The Rocketfish HDMI switch is great! It is compact, it is light, and works perfectly. I like that it comes with 4 Inputs, greatly increasing my TVs input capacity. It comes with a small remote that includes a battery. The remote is simple, containing four numbered buttons corresponding with the input number. The switch is also wall mountable, and it comes with thick double sided tape to anchor it to the surface and prevent it from sliding. The HDMI ports are nicely and evenly spaced so as to not feel like the back is too crowded. A red light indicator in front of the switch shows you what input is currently active. The switch is able to output an 8K resolution, although I only tested out to 4K and it works perfect. It comes with a USC charging cable with a block. The switching happens almost instantly, so no big delay like old, outdated switches. There is also a button on the device to switch it there in case you misplace your remote. Overall, I highly recommend this switch. It makes it so easy to use multiple devices in an input limited TV.

I was happy to find this switch. We were getting tired of cable swapping. So this was just what we needed. Casual gaming with our game console running through the switch doesn’t seem to suffer any lag. And switching between inputs on the switch is easy with the included remote control. I was hoping it would auto switch if only one of the attached devices is powered on, but it doesn’t seem too. This is not a showstopper though. Since the remote works fine and the box has an input select button on the front panel just in case we misplace the remote. The switch is small and easily fits next to my TV. The remote is simple with a power button and four numbered buttons to select the desired input. It uses (and comes with one installed) a small button type battery that is readily available. Besides the remote, the switch comes with a small power block and USB A to USB C cable to power the switch. It also comes with instructions and a couple of pads as additional feet. While I don’t have an 8K TV to test this with, it works great with my 4K TV. Plus, when I eventually upgrade to 8K, I’m ready.

I got this switch because my short-throw home theater projector only has 1 input HDMI, as the second one is used by my soundbar for audio output. This switch allows me to have multiple source devices connected to it without me having to constantly unplug and plug in cables. It is plug-and-play, sets up quickly, and intuitive to use. The device comes with a USB-C cable and wall adapter for power and two double-sided stickers, if you want to fix it in place. There are also rubber feet on the bottom to prevent sliding and keyhole ports for wall mounting. The switch has a ‘select’ button on the front as well as LED indicators for power and the four inputs. When switching inputs, the display will go blank and its takes 4-8 seconds for the new source video to show up. In addition to changing the input, long pressing the ‘select’ button twice allows you to toggle on or off auto-switch mode. While off by default, when enabled, auto-switch will change to any new HDMI source when it is connected and powered on and swap to the next available connected input if the current input is unplugged or turned off, and I found that this feature works exactly as expected. The unit also comes with a remote that has the numbers 1 through 4 on it for selecting the corresponding input source; just note that the remote cannot toggle auto-switch mode and runs on a CR2025 coin cell battery. The switch supports up to 8K video input/output (7680x4320 @ 60Hz, or 4K @ 120Hz), Dolby Vision, HLG, HDR10, and HDR10+, and HDMI versions 2.3, 2.2, and 1.4 with up to 40 Gbps bandwidth (10 Gbps per lane). For 8K resolution, the HDMI cable must be HDMI 2.1 and no longer than 10ft to prevent signal degradation. It also passes through audio just fine but doesn’t perform audio extraction or support mixing multiple inputs for split-screen viewing. While my highest resolution device is currently only 4K, the video and audio quality was just as clear and crisp as directly connecting to the projector without any noticeable transmission lag. Now I can have my FireTV for streaming, gaming consoles, and laptop all connected to the projector simultaneously and switch between them at the press of a button. I'll also be ready for higher resolution devices in the future when upgrading to 8K.

