power issues, I lost internet connectivity, great to have a back but it runs out fast. This is because by default all devices will be auto-on for backup usage. I wish there was a toggle for all on and off, then we can go and edit the ones that we need, etc 5. I went through the trouble of doing this one device at a time for 70 devices. 6. The next time when internet went down and came back up within a few mins and I have restarted the modem, etc Ring Alarm Pro doesn't automatically connect detect it and start using my ISP internet. I have waited for minutes to hours and it does not work automatically. I had to use the pin hole and restart and only then it connects.

    Decent Alarm

everything was easy to install. my only complaint with the system is that the built in Eero mesh router doesn't seem to have as good a distance as the xfinity supplied router xb7 with my ring doorbell 4. both routers in the same spot and the xb7 gets rssi -48. this Eero built in router on the ring is to weak to use. it only gets rssi - 75 and in the app it says its to week a signal. i think it might be because my ring doorbell 4 has 2.4 and 5 ghz. and the Eero mesh router does not let you pick so its defaulting on 5 ghz that does not go as far as 2.4 ghz. I have 2 ring stickup cams battery that only use 2.4 ghz so the ring router is getting a good signal on those even though there farther away then the doorbell. the doorbell is only 250 feet from the router. If i decide to pay for the ring protect pro service i would not be able to have cellular backup on the doorbell as i have to leave that on the xb7. not really interested in paying 90 more bucks on a Eero wifi extender when the xfinity xb7 router gives a good signal to it. I'm hoping that maybe a update to the Eero router might fix this issue. other then that i like everything else about this alarm system. I do wish that ring would have another service plan just for the cellular backup without the professional monitoring service for people that want to self monitor it.

Super easy to install and offers a little extra piece of mind, especially with some extra add-ons like the Spotlight cameras, it is a great way to add security to your home without having to go through exceptionally costly services. Right now, I have mostly WIFI devices with rechargeable batteries as addons but they offer solar panels to power the cameras and such. They were so easy to install I did my entire setup in under an hour before my husband went on a vacation, as an addition to my other home/personal protection "devices". Ring offers a great low cost monitoring program as well so that the police are notified or other services if you specify that you need fire/medical help with the panic button.

Love it so far. Had it for a few months working very well. The alarm app syncs with your cameras integrated very well with your cameras. It was easy to install easy to set up, I am grandfathered into rings alarms system, so the value is tremendously great for me. I had it for a few months now. Alarms starting to have a lot of confidence in it. Looking to add a few more other accessories to it. Overall very great alarm system in my opinion.

The entire install took me about 25 minutes to get it all setup and updated. Only issue was one of the door sensors was already activated and was marked as "tampered" while setting it up in the app so had to go and open it and hold the reset button while putting the batteries back in it to get it to work properly, other than that it was a simple and fast install. Plenty customization with what sounds you hear when you are in certain modes (away, home & armed, away & armed). Wonderful unit and a great pickup.

Love this alarm system! Needed a quick solution to secure my office and about 10 minutes later, this provided the best solution! I really love how easy it is to use, how easy was to set up, and how it makes me feel like I have the upper hand against any criminals. So far so good I would recommend to anybody looking for a Quick security system!

We had a wired home security system on top of which xfinity home security system was installed with professional monitoring. We were able to transfer the whole system with ease/DIY to Ring using their Pro version (with Eero and cellular back up) and retrofit kit. We were also able to plug in the key alarm pad directly at the location of the previously wired panel using a 12v converter from amazon.

    Clunky setup, weird requirements

I'll start by saying that technically this works as an alarm. Why it has to be its own router to push all your home's WiFi devices through I will never know. I got past this requirement by setting it up in bridge mode as a secondary router and splitting the alarm system and all my smart home devices, including Ring cameras, off onto a 2.4 ghz band isolated network basically functioning as a separate VLAN and kept all my internet traffic and Windows based devices and TVs on my main router at 5 ghz. All that being said, I am an IT professional and the average buyer could not and should not be expected to go through all this. As laid out in the Eero's instructions the user is expected to route everything through it (capped at 300 mbps btw) and get rid of their existing router, relying on the alarm to support their LAN. Not ideal, especially if, like me, you work from home and pay extra for gig speed internet. Just a bad design and an example of a company trying to put you on rails to rely on them alone. My home already had an existing Ring integration when I purchased it, which I built off of and expanded, which is why I went through all this, but if you are starting from scratch I would recommend another alarm solution that doesn't require the average customer to put so much faith in the hands of Ring/Eero/Amazon.

We just moved into our new build home and this was one of the first items I purchased for it. It was easy to install and pretty straightforward with the app. The only thing you have to know is if you have pets, like i do (4 dogs) do not install the motion sensor. Even on the lowest setting meant for houses with dogs, your alarm will keep going off the entire day when dogs pass by it. It's just best to not put it at all. Other than that the product is great.

This is a pretty good little system. It was easy to install and seems to work well. When the power went out it still worked for a little while (and it could work even longer with some additional battery backup). It is also easy to use.

The installation of the hardware is simple and the configuration of the system is easy and well explained. The security system itself works smoothly and without a single error so far. It is possible to adjust a bunch of settings to make sure it works the way you want. Even without electricity, the system is still working well. It seems totally reliable.

So far, so good. Easy to install, easy to operate. We have the Ring cameras too, so this just compliments it. The best feature is that you can go out the door and set it after you are in the car. And, you can cut it off before you get in the house, especially if your hands are full of groceries!

The hardware itself works flawlessly I was able to add over 15 sensors not sure how much I can hold bit it feels like a lot Also the ease of using the app is very user-friendly I just wish Ring will allow you to use the SD storage for free instead of including it in the subscription But either which will you look at it you’re gonna get the subscription

    Ring Alarm Pro

We were looking for a DIY home security system and also looking to update and expand our WiFi system. The Ring Alarm Pro appeared to be an all-in-one efficient bundled solution and to facilitate we purchased two (2) more eero 6 routers to ensure coverage and speed of service. The actual Ring alarm system, operation, ease of use, and features was as expected. The eero 6 mesh wifi system was terrible. As some online consumer and tech reviews indicate, eero 6 was very slow and inconsistent, did not assign devices very well between 2.4 and 5. Constant buffering and lagging at any range, including my desk 10ft form the router and hard wired situations. Again, our eero 6 system was 'extended' with wired routers, not the wireless extenders that cut your service by 50%. The system set-up was verified with an eero agent. The eero 6 system was for sure not as expected even with some tolerance and was returned. We did consider keeping the Ring Alarm Pro for a few features that it has over the Ring Alarm, but they were not necessary for us. Returned all components, purchased the Ring Alarm Gen 2 with another brand of mesh system (albeit more expensive...) and now have the extended range and service we were looking to achieve. Still gave it a 3 stars as the the alarm system and features were as expected. The integrated eero 6 system was disappointing. A Ring Alarm Pro without the eero 6 would be great....

The system seems to work great just one issue with one of the door sensors around the door molding, so will need tech support to return and fix the issue. I was disappointed that I thought the pro monitoring service l was $10 per month when I purchased last month to learn its increased to $20 per month and you also need to get a permit from the fire dept. and police dept. and these are things I did not know before purchasing.

At Ring, we work hard to be completely transparent in both our products, and the optional services in which we provide. In some areas, local laws require homeowners to get a permit or registration for all home alarms with Alarm Professional Monitoring. You can call your local police department, town hall, or municipal offices to find out about laws in your neighborhood. Ring Alarm Professional Monitoring offers two simple subscription choices. You can choose a monthly plan for $19.99, or save money with an annual plan for $199.99.
