The 4x zoom and Retinal 2K resolution provide a very clear picture. I specifically like the Low-Light Sight feature for maintaining color in the dark. Great for keeping an eye on the apartment.

Great camera motion works great definitely a great buy

Adding new Ring cameras to an existing Ring ecosystem is always nice and simple, Ring has the process down! This is the new Ring Indoor Cam Plus, it's a plug in camera designed to be used, as you guessed it, indoors. I have this one set up in our living room and is replacing a competitors camera that we've used for about 10 years. What drew me to this is the increased 2K resolution of the camera for better image capturing, better video quality and overall piece of mind. Coupled with this are real time notifications* and low-light sight as well. *the real time notifications were a little slow upon set up, but they did get better the more the camera was used and worked better when I was actually away from home, bizarrely enough! As mentioned, set up was easy, you can scan the QR code on the back from the Ring app, and if you have a Ring Chime (which we do - but you do not need to have in order to use this camera), it connected to that right away. Voice prompts along the way from both the Ring Camera and the Ring Chime made it really straight forward out of the box. Now as soon as it's all set up and connected, there will be a software update to install. This takes another minute or two, not intolerable. From there, you can go into the app and use live view to help position your camera. There are mounting instructions within the app to aid with installation, if you are not placing it on a ledge, shelf or furniture. I have this one set up on the fireplace for now, as the power cord was not long enough for me to reach the ideal location that I want it in relation to a power source, so I will need to order a longer power cable. Live view initially had some lag in it, I wasn't that far away from my router in all honesty, but a couple of times, the lag was 8-10 seconds when timed. This got better and better the more I used it, but I hadn't experienced that lag with the other Ring cameras I have in my ecosystem. The image quality is really nice, being able to zoom in further (4x zoom) and maintaining a nice crisp image is great. And the low light visibility is good as well, especially when you may have just some accent lights on in your house, making visibility for other cameras challenging. This camera performed well in lower light for me. The visuals are color, and not the 'ghost grey' looking color of older models. Motion detection works very well indeed, and notifications were prompt when it happened. You can adjust the motion detection areas within the app, so if you have a high traffic area, you can map that out of the view to lower you notification frequency, if desired. Live view is always great, it's nice to check in remotely, if you are away or just out for the evening, you can check in on pets, family members, or just the house in general, to check if you left lights on etc. Two way talk has been a feature of Ring cameras and I feel like it's gotten better with each generation. I know my Ring doorbell camera which is about 10 years old, sometimes it's hard to understand what someone is saying, but with this new Ring Indoor Cam Plus, the voices are a lot clearer through the small speaker. And for those times that you don't want to have the camera running, there is a shutter that slides over the front of the camera to block its sight and maintain your privacy, very handy indeed, however, it doesn't have a smooth action and came off in my hand when I first slid it across. I have since finessed my approach to closing it over. If you subscribe to the Ring subscription (we do) you can have additional storage and ability to save and share your video history. This is convenient for capturing moment that are longer than one week out from happening. That subscription also allows you to have more cameras in your ecosystem as well, so it's definitely worth it. Overall, the Ring Indoor Cam Plus is a great addition to a Ring camera set up or a wonderful first step into the Ring camera world! With stunning 2K resolution, color images in near-dark conditions and a really easy to use set up and interface, it makes it a no brainer to check out!

We already have the Ring cam system in and around the house; stick up cams and a doorbell, so this was just an addition to the mix. Last summer we went out of town for four days and I thought I could just use a regular Ring stick up cam and place it near my cat’s food area to see how she was doing. Well it didn’t work, it was probably just me and I didn’t set it up correctly. The camera never detected a pet. So this cam works for the “cat food” area and it’s pretty neat. I see the cat’s glowing eyeballs first and then see her walking up to her food area, so it works for me. This Indoor Cam Plus has a privacy shield, so if you don’t want it recording, just close it. I set up this cam so it doesn’t pick up audio. I might just use this indoor cam for when we go out of town, and then I would turn the audio on. You can install it with the included hardware or it can just stand on the footed base of the cam. The cord is approximately 72” long, and there is a wall plug included. The cord is a USB-C to USB-A cord, so my guess is that you could probably swap it for a different length cord if you needed to. Setup was fairly simple, as I had already set up the other cams on my system. The voice prompts are loud, and I don’t think that volume can be controlled, but it’s just for setting it up. You can control how sensitive the camera is, like how much it picks up. You can also adjust the area where you want the camera to capture video. It is fairly simple to change most things on the app but sometimes just have to search a bit. The video quality is sharp and the videos of what is actually nighttime dark look like regular daytime. This is Alexa enabled, but I don’t utilize that technology.

