Wow oh wow was I delighted when I played this one for the first time! I knew who Taj Mahal and Ry Cooder were, but when I found out that they had been in a band together I decided that I would take the risk and order this CD. I was not at all disappointed. I can see how the record industry had a hard time knowing how to market these guys, as their sound is a mixture of raw blues and 60's power pop. I guess I can understand why it didn't sell but I still think it's awesome. All I can say is that I am glad that somebody dug up these old tapes and put them on a CD.

I really had no idea what to expect, just thought the price was a no brainer for Ry Cooder and Taj who were members in the band, Rising Sons. But this cd goes back to the 60's when both were kids just starting out, so it is what it is. Don't have any great expectations, but you might hear a tune or too to make it worthwhile.
