Customers are saying

Customers find value in Rock Band 2's extensive song selection, citing the variety and inclusion of newer music as key selling points. The availability of downloadable content further enhances the game's replayability and musical options. However, some users expressed concerns about the size and limitations of the drum set. Overall, the positive feedback on the music library outweighs the negative comments regarding the drums.

Pros: -Awesome selection of songs -Auto callibrates based on TV -Large variety of songs Cons: -Some of the songs are from previous -hit box is very small and feels a little weird -only 4 drum pads (although I heard you can have more if you buy the right accessories) Overall, great game. The only complaint I have with this game is it's not aesthetically made as the guitar series are and that the play is still the same whereas Guitar Hero made a few changes (like you hold down a few notes at a time while playing different notes at the same time).

Nice step up from Rock Band 1. I was debating between this one and GH4 and this one definitely beats it out. It has downloadable content every week and has plenty of songs to play from. Also u can upload songs from Rock Band 1 to Rock Band 2 so u don't have to switch discs if you ever want to play a song from RB1. Great game!

This game is fun, good clean fun. My friends and I love to play this and the online library is pretty extensive. If you have anymore than 4 people to play though it gets boring fast for those not playing. Plus the music is like $2 per song to buy it off the online music library. Kind of a ripoff IMO as it's only used on the game. It's not like you can store it on your computer or anything. The graphics aren't anything to get excited about. You're concentrating on the notes anyway so you don't have time to look around. The rocker design is fun too. It can get pretty detailed and you can see the changes you make to your guy when you are playing. The drums are a little small for a grown man so that can get uncomfortable as that is my fav instrument to play. But all in all, a great experience.

The user interface is greatly improved over the original especially the abilitly to change instruments without having to exit out of the tour. Its great to be able to do the tour mode without having to have another person or play 2 instruments at the same time. The song selection has been greatly improved especially being able to play dlc and exporting songs from the first game. The only problem I have is with the Guitar Hero drums not being compatible yet. I would have bought the special edition but I didnt think the drums were really improved enough to constitute having a third drum set. This game is totally worth the money.

Great music game. I owned both this and the Guitar Hero games. Rock Band is by far the better game in my opinion. Better music, controls, and gameplay.

this game not only is ten times better than its so called rival game Guitar hero world tour, it has much more choices to download on xbox live or playstation network. What makes me laugh is how guitar hero tried to use KFC for promotion. How lame is that? Whats next Gears of war at wendy's? But on another note Rockband has better music, comes with 20 free downloadable songs, and the drums are better (last longer) than world tour. If you want a better game now or in the long run go with Rockband 2 trust me.

Better than rock band 1. This has all new features than rock band 1. It has a drum trainer mode where it helps you create realistic drum fills. There are 85 songs, which all of them are the origional version. Battle of the bands mode is also included. If you seen the preview for the setlist of GH world tour, it's o.k., but RB2's setlist is way better. I have to warn you that this game has the same difficulty as RB1.

Rockband 2 is amazing. If you thought the first one rocked your socks, your in for a treat. Rockband 2 has 84 mindblowing songs that keep you entertained time and time again. I cannot stop playing. It is addictive. I love that rockband 2 has a single tour mode that can consists of more than one player, a mix of local and online players. The extras menu you allows gamers to play in no "No fail" or "Break Speed" mode. There are so many new and exciting features to this game. I cant divulge into all the details, so the only way to get the full experience is to buy the game. And since your here reading this review, buy it online at best buy. Trust me, you wont be disappointed.

For a while i thought it was silly to have a plasic guitart, or other instrument, and "play" along to other peoples music. I played it at a buddys house and it was actually really fun. SO i bought the first one for my PS3 and it is a blast and the family enjoyed it too. So when the second one came out i didn't hesitate. It is a lot of fun too. The new songs, costumes, and accessories are cool. Some of the songs i really dont like. Of course there is a generation gap here since i am in my 30's and im not hip to some of these new bands, nor do i like them, but you can buy additional songs more to your liking. Overall, a lot of fun. Great for parties or family fun.