The Ring Indoor Cam Plus was our first indoor camera - besides the one for the animals. The first time I used it was to watch the neighbors who came in to let our dogs out while we were working. This camera has Retinal 2K for enhanced video quality, 4x zoom, and low-light Sight for color in near dark. It was so simple to set up and add to my Ring app. I literally had it set up in minutes - which was great for me because I was in a hurry when I decided to set it up. The picture quality is terrific. It allows you to zoom in up to 4x which comes in handy when trying to figure out what is going on at times. The 3D Motion detection gives you real-time alerts on your phone. You can view and talk live just like the doorbell camera. Plus it has a removable lens cover that lets you slide to cover the camera. Just note that the microphone stays on even when the lens is covered. It has a feature that you can turn on to let people know they are being recorded. It lets you set your motion zones and sensitivity. Plus you can set what alerts you want to get (like no alerts every time the dogs walk by). Plus you can set motion schedules for certain times and days. It is a great indoor camera to add to your Ring family!

PROS + image quality is good, even in low lighting conditions + neat features (almost all paywalled) + build quality feels decent + wide FOV + two-way talk works well for the most part CONS - all the neat, useful features are paywalled - the subscription cost can get pretty steep if you want ALL the more advanced features - live feed quality can dip pretty low sometimes - can't integrate with other smart home systems (HomeKit, Google Home). Only Alexa or the Ring app itself This is my first-ever Ring device, but I'm not new to security cameras! The Ring started with a good impression, the unboxing was pleasant and came with no plastic (yes!), and was relatively painless to set up (double yes!), though I did feel there were a lot of screens to get through. The camera itself is sleek-looking and very much unmistakably a security camera, which is great since you don't want to freak out guests or company out by secretly recording them. It comes with a little base that has a good amount of tilt and rotation and has a surprisingly wide field of view, at least compared to the cameras I've been using, so you really can get a strong sense of what is happening in a larger space like a living room. It's also a little bit larger than I expected, but not bulky or clunky-feeling at all. Moving on, the app is easy to navigate, and the event timeline feature is quite intuitive. I find it easier than the Blink camera ecosystem's way of handling video feeds. I appreciated that notifications were usually quite quick, though not instant, and that there were some pleasant features sprinkled throughout the app: AI scene descriptions (usually hit-or-miss, but generally accurate in a broad sense) and the "Neighbors" community feed (where your neighbors can share clips related to broad categories like lost and found pets or crime alerts — it's a bit like Nextdoor but only for video clips from Ring cameras) are the main ones that are useful. However, the AI scene descriptions can sometimes be hilariously inaccurate, and if you rely on them to get a sense of a clip, you may end up missing some important information. As an example, it labeled a clip of both of my cats running across the room as "A white cat is walking in the room" and labeled another clip of just one of my cats as a person, which may be because of the TV confusing it. Again, neat feature and broadly useful, but not enough so to discount actually checking clips manually. It seems to do better with people, however, and can consistently label activities like a person walking across the room. Onto the camera itself, the image quality is sharp enough to clearly read faces and detail, and beats my older 1080 Blink minis by a wide margin. I will admit that the "2k" marketing did set my expectations perhaps a tad unreasonably high, but I still find that the image quality is more than most people will need for an indoor security camera and sufficient even when zooming in on details. It works fine in low light and dark conditions as well. The speaker is also very loud and clear enough to talk through (it is actually a bit too loud on setup and even spooked me at first), and I appreciate that recordings include audio from both ends of the two-way talk feature. If you have pets, kids, or other family members you might want to talk to through the camera, this is a great feature and works quite well. I only noticed very occasional issues with audio dropping out. The biggest downside here is the subscription model. Almost every useful feature, including accessing the video event history in the timeline, is behind a paywall. You get a 30-day free trial, which you can't even manage in the app (likely to skirt app store fees, which is inconvenient but whatever), and after that you need to pay at least $4.99 a month to access the "basic" plan, which includes said event