Maximizing and future proofing my setup

The central anchor in my entertainment system is my updated Hue Sync Box. Without a native TV app—which is only available on Samsung and LG TVs—I have to use the Sync Box to get the lights to coordinate with any content. Unfortunately, the Sync Box only has four inputs. This Rocketfish 8K switch has been the best way to rectify that problem. The switch has four ports, and so far, the automatic switching has been flawless. The box is very small and fits into my setup without taking up too much space or causing clutter. It comes with its own adapter, but the power draw is very small. Since I also have a 4K switch that I use for older gaming systems, I was able to plug both into a multi-port USB dock and power them together, which saves space on the outlet—a small but helpful note if you have limited outlet space. When powered up, as expected, there’s no signal degradation, and the numbers match up in terms of refresh rate. The remote itself is very basic, with simple power and input selection. It’s infrared, so there’s no Bluetooth or smart integration. That being said, there are no negatives to report. It works as intended and fits neatly into my setup without being cumbersome or distracting. A great way to future-proof your system or add ports to an existing setup without buying larger, more expensive components.

Future Proof HDMI Extender and Input Switcher

This HDMI input switcher is basically future proof. It supports HDMI input at 40 GBPS data transfer rate and compatible with resolution up to 8K at 60 HZ resolution. In other words, should 8K TV becomes significantly cheaper in the near future, this HDMI input switcher will not become obsolete. And that is a good product value proposition. The input switcher supports HDMI cable version 1.4 up to 2.3. It supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision HDR as well as DTS HD, Dolby Truee HD lossless digital audio. There are 4 HDMI input ports so there’s enough open ports for my game console, streaming device, and Bluray player. It comes with a remote control to switch input swiftly and the included AC adapter is connected through a 6 feet USB to USB-C cable, which is long enough for my use. I use the input switcher to manage HDMI connection to my UST projector, which sadly only has 2 HDMI ports that are all used up. It works great and all my devices’ HDMI input needs are all covered. Since it works basically as an HDMI port extender, I find it more convenient to manage HDMI connection through a switcher like this one rather than doing it from the HDMI ports at the back of the projector.

This HDMI switch unit is a space saver. This is a great addition to your entertainment setup if you have multiple devices that need to connect to your television. This HDMI switch unit features Four HDMI ports that transfers both audio and video up to 8k at 60Hz. It comes with a remote control to switch the output devices or you can use a button on the unit itself. There is also and auto-switch option that can switch your device's output. This unit has mounting keyholeson the bottom in case the user wants to hang the unit. It supports HDR10, Dolby Vision HDR, DTS HD, Dolby TrueHD digital audio and up to 40 Gbps of data. HDMI cable is not included. This HDMI switch unit can add more ports for your television or help with a television that has minimal HDMI ports available. Installing the unit to the television is not complicated and easy to do. Just plug the devices on the back of the unit and it's ready to use. Overall this unit is a great addition to any setup that uses multiple HDMI devices.

