I purchased the item to protect my dishwasher. I had to replace a dishwasher when my neighborhood experienced many surges due to new construction and the dishwasher's computer blew. Very easy to install - it gives me a lot of peace of mind knowing my dishwasher is protected from electricity surges and the warranty is great.