history. If you want local storage, you will have to buy the Ring Alarm Pro base station ($250), a microSD card, and *still* pay a subscription to use the dang thing. You will never "break even" on subscription fees, even if you opt for local storage. With my (cheaper, and admittedly crappier) Blink Minis, I had to shell out $50 for the sync module and $15 for the storage drive, but it took me under two years to "break even" on subscription fees. You will literally pay nearly the cost of a new camera every year in the *lowest* subscription tier model for the Ring, and that doesn't even include all the fancier features like AI scene descriptions, extended live view, or smart video search (some of which are only available in the highest tier, which is a whopping $19.99/month). Another downside is that the Ring camera does not play nicely with other ecosystems. I use an iPhone and would like to control and access the camera in HomeKit, but unfortunately, unless you use third-party apps like Homebridge, there is no way to do so right now. You can technically add the Ring camera to Google Home, but you can't do much with it at all, and you can't even access live video feeds through a Nest Hub. You're basically locked into the Amazon/Alexa ecosystem or the Ring app itself, which isn't a huge downer but is a bit annoying for anyone wanting a device that could integrate into their existing ecosystem. Lastly, live view quality was sometimes a bit of a letdown. Shockingly so, in fact. I have a gigabit connection, and even on the same connection, sitting in the same room not more than fifteen feet away, the stream would occasionally drop to a low resolution with choppy, laggy playback, worse than I've ever seen on my older cameras on lower bandwidth connections. It does usually even out on its own, but it is not what I expect for the price point. Overall, this camera does a lot well. It has good image quality, the alerts are helpful and informative (if you've ever had a camera that alerts you of every single movement with "Movement detected in X room" and nothing else, you can imagine how nice it is to get actual descriptions of what the recording might show!), it has a decent two-way audioi experience, and some useful features on top of it all. But needing a subscription for what I genuinely feel is a more basic function — and what's worse, preventing a reasonably affordable way to use local storage for this camera without a subscription — is one of the biggest drawbacks of this camera and detracts from its value significantly, especially compared to more value-oriented competitors (like Wyze). If you're already in the Ring/Alexa ecosystem or don't mind the subscription fee, which admittedly is not that high at its basic level, then this is honestly not a bad pick. I really do like using it, and it works generally quite well. However, if you aren't in the ecosystem and prefer to avoid Amazon/Alexa, if you are rabidly anti-SAAS, if you are looking for something more value-oriented, if you care about specific features that are paywalled and aren't willing to pay, this is not the right pick for you.

This Ring Indoor Cam Plus is a top of the line indoor security camera that is part of the Ring security camera line. It is for indoor use only. It has Retinal Vision 2K and Low Light Sight, making it one of the best indoor security cameras for home use. In the box you get the Ring Indoor Cam Plus, mounting hardware, user manual, sticker Setup is easy through the Ring Application that you download through your smartphone’s application store. It is compatible with both Android and iOS smartphones. There is a removable lens cover that you can use when you want your privacy. You can keep it on when you are at home and take it off when you are away from home. It is manual, so you will need to physically move it to the front to cover the lens and move it to the side to remove it from the lens. This is a feature that I love and hate at the same time. I keep forgetting to move it when I leave the house. Zoom on this indoor camera is 4x, which is great for indoors. You can zoom in on a person's face, or an object on someone’s hand if you choose. I love the real time notifications that you can customize and setup in the application. You can also set up zones as well. The picture and resolution on this camera are fantastic. I love how detailed the pictures and videos are coming out. I also like how you can use the AI features to search the videos using keywords. Live view real-time two-way audio and video are great. They work exceptionally well. There is no feedback on the speakers on the camera or on the device you are using to talk to the camera. The motion detection is customizable as well. If it is sending too many alerts, adjust it in the Ring application and change the sensitivity. I really like this indoor camera as it goes well with my Ring Outdoor Camera. The application lets you link Ring cameras together, which is a huge plus. Summary: this is a stately home security indoor camera that works very well.