With so many things in life now requiring a screen, it's tough to set it all up without having your house or office overrun with tv's and monitors. It's even tougher when you have limited space to do it all. That's the situation I have. 3 people in a small house where one works from home half the time, one has school homework assignments, one has multiple jobs working from all, and all who game and stream. Luckily, we're not all doing those things at the same time, that means we can share workspaces, somewhat at least. Myself, I'm in software development as well as being a content creator, gamer, streamer and more. I develop on a linux machine, create content with a macbook, and game with a pc. I have hubs to connect most things, but switching between tasks often means still having to move plugs and cables around. This can be a hassle to where I try to do things in blocks of time to avoid that hassle. That is where this switch comes in. It's not the first switch i've tried, but I haven't had the best experiences with some of them previously. Especially when working with a macbook, which can be finicky about how it's connected to displays. This Rocketfish one though is a different story. Setting it up was pretty much just plug and play. I unboxed it, chose the monitor I wanted to use for switching, plugged its hdmi cable in to the output, plugged the various hdmi cables from my devices to the inputs, and plugged the ac adapter in and voila, it was all working. Within minutes I was switching what was being displayed on my monitor with a click of a button. Even better is the remote which has a button for each input. The remote is a bigger feature than you'd think to have. Since each input has its own button, there's no cycling through the inputs a button press at a time. Just click the one you want and go right to it. And because I didn't have to reach over to the switch itself, I could set it up in a spot where it doesn't make a cluttered mess, regardless of whether it made reaching it physically tougher or not. The biggest concern with switches like this though is how well it transfers the signal to fully make use of higher resolution monitors. I'm happy to report this one does what it says and handles high resolution with ease. In my case, I set it up to work with my 32" 4K monitor, and achieved full resolution from all my devices, macbook and pc gaming included. Auto-switch mode is a nice feature also. This automatically switches to a new input, or switches back to the next connected input when the active one is turned off or disconnected. You can disable this mode too if you want, and if there's one negative I have with this switch, it's the process for enabling/disabling auto-switch mode. It can only be done on the main switch by pressing and holding a button in a specific way and sequence. It would have been much better if rocketfish added a button to the remote to do this. It's not that big of a deal and I admit is a bit nit-picky, but it really is the only negative I could find. To wrap this up, I highly recommend this switch for anyone needing to share a monitor between 2 to 4 devices. It makes life a lot easier, especially if the monitor is being shared between multiple people too.

Running out of TV inputs and need to plug in more HDMI components? This is what you need. The Rocketfish 4-input Ultra HD HDMI switch allows you to plug 4 HDMI inputs into the splitter and run 1 HDMI to your monitor. It does this while maintaining a high resolution for each of the inputs. Contents The Rocketfish HDMI switch comes with the following: • 4-port HDMI Switch • 6 ft USB-A to USB-C cable • AC Power Adapter • Remote Control • Quick Setup Guide • Rubber feet Setup It’s pretty easy to set this up, but you’ll need to provide some HDMI cables to do so. Connect the HDMI inputs and run one HDMI to the TV from the output. Plug the power adapter into the USB cable and then into the switch. You are setup. Features • Compact Size (roughly 6” x 2”) • Has mounting holes built-in. Perfect for mounting to the wall or back of furniture. • Push button on face of splitter to change inputs and power on/off. • Remote has a power button and four input buttons to allow you to directly select the input without cycling through each input. Video and Sound Quality The HDMI splitter supports the following video and audio settings: • 8K at 60 Hz • HDR 10 and Dolby Vision • Compatibility with HDCP 1.4, 2.2/2.3 • Has bandwidth of 40 Gbps • DTS HD, Dolby TrueHD audio My Impression The HDMI switch seems to work really well. I didn’t notice any lag playing video games. Colors seem accurate and the image quality is sharp. When you switch between inputs there is about a 2-3 second delay before the input appears. Overall I like it. This is one of those items that you expect to just work, and it does. I am giving the Rocketfish 4-input Ultra HD HDMI Switch 5 stars. I like the compact size and having the mounting holes on the back. The picture looks clear and colors are sharp. Good experience with it so far.

I don't think alot of people know what they are missing out with a HDMI switch. The Rocketfish HDMI switch is exactly what I needed. My TV only has 2 HDMI inputs. This adds 4 more for a net gain of 3. I was tired of unplugging and plugging in cables every time I needed to watch TV, switch gaming consoles, plug in my computer. It also prevents the damage buildup my HDMI cords go through every time I plug and unplug. Setup cannot be more straightforward. You plug it in and you are ready to go. You can use either the remote (numbered 1-4) or the select button at the front to switch between your HDMi inputs. I labeled my remote inputs to make things easier. In addition, there is the auto-switch function which is actually very useful. It automatically switches to the input that is powered on. I found myself barely using the remote or the actual select button. It is powered with a wall adapter which likely helps prevent signal loss and degradation. I had absolutely no issues with resolution and lag. I do not have the luxury of owning any 8K monitors or TVs so I cannot speak to that but hopefully this means that the Rocketfish is future-proofed a bit if 8K output becomes standard. All in all, this is a quality switch and it really does make life easier for those tired of constantly unplugging and plugging HDMI cables every time.

