This is a great re-imagined robocop for the new generation, but for the people who have seen the original trilogy then this movie is a bit disappointing. They made this robocop movie more character driven and play with the idea of man and machine combining each other and question what rights does this new entity have. If you're looking for a senseless action movie to just shut off your brain then this isn't it for you. But this is a great futuristic movie for those something character driven.

My fiancé wanted this movie for awhile and it was a good price so got it

i like this updated version just as much as the original, with it's own twist.

I know I just said not to compare it with the original, but it is hard not to. The original was ground-breaking - not in terms of special effects by today's standards - but by the approach and style that the director took: which is ultra-violence, realism but also in an almost cartoonish way. This reboot is none of those. Instead we get a nice, almost "standard" action sci-fi flick. It's actually quite good. This is a worthy purchase at a discounted price.

This was a great movie for what it is worth. I am a huge fan of the originals, so it was hard to keep the comparisons from coming and to watch it with a new opened mind. However with that being said, it was a great stand alone movie for a brand new generation. If you have not seen this version or have better luck keeping your mind open if a fan of the originals, then this a great action movie with imaginative story telling and it keeps you captivated.

I did not see this in the theater, but wanted to see it so I picked it up. I was not disappointed. I was not expecting the original, as nothing could beat it. This is a different take on Alex Murphy and RoboCop. I enjoyed it. I read a review that said it was boring and slow, but I thought the pacing was good. If you want the original, then you may not like this one. If you leave an open mind then you should enjoy it. The special effects are excellent.

as the author of the epic fantasy novel Bloodspiller and quite educated in the mythos of sci-fi I can rightly say how well this movie worked. I went in not expecting anything close to the original Robocop and ended up quite entertained. it lacked too some of the satirical silliness of the original movie and thus provided a unique slant on the story itself. Same thing happened when I watched the new Dredd movie. very surprised and entertained.

when i first heard that they were going to remake robo-cop and it was going to be pg-13 i was like this is going to be a bad remake bc the 80's version was over the top in blood and guts and it was a great action movie and the remake came out i was like oh god but when i saw it i was like wow this is a good movie and it is a different take on robo-cop and it is a good action movie from start to finish so check it out if you like good action movies

Before you begin to watch it it is best to not compare this version to the original. It's best to start with a fresh mind. Though the basis is the same a Police Officer turned in to a Robotic Cop. The only difference is what leads to him becoming this. This version shows more of the human side to the man inside the robot. Overall it's a good movie. Very realistic feel to it. Deals with what is currently happening in our country as well as others.

My son enjoyed this movie. Old classic he could watch with his dad.

Getting the blue ray dvd with digital download is a must for our family.

The husband is a fan of these remakes, etc. His pick this trip.

Looking to retell the story in a new way, this recent reboot of Rubicon seems to be much different from the original. Where the original had an R rating, this one is stuck with a PG-13 rating. While this may not seem like a big deal to some, fans of the original will find that many things have been altered to allow that to happen. I enjoy most movies I see, so I was shocked that I wasn't too into this one. The story is there and it's told in an interesting way, but the entire time I just felt like there was something missing. I was never fully engaged in the film. There's always this lingering feeling that something is missing. My favorite parts are the news sections with Samuel L. Jackson. This allows for some interesting commentary and insight into what is going on the world during the movie. The action was done well, but it never clicked. I never felt the adrenaline nor did I feel the intensity. It was there and it looked good, but it just didn't excite me. The movie looks good and is a decent film, but that just sums it all up. This movie is decent. There's nothing that will blow you away. While it may not necessarily be a bad film, it isn't all that good either. Maybe we should have just stuck to the classic with this one.

I think the remake was entertaining for those who have watched the original Robocop. It's definitely not as violent or graphic as the original but I do like the change in the story with Murphy (aka Robocop). The acting isn't all that great and the action scenes seemed to be pretty quick and nearly anti-climatic. But being a fan of the original, this was a must buy for me. Although, if you're just curious about the movie. Rent it.

If you go in without expectations of seeing the original, you will be greeted by some decent sci-fi, if just a bit shallow. The interesting dynamic here is that Murphy doesn't initially lose his human emotions. OCP continues to systematically remove them as their marketing agenda changes. The movie is written for obvious franchise implications. I'm interested in seeing the next one now that the origin story is out of the way.

As far as reboots go, RoboCop is a decent one. Like with Total Recall a few years back, RoboCop really doesn't have a lot of similarities to its predecessor other then character names and OmniCorp being the same and that a Detroit police officer becomes RoboCop. The original will always be a classic in my mind, with that said, I had fun and enjoyed this update. Lots of action and some cool effects make this one worth a watch.

The Nephew loves this movie and found it for a great price

Flashier than the original but, I'm not sure I would say better. The storyline, particularly regarding the bad guys, was better; the bad guys weren't just evil, they had their reasons. So, that was good for an action movie. Seemed like there should have been more butt-kicking from Robocop, though. Overall, worth buying, or better, renting, but not paying full price for. Don't know if I will watch it more than once.