The Ring Indoor Cam Plus, plug-in, retinal 2K, low-light sight security camera is a very small but mighty piece of home security. It measures 1.96"w x 3.78"h x 1.96"d and weighs 0.18 lbs. It is plug-in only, so be sure to place it where it can remain plugged in. Setup was quick and easy after downloading the Ring app. It took me through step by step and after that, I was ready to setup my preferences. There are so many settings for this cam - the most important to me are the video settings. You are able to record 24/7 or record based on motion (my choice). Then you can choose which events would trigger an action. Surprisingly, the smart alerts are only able to differentiate between people, vehicles and other motion. There is no option for pets/animals, which would have been my choice. You can choose recordings, alerts or both for each of those. You are able to set the length of recordings - up to 120 seconds and you choose the quality for recording - 1080p or 2K. That is only a sample of what you can do with this. You can monitor your cam via Live View through the app - observe when you want to. It does record when in Live View and I haven't found a setting to stop that, but it is easy to delete recordings if you want to. You are able to chat back and forth or set off an alarm in Live View. A really cool feature is having the AI automatically caption the videos to give a description of what happened. For me, this has been amazingly accurate and saves me the time of having to look at a video that doesn't show what I'm looking for. This is 2K and that makes for very clear video - especially since this is an indoor camera. This camera works well even in low to no light situations. With low-light, the video is still in color, but with no light, it is B&W, but still quite clear. That is fantastic for me as I got this to monitor my fur babies (cat x 2). They have a room just for them where they have their litter boxes and I wanted to see which one did what and where. This Ring Cam does that for me - even when it's dark. Very important to note, without a subscription to the Ring service, you are only able to get Live View, get motion notifications and two-way talk I believe. It is difficult for me to know at this time specifically what you get because it automatically sets you up on a trial plan for 30 days when you get the device set up. Customer service informed me that I am unable to cancel the trial plan. So it is difficult to assess if I will need the plan or not after the trial. I am fairly certain though that recording videos will not be allowed. This is actually a pet peeve of mine. Why can't more companies make their cameras with a micro SD slot so that videos could be stored locally? Then cloud storage wouldn't be necessary and we wouldn't have to pay for it. The Ring Indoor Cam Plus, plug-in, retinal 2K, low-light sight security camera though small, provides good camera coverage for a room and more. It has an ample field of view at 115° horizontal and 60° vertical and viewing/recording quality is good at 2K. With a paid subscription, there are many options/settings to personalize, but very few without. I would recommend this camera for its quality.

The Ring Indoor Cam Plus is a nice addition to your home security efforts. The video quality is exceptional and the Ring app controls add more to the picture (no pun intended) as well. I have a couple of other cameras from competitors and each of them come with their own pluses and minuses. From a size standpoint, this camera is on par with most in total height. Others have a smaller camera, but a bigger base or vice versa. For me, this is being used in tabletop mode so it doesn’t matter as much. If you are mounting it, you might want something with a smaller base camera unit. Regardless, it just depends on your preference or use. For video quality, I have the Ring Indoor Camera Plus better than those others with its 2K quality. The clarity in video and zoom are nicer. I wouldn’t say it’s perfect, but it’s definitely crisp. The zoom is a good selling point over the others, but it’s not as phenomenal as the product suggests. I was able to see things clearer than I could with the competitors though. The top selling point is probably that Color Night Vision. I am a big fan of that over an over-brightened black-n-white that the others provide. When it comes to the app and functionality, I am in-between here. The Ring inclusion of my doorbell and this camera is nice. I like having the modes and being able to schedule them as well. I just wish there was an option to create another mode to connect to this camera. With some others, I am able to create a nighttime routine without changing from “Home” to “Away” to do so. Something like an Arm/Disarm would be preferred there. That’s just my personal opinion though. Of course, there are some additional pieces that are nice as well. The Lens Cover, Privacy Zones, and that compatibility with Alexa are great. I love pairing mine with my Echo devices for alerts so that I can get everything regardless of what room I am in. All in all, I think this is a great slightly above mid camera for the price. Could you do better? Sure, but it’s going to cost you more.