The Rocketfish 4 input switch is an easy way to add more inputs for all your devices. If you have a tv that only has a couple of HDMI inputs or if you’re like me and have a tv that’s a pain to add additional cables because of the mount, this will fix both. I have an 85 inch tv that’s mounted with a flat mount that is impossible to get your hand behind without undoing it from the mount and there’s no side HDMI. I can now essentially have 6 HDMI inputs with the 3 my tv has. I don’t have an 8k tv but it’s definitely nice that it has 8k capabilities so its basically future proof for when I do upgrade. If you do have an 8k tv you also get HDR10 and Dolby vision HDR support. The included small remote makes it easy to switch inputs. Rocketfish includes double sided tape if you do want to mount this on the back of your tv and keyhole mounts so it can be installed with screws. This Rocketfish switch allows you to add more inputs to your tv at the same time giving you future proofing capabilities with 8k support.

Lightweight, compact HDMI switch that just works

If you're looking for a simple, easy to use and future-proof HDMI switch (or, as future-proof as possible, at least), this is a great one to check out. Rocketfish is one of BestBuy's in-house brands but that doesn't mean it should be overlooked. On the contrary, they produce solid, no-nonsense accessories that provide top notch functionality at a solid price and this HDMI switch is a great example of that. My first impression on unboxing the switch is how LIGHT it is - it feels feather light. In the box, you get the switch itself, a small remote with a power button and 4 "direct" switch buttons for the four inputs, a USB-A power adapter and a USB-A to USB-C power cable. You also get two small adhesive pads if you want to stick the switch in place (which you might need to do, given how light it is - you can also set it on a shelf as it has small rubber non-slip feet or hang it on the wall with the keyhole type mount on the bottom. The switch seems well-made despite being very light, so you should be able to expect a good long life out if. You do have to provide your own cables, so make sure they're HDMI 2.1 if you want the best performance from the switch. With top notch cables, this switch is capables of 8K 60Hz or high refresh rates at 4K (120Hz) - you also get all the other goodies as well, with HDR10 / Dolby Vision support, all the HDCP requirements, audio formats and the works. So it's really as future-proof as you're going to get. It's also very easy to use, just plug and play. The only slight down is there's a very brief interuption (5 seconds or so) when you switch inputs, but that's a common thing. So if you're in the market for a high-end HDMI switch to connect up to 4 devices to a single input, this could be just what you're looking for. Give it a try today!

The Rocketfish 4 input 8K Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 Switch worked beautifully for me. With this switch, I am able to run both my desktop and laptop into my 4K 180hz monitor using HDMI. With the remote, I'm able to easily swap inputs in a more reliable way than either waiting for auto-input to detect the right source or reaching up to tap the menu buttons. For testing purposes, I used the Rocketfish 8K switch on multiple devices and it worked just fine: the aforementioned 4K 180hz monitor, a 1440p 240hz monitor, and my 4K 120hz TV/AVR home theater/PS5 Pro setup. On each of those it worked as expected and even worked with VRR/Freesync Premium. The switch box is very lightweight and comes with two keyholes to mount it on a wall or you can use it with included rubber pads to just sit on top of a desk or TV stand. It does require a USB-C power connection, for which both a USB-A to USB-C cable and a USB power adapter are provided. It accepts standard 5V-1A power so you can really power it from just about anything if you lose or don't want to use the included power plug. Overall, this is a great little device and has already made my life much easier the last few weeks. Easy to recommend for anyone needing to add more 2.1 capable inputs.

