The idea is to be low profile to place in tight spots. It’s nice to have the outlets on the sides, but it is still too deep to fit behind my T.V

Surge protection for two, without blocking outlets

Obviously protecting your sensitive (and/or expensive) electronics with a surge protector is a must - but most surge protectors either block both outlets OR leave you with a large power strip to hide / mount / otherwise deal with. And while that's sometimes ok, other times you might just want to protect one (or two) bigger things without the hassle of a power strip or blocking the other outlet.
That's where this Rocketfish two outlet wall tap fits in perfectly. You get solid protection with a rating of 1500 joules (this is a common / good choice - and superior to 1000 joule options - I would only pay for higher levels if you're in an area with frequent strong power surges, i.e. many lightning strikes), plug and play convenience (of course) and most importantly, protection for two outlets without blocking the other outlet on the gang and without anything unsightly hanging off your wall! It's perfect for say, a TV and cable/satellite box (or streaming box).
I love that they thought of the little things too - like how the outlets are rotated 90 degress so if you have larger "wall warts" they'll still fit (and of course so will normal cords). And how the minimalist design does it's job without sticking out. Frankly, I plugged the surge protector in, plugged in the items to it and then forgot about it.
So if you want protection for your important devices that does the job without getting in the way, this is a great option to check out - and it's well-built and at a good price to boot. Give it a try today!

Compact, Reliable, and Surprisingly Handy
I installed the Rocketfish RF-HTSP225 surge protector for a quick and simple solution, and it absolutely delivers. Setup couldn’t be easier. I opened the box and took out the plug. That was it. Of course, I had to pull my TV off the wall to mount the plug, and I needed a 3rd person to help me connect the power while we put the TV back on the wall. It fit nice and flush behind the bracket and did not bend my power cable. The LED indicator is a great touch it gives me peace of mind knowing the surge protection is active at a glance.
What really stands out is the size. It’s small enough to fit behind furniture or in tight spaces without getting in the way but still feels solid and well-built. For the price, it’s a fantastic value especially considering the brand reputation and added protection for my devices.
If you’re looking for a no-fuss, dependable surge protector that doesn’t hog space, this one’s a winner. I do wish there were angled plugs to allow for more mounting options depending on the type of TV power cord. Luckily mine worked but a more flush mount then there would have been an issue.

Review for
Rocketfish - 2 Outlet Wall Tap 1500 Joules Surge Protector - Black
I got this wall outlet tap to protect my new tv and my sound system for the tv. I’m impressed with how compact the unit is. It’s easy to install in a standard socket and provides protection for two devices, while only occupying a single outlet. Although my tv is suspended on an articulating arm, I can imagine this unit would be great for people who have wall-mounted tv units. It would fit discreetly behind the tv and the power cords go into it from the sides, so it would be very low profile.
It’s designed to protect equipment from electrical spikes such as lightning strikes but also limits electromagnetic or radio frequency interference which can mess up performances on electronic devices.
A blue LED indicates that surge protection is active.
I’m hoping that it works as promised and that I never need it, but it even comes with a $50,000 insurance protection for your equipment should it fail to provide the advertised protection.

I know surge protectors can tend to be sort of a dime a dozen, but this one stands out. The best feature for me are the side outlets. This has allowed me to place my mounted TV up without that tacky cord hanging down under it! Not only that, but I put my TV in one outlet and my cable hookup in the other, so that's to this device, my whole TV area is much cleaner.
I do have to say, the only con (sort of) is that I was expecting to see a USB and/or USB-C port or two somewhere on it. That would have really just set it off, especially when a lot of devices only come standard with a USB/C cord and no adapter. Nonetheless, this does what it is designed to do and it does it well. Haven't had any surges or such issues since installing. I would highly recommend using this where you want the appliance or electronic as close to the wall as possible, such as a refrigerator, or even a large airfryer --- that is the main benefit of this type of surge protector. It's a total space saver, and works as advertised.

This Rocketfish 2-outlet surge protector is a solid little solution for anyone needing basic protection in a tight space. I bought it to add surge protection behind my wall-mounted TV. The form factor is compact and fits snugly behind the screen without interfering with the mount or making anything stick out awkwardly. It gave me a way to protect my equipment without having to run long cables or use a bulky power strip.
With a 1500-joule rating, it offers good protection for basic devices like TVs, soundbars, or streaming boxes. It is not meant for heavy-duty setups, but for one or two important electronics, it works perfectly. The design is simple, clean, and easy to install. Just plug it into the wall and you are done.
I obviously can’t test whether it blocks power surges since I am not summoning lightning, but it is made by a reputable brand and seems well-built. If you need a low-profile, no-fuss solution that offers peace of mind without taking up much room, this one gets the job done. I would buy it again for a similar use case.