I've had multiple other cameras/doorbells/etc. but this is actually my first Ring product. Let's start with the good: unboxing and setup was really easy. The software side of it was flawless, which is something I can't say for others. Creating an account, walking through the app's setup steps, and connecting it to my IoT network took just a matter of a few minutes. The included privacy shield took me a moment to get situated correctly--I was afraid of damaging the top button--but works great and is a thoughtful addition. You can use it as is with the included stand (and it can pivot around for greater stability if aiming upwards) or you can mount it with the included parts. I use mine on a shelf aimed at my basement door internally. Video quality was surprisingly decent, a testament I suppose to how good small camera modules have become. The internal speaker is also punchier in volume than I'd have expected, and the USB power cord is thankfully long enough to be useful. I do like that app allows you to disable audio for privacy, and it also gives you neighborhood notifications from other Ring users. (I do hope that dog gets found!) So what's the bad? To get the full features you have to get a subscription. You get 30-days free, but then you get a monthly fee for a lot of useful functionality. And that's the question you ultimately have to ask yourself--is it worth it to you? Do you have other Ring devices, or are you heavily into the Alexa ecosystem? If so, this is a great addition for internal security. And that's it--the app is nice, but tied to that subscription, and the hardware is excellent, but is tied to it as well.

I have several generations of Ring indoor cameras in my house and the latest indoor camera plus 2k is amazing and worth the hype. Super easy to set up and all done through the Ring app. You do need a Ring subscription and works best if you're already invested in the Ring ecosystem. This camera does need to be installed near an outlet and comes with a privacy cover. What wows me the most about this latest generation is the high resolution 2k resolution and the night time performance. I can pinch to zoom with tons of detail, day or night. If you’re new to the Ring camera universe, you can record every second if you want to pay for the premium plan or the standard plan that records when motion is detected. Premium plans includes AI features too where you can get push notifications on video descriptions on what triggered the motion. In summary, super easy to setup and if you’re already in the Ring ecosystem, this latest 2k indoor camera is a no brainer. Do note that you will need a subscription to use this camera and has no slot for mini-SD cards.

The Ring indoor cam plus is a nice inexpensive camera to monitor activity in your home. This is my first Ring device and besides the fact you have to have a subscription to get the full benefits it’s a good option. The biggest thing that I like is the fact it includes a privacy shade. This has always been one of the biggest reasons I haven’t used a camera on the inside of my house is privacy concerns. The physical shade allows you to use this only when you want to and don’t have to worry if the camera was to get hacked. The setup process was easy with the Ring app and I do like the community feature that you get with Ring. It’s almost like a social network, where you can see or report different things from crime issues, missing animal or other things. I’m using this primarily to monitor pets when I’m not at home so the quality is more than sufficient. My biggest issue is the requirement for a subscription to get the full benefit of the camera. It would be nice to have the option for adding a micro sd card if you wanted to self monitor and view video later instead of only being able to view the live stream without a subscription. It’s an overall good camera if you’re already in the Ring ecosystem or don’t mind a subscription.

I picked out the Ring Indoor Cam Plus for its Retinal 2K video quality and enhanced night vision capabilities to replace my aging Arlo camera to use as a doggy crate cam/base of our stairs motion camera for when we're all gone (dog included). We already have a Ring Doorbell 4, Alarm Pro, sensors, keypads, basically everything is Ring except the existing dog crate camera. The biggest draw was obviously to be able to check in on our fur girl while we're at work in the same app as the rest of our Ring system, same that her dog walkers use to enter via the Ring Alarm Pro. The box contains everything you need to get started, whether you're setting the camera up on a counter, table, mounting to a wall with the included screws, or just using the included privacy shield to hold the camera in the corner of a dog crate to get the perfect angle to watch your precious rescue snooze while you work to afford her more toys and treats. Setup was incredibly easy; you open the Ring app, log in or create an account (or just open it), and select "Add device" or + to begin the setup process. The app walks you through the rest! The only slightly frustrating part is that QR code on the Indoor Cam Plus is small and can be difficult to get in focus through the app, but you can also scan the card in the box... a trick I had forgotten until my significant other reminded that we did that with our door & window contact sensors! Overall, I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking to add a highly flexible indoor camera with great video quality that doesn't take up too much storage (like 4K does) and can be kicked down to 1080P if you need to store an extended period of video, it's also an excellent first step into the Ring system of devices! The combination of easy setup, convenient app, and being flexible in how you can place & use it throughout the inside of your home is amazing for this price! The privacy shield is VERY obvious when it's in use for video, but that's a good thing, you just can't enable it remotely like some other cameras can (but you also can't disable it remotely for added peace of mind when in place). It's a great camera!