I picked this unit up because my old unit was starting to have issues switching between things. There was lag and occasionally it would have a scrambled signal for a bit, then catch up. I thought it might be a loose cable and swapped it, but it was not. I saw this at a fair going rate for an 8k switch, and a brand I've gotten many times from best buy and has always done well for me. The old unit was up to 4k, so this allows me to be forward capatable a bit. Since the most I can do is 4k, and 8k not readily available yet, but i will be ready. This comes with the switch, power cord, small instruction book, and the ac adapter. Now whem i'm using this, I'm back to no lag in switching and good picture. The remote works well and the footprint is nearly identical to what my old one was, so it was an easy change. The lights are bright and can easily see inputs switched. I have nothing to deduct points form it feels well built, buttons are responsive and it does what it says. Five stars for this. Iwould reccomend this to friends and family

This is a device that allows you to connect multiple HDMI devices to a single monitor or TV. My setup was an Ultra-wide monitor with 5120x1440 resolutions along with devices gaming PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and an HDMI retro game system. The PC worked perfectly at the monitor’s resolution, the Switch 2 at 4K, and retro system worked at the FHD resolution. All at 60Hz as advertised and with HDR. I didn’t see any of the HDMI artifacts when you have a flaky system. Trust me, I have seen this in the past. The front has LEDs for each input cycled through and selected, and a select button. The remote has a power button and dedicated buttons to select an input. The select button on the unit works as advertised as well as the buttons on the remote. The LEDs and easy to see, although the input numbers silkscreened on the front could not be so easy to see making it a little hard to identify which input is selected unless you are right in front of the unit. The remote solved this by having dedicated buttons. There is a setting that allows you to either manually select an input, or an automatic mode that will select an input as soon as one is detected. I have it set to manual, so I have more control as to what input I am using but it is nice to know an automatic mode exists. I did try out the automatic mode and as I turned on devices, the switch changed automatically as it is supposed to. The most important thing about any HDMI switch is that it can handle the resolution and refresh rate. I have tried devices with three different resolutions and all work perfectly at the advertised 60Hz. It can also pass through HDR signals as well. If you are looking for an HDMI switch that works at high resolutions, get yourself this one. It works perfectly. I only wish it was easier to see the LED input identifiers from farther away.

The Rocketfish 4 Input 8K UHD HDMI 2.1 switch is a small form factor that allows for multiple sources in one box with one out so you can expand your amount of HDMI ports. This is good, because having multiple consoles, a 4K UHD player. What I enjoy about this device from the get go is its a futureproof device. This is because of its support of up to 8k 60Hz. Far as the future proofing go, your next generation consoles and graphics cards will work with this on 8K Televisions. But what about now? Well it jammed packed with HDR10 and Dolby Vision support! It has four HDMI inputs that will accept your game consoles Switch 2, Xbox, PS5 and your standalone UHD blue ray player. It does have a remote to make the switching very simple from a distance. Usage: I tested it out with a 5080 GPU, XBOX Series X , PS5 and my Panasonic UHD Reference player. Once all HDM2.1 cords were hooked up I was able to seamlessly switch and play them on my 120" home theater system. I saw no degraded picture quality. Overall this is a solid product and I would recommend any serious famer or home theater to have one of these. This had made my life easier and more devices connected at once.

I had an HDMI switch already, but it had a manual button, and every time I had to get up to change the input on it. This is a god send. Although compared to the old one this does require power and so takes up an outlet space. It has a fairly long USB C cable included with a power adapter provided. Plus this require an extra HDMI cable, to connect it to the TV, which is not included. (My older model had a built in HDMI out cable). Anyways once you have it setup, the operation is pretty straight forward. With the included remote you can turn it on/off, or switch the input to either of the 4 HDMI In ports. There are 4 numbered buttons thankfully, no need to cycle through with a single button. The remote itself works even if there is no direct line of sight, which I found accidentally, but either ways its great if you are running out of space. I have run 4K content on this for many hours now and not seen any glitches, or skips or any else weirdness. Overall a definite thumbs up, and a necessity nowadays with the number of devices we have hooked up to our TVs.
