The Rocketfish 100 foot fiber optic HDMI cable suitable for in wall installations of great distances. In addition to long runs and in wall capabilities there are specific attributes you need to be aware of. This is the first HDMI cable I've ever seen that is directional, for instance if you are playing back from a Blu-ray player or say Apple TV or some type of streaming box the source end of the cable has to go into that device. The other end of the cable is the destination end that goes into the display device. This HDMI cable is rated for 4K60 hertz HDR video and the most current digital audio lossless standards (Dolby True HD and DTS HD Audio) which means this cable also supports Dolby Atmos audio. As for the installation I ran this from the TV above my fireplace to an output area quite a bit of ways not quite of the 100 foot length but a fair distance and connected it to my 4K Blu-ray player and it handled 4K HDR video as well as Dolby Digital audio without any issue. I used this cable for a few days after it was installed and had no issues with compatibility or performance. There were no dropouts, loss of signal, compatibility issue – basically no signal that I could throw at it that it could not handle. The cable installation for my use case was a bit tricky because I had to snake it through a conduit tubing from the above the fireplace where my TV is to where that conduit exited the wall. The cable started to get caught up since the conduit was a kind of essentially a plastic tube with ridging in it for reinforcement, the cable itself would not run through the conduit without getting hung up. I solved the problem by adding a temporarily layer of packing tape around the around the edge of the cable over the HDMI fitting, while leaving the protective cover/fitting that was preinstalled on each end of the cable. The tape rounded out the more blunt edges of the HDMI plugs, this allowed the cable to more easily run it through the tubular conduit that I had inside my wall. During the process pushed it through until it came out the other side of the conduit (not pulling the remainder of the cable through, continued to push it). I handled the cable delicately as I did not want to stress the cable and take any risk in damaging the fiber element of this cable. There is an advisory on the back of the box that states not to bend the cable sharply and that the bending radius should not exceed eight inches. After purchasing better AV equipment, I notice many of my older HDMI cables were not fast enough to provide a good signal, so I purchased some “Good Value” HDMI cables from a on-line competitor. However, I noticed that the ratings did not meet the advertised specs and would have times where my projector would black out for about a second during a movie. Later, I discovered tech gurus testing HDMI cables against their claims and found many failed to live up to their promise. I have owned other Rocketfish cables and have been happy with the performance. This is why I was pretty happy to try out this 50-foot Rocketfish Fiber Optic HDMI cable. I needed a 35-foot HDMI cable to connect my projector and receiver with the cable placed mostly behind the wall. This 50-foot cable was a perfect length with a lot of slack left. It is worth mentioning that this cable will only work in one direction, so the source-end needed to be plugged into my receiver and the display-end plugged into the projector. I did not pay attention to the yellow tape on each end until after I installed the cable, but luckily, I ran the cable in the correct direction. After playing some games and watching a movie, I have had no issues with a signal loss and have been pleased with the performance. I would recommend this HDMI cable for in-wall installation. The fiber optic HDMI cable should help future-proof the need to upgrade the cable for a long-time.

I needed an HDMI cable long enough to connect the TV installed on my patio to the audio system inside and this Rocketfish 4K UHD 100-ft in-wall cable did the trick. The connectors are not super bulky, so it was easy to feed through the wall and floor without drilling big holes. Since this is an in-wall cable, a nice bonus would have been to include a grommet or two for sealing the space around the cable once it's in the wall. There’s no remarkable change in sound or picture quality than when I had the devices connected over Bluetooth, but thankfully, there is no loss in quality either. The TV picture still looks sharp and crisp, and the audio is still theater quality. These are huge plusses for me. And there's been no loss of signal like you might occasionally experience with Bluetooth connections. We’ll see how the cable holds up in performance during the cold weather months with one end in the outside storm cover with the TV and the majority of the cable and the other end fed through to inside the house. But as of now, I'm pleased with its performance.

So do you need 4k clarity? So you need to run an HDMI in the wall? Look no further. You found it here. Just an FYI. Not all cables are rated for in wall installation. It is also called plenum rated cable. It has to do with fire rating for building code. This cable complies with code for in wall or plenum rated cable. Also this cable is SUPER LONG. That means if you have an AV room or closet you can run it from the closet to your room. The cable has specific source and TV or Monitor sides. Make note of that during wire pulling time. Also make sure you plan your pulling because the HDMI head you will have issues with it getting stuck in fire blocking. Quality of picture is good. Lip sync and video does not seem to have any distortion at least to my eye. I ran it from my Marantz AVR to my LG OLED and it did just fine. So if you looking for in wall and long cable for HDMI look no further. Rocketfish has been known for their AV accessories over the years and this is no different. Based on my experience and the rating of this cable I would recommend this product.

HDMI PROBLEM: My ceiling mounted 4K projector is located over 40 feet away from the control processor, so signal attenuation is a major concern. The copper HDMI cable I bought when I first set up this theater is heavy & bulky. For optimal signal quality, it is recommended to keep HDMI cables carrying 4K video under 10 feet because signal loss can occur beyond 25 feet, causing pixelation. HDMI SOLUTION: The ideal solution for a long run is a fiber optic cable. The HDMI connector on the source end converts the electrical signal to light waves, and sends these waves through the fiber. The HDMI connector on the receiving end converts the light waves back to an electrical signal. Result: lossless signal over a long distance & fiber is not subject to electrical interference. Plus, this cable is In-Wall rated, a requirement for fire prevention. CAUTIONARY NOTES: Fiber optic HDMI is a one direction cable. So, you must connect the source connector to your signal processor or receiver & the receiving connector to your projector or television. If you connect it the opposite direction, you will not receive a signal. You also need to avoid sharp bends, so as not to damage the fiber. Rockfish specifies an 8" bending radius. CONCLUSION: If you need an HDMI cable 25' or longer, this 50' Rockfish Fiber Optic Cable is the ideal solution & earns my highest recommendation.

I was worried the signal for the cable would have problems due to the length of the actual cable itself. However thankfully the fiber optic portion of the HDMI cable itself helps with that. This was a solid choice for running a cable from my living room to my computer room just to display my computer screen on the TV itself without having to move the desktop. Perfect display quality.

Connected my computer GeForce GTE 1080TI 4K HDMI output to my Sony A95L TV 4k 120Hz input with the Rocketfish 50' UltraHD FiberOptic HDMI cable with HDR support. Three other 4K monitors were also in use at the time. The computer and movie pictures on the TV were beautiful and the sound was great although the volume was reduced a bit. The only distraction is the cable transmission delay of maybe 1/2 second that makes the mouse movements delayed, but still totally usable. I don't think I would want to do computer activities very much over the Rocketfish cable to the TV, but for viewing pictures or movies it is great.

I needed a long HDMI cable to connect a monitor at the front of a classroom. This cable was just what I needed. BestBuy had it in stock which is great these days. I ran to the store, picked it up, and had my monitor connected super fast.

This is an excellent value HDMI cable. We also added it to a splitter unit so we could watch the same information from one of our computer computers on two different screens in two different rooms. The best part was that Best Buy keeps this product in stock locally and we were able to get it and install it immediately.

HDMI cable is one way so make sure source side is connected to source and tv/projector side on the tv.

There were adequately used for the installation and there have been no issues.