I have multiple Ring Indoor cameras installed around my house for security, as well as to keep an eye on two mischievous cats, especially during nighttime. This setup ensures I always know who caused any trouble. Recently, I received the Retinal 2K camera with 4X Zoom, which was very easy to connect to my 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and integrate with the Ring app. We subscribe to the annual Home Standard plan, and Ring now offers a Home Premium option that includes an SOS button and emergency Dispatch service. Currently, we’re trialing the 30-day free version of this premium plan, but since we already have a monitored security system, we probably won’t keep it. I would definitely recommend purchasing one of these plans, as they allow unlimited camera connections and provide recorded video and audio playback for each device, plus other really nice perks. I installed this white camera in my living room so it could capture any movement outside the large wall of windows and patio door there. The living room is located at the back of the house, giving the camera a view of another entry door to my home office as well as the patio entrance. During the day when I'm home, I usually keep the privacy shutter closed, but I open it when I leave or at night. The images and live footage are remarkably clear, both day and night, and the audio quality is excellent. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this Ring camera and can highly recommend it. They all are definitely worth the investment, and adding a subscription plan is an added benefit, at least in my experience. These Ring products are truly top-notch!

Like many others, I've been a long time user of the Ring line of products. Every gen you may notice some minor improvements, and that's pretty consistent with this 2k Indoor Cam Plus model. I've included images as comparison In case you're not familiar, this line of products can be used with or without subscription, so be aware there are some features that are subscription only. It comes with the same great out of the box experience, plug, software, add device (then add to your already existing system or to start a new system). Runs through a quick diagnostic and self updates. Very easy. If you want to mount it, there's even a quick video to show you how to mount it. Great We already know this from previous gen, the software is the same, same great features, easy to use interface, arm/home/away arming system, works instantly with your Amazon/Alexa ecosystem (see image), voice controlled, great. I think the selling point is the image. I don't know if I can justify and upgrade. If you already have last gen Ring, I have included screen shots of those and have it compared with the new gen, its near identical. I think there is a slight improvement in night, some details that were previously blurry are a bit more visible now, and slightly faster response? I'm not able to quantify that, as the difference may just be due to internet delay, but overall feels ever so slightly faster. TLDR; if you already have a system, don't replace every camera. If you're in the market to add a camera to your system, no reason to go with the older camera, the new one is slightly better. See attached photos. Would recommend

I purchased this camera so I could keep an eye on my cat while I’m at work, and it has worked great for what I need. Setup was simple, the connection has been reliable, and I haven’t experienced any connectivity issues. The video quality is exactly what I expected for the price and allows me to check in on my pet throughout the day with no problems. Overall, I’m very happy with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a dependable indoor camera for basic home or pet monitoring.

Easy to set up, has great resolution including night vision. The alerts are very helpful. It identifies verbally what it sees and you can set off a siren if you want to. You can set the alerts to different settings depending on what you want to be notified about. There is a subscription for recording if you wish, but the camera still works it just won't record after about 2 days. The subscription cost seems quite reasonable

I’ve been very impressed with the Ring Indoor Cam Plus. The Retinal 2K video quality is noticeably sharper than older indoor cameras, especially when zooming in on details. The 4x zoom actually stays clear and usable, which makes a big difference for monitoring pets, deliveries inside the home, or checking activity while away. One of the standout features is the Low-Light Sight mode. The camera keeps color visible even in near-dark rooms, which is far better than the grainy black-and-white night vision you typically get with indoor cameras. Setup was quick, the app is easy to use, and motion alerts have been reliable. The compact size also helps it blend into a room without looking intrusive. Overall, this is an excellent upgrade for anyone already in the Ring ecosystem or looking for a high-quality indoor security camera with sharp video and strong low-light performance.