I just purchased this game 3 days ago but I can already say without a doubt that this game has exceeded my expectations. My family loved Rock Band 1 and have been looking forward to the release of Rock Band 2 and played for about 4 hours the day we got the game. I love the option to turn off the fail mode for my kids. I have 2 six year olds and 2 eight year olds that love to play but the six year olds would fail half way through the songs and this new options makes it that much better for the kids. I have only unlocked about 30 songs but they all ROCK. I would recommend this to anyone who loves music and video games!!

This is an excellent game compared to guitar hero. Its one of the best music games out there right now. The track list is the best thing i heard of. Also how they have many songs to buy in the playstation store. The guitar is awesome, the keys are a lot easier to push down and the guitar is light. The mic picks up more sound making it easier to sing. The drums are strong and steady, also your now able to buy symbols for them which makes it more fun.

I have been a long time Guitar Hero (GH) player. And after playing Rock Band 1 a few months ago, I found it fun but hard to strum the notes as easily as I can with GH. Recently I was playing the new Rock Band 2 (RB2) guitar at my local electronics store and fell in love with the wood burst body and wood paneled neck. So I placed my pre-order and received it today.... I am in love. I love the sturdy and non-clicky strum bar (I HATED the "click-click" sound of the GH strum). The frets give off some noise but not that bad. They feel good but are harder to keep your place as easily as GH. The feel of the guitar is nice and feels like quality in your lap or hanging from your shoulder. The nice sleek lines of the guitar is even nicer to look at when you're not playing. The whammy is nearly identical to the whammy bar of GH but a bit longer. The start button is nicely recessed and the PS3 button and connect button are nicely designed. I was really relieved to see that the standalone RB2 guitar is in fact the wood burst body design and NOT the black RB2 guitar that is included in the RB2 bundle. I am extremely pleased and I have officially crossed over from GH to RB. The guitar looks like a real Fender Strat and after owning this guitar, GH guitars look like cheap 5-year old toys.

I really like this Rock Band! The song selection is what sold me on it. My favorite songs are by Bad Religion, Nirvana, Sonic Youth, The Pixies, Devo, Tenacious D, The Clash, The Ramones, Buzzcocks, Beastie Boys, Dead Kennedys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc.....

My family has fun playing this game. The game visuals are great and the new music is unbelievable. Old as well as newer songs. Playing on-line is loads of fun too. I recommend this game for the people who love music and fantasizing about being in a real band.

I have owned the original RB game since it was released. I LOVE IT. The second is even better. More songs, PLUS you can import all but 3 of the original songs from the RB 1 disk to be played in RB 2. The online play is MUCH better, the world tour is fantastic, however a little more thought in the game to make the songs change from venue to venue would have been better. You will find yourself often times playing the same songs over and over again in different venues. Especially on the random set lists. I am almost tired of Green Grass and High Tides. Other then that the game is fantastic, A far cry BETTER then the Guitar Hero world tour game. As well as the option to buy the cymbal packs to add on to the RB 2 drum set is REALLY NICE. make game play a little more "real."

Much Better Than Rock Band 1

Pros: Music selection is much better along with the story line that goes way beyond than Rock Band 1 has to offer. Graphics are much better this time too instead of a dinky DVD quality that you see on Rock Band 1. The customization of clothes and accessories are better but I wished they had more selections since they used some old designs from Rock Band 1. Cons: Gotta buy a lot of songs to keep this game interesting. Playing the same songs over and over gets boring really fast even if you're playing with friends. The settings for the game to sync all the notes you hit is better than Rock Band 1 but can still be a downer to get the perfect setting. Overall, it's a great game for anyone who likes to chill or play with a lot of people.

    Rock Band 2 - ROCKS!

RB 2 is every bit as good as RB 1 except more/better songs and options like "no fail mode" for when you have players who may not be so skilled at a certain instrument. It is the PERFECT party game and when we have get-togethers, it always ends up being the main attraction. For $5, you can even bring over all the songs from RB 1 plus all the ones that you had previoulsy downloaded for one mean song collection. Songs like Duran Duran - "Hungry Like the Wolf," Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger," and Lit's "My Own Worst Enemy," are just a few of the new tunes you can rock out to. Overall, VERY much our favorite game in the house!
