I bought this power protector because I liked the design and I know that it is of good quality. It also looks expensive from the way it looks. I bought it to protect three expensive devices, one is a corsair i8200, another is the corsair xeneon flex 45 oled monitor and the other is an lg clair qp5 sound system. so I put my trust in this device and I recommend it

Good surge protector with noise filtering

Well designed surge protector with EMI/RFI noise filtering. Rated at 2,880 joules so it should be more than enough for most basic A/V and home theater setups and BestBuy/Rocketfish stands by it with a $750,000 connected equipment limited warranty. Performance wise, there really isn’t much to talk about other than it seems to be distributing power well. There’s a 57db EMI/RFI noise filter which is supposed to help with potential data loss, however I always thought they were more about blocking unwanted noise in your audio or video feeds. I’m using this unit to protect a high fidelity stereo receiver and while noise wasn’t an issue before, it’s nice knowing unwanted electrical noise won’t affect the sound quality if something else is plugged into it. Some people forgo the noise protection because it generally lowers the overall joule rating, but with (1 watt = 1 joule) 2,880 joules, there’s more than enough overhead for a simple 2x100w amp. This also offers a proper 3 lines of surge protection (all 3 holes of the plug) with a 20 watt USB-C and 12 watt USB-A charging port. And maybe most important of all, it’s UL certified so you can have peace of mind that it’s not going to fail and burn your house down. There’s a whole lot of cheaper surge protectors online, but I refuse to buy any that are not UL certified. When it comes to surge protectors or any kind of power cabling, pay the extra money for something that’s been tested to be safe and won’t catch on fire. Aside from solid performance features, it has a few notable design features that I appreciate. The flat angled plug feels like a must nowadays and only sticks out about ½” from the wall without severely bending the power cord or blocking the outlet below it. The body is made from lightweight plastic that feels sturdy, but also a little cheap. All of the outlets are nicely spaced apart, with 2 of them given extra real estate for large plugs. I like that there’s a backlight for each of the outlets, though I don’t know how often I’d actually use it. Power Filtering and Advanced Protection is also illuminated and I imagine they’re status indicators, because they don’t turn off. Overall, it’s a solid, safe, and well designed surge protector with EMI/RFI noise filtering. An excellent addition to any A/V setup and backed by a $750,000 warranty. Highly recommended for that new TV / receiver / soundbar that you’ve had your eye on.

Quick Overview ================================= If you love technology and gadgets, you can never have enough good power strips. I'm not talking about the old standard, 6-in-a-row ones that get dominated by a single power brick. I'm talking about ones like this Rocketfish 6-outlet surge protector with extra USB ports. It's not just access to more ports, it's power protection from surges/spikes and a much more useful form-factor. Overall build ================================= I have a lot of UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supplies) and good surge protectors for my AV/Home Theater equipment. This Rocketfish surge protector is as good or better a some of the other ones I have from some other well-known, high-quality brands. It's hard plastic with a thick, braided power cord. The 3-prong outlet is flat and angled so it won't take up all the space at your wall outlet. There's plenty of spacing between the 6 ports, and as you can see, you might be able to fit a brick in all the spaces! There are two USB ports (one Type A, one Type C) which you can also never have enough of... The power switch illuminates in red, and the "light" button is touch-sensitive to turn on/off the lighting around the outlets. I think it looks quite nice though it's bright enough that you won't want this by your bedside. This is better for taking care of your TV, Receiver, and game consoles. On the rear, there are holes for wall-mounting and an often-overlooked UL sticker. UL approval is important for electric devices! UL certification shows that this device has passed all the local and federal testing required. You can't say that about all the different cheap chargers and power strips you may find elsewhere. With devices like these, you don't want anything that has poor quality control that could lead to melting, fire risk, or worse! Performance ================================= I really appreciate the layout of a surge protector like this. Too often, we have to make space for our devices and their bulky "wall warts" and this can handle 5 of mine with no problem. Your mileage may vary depending on what devices you're plugging in, but this one is more spacious than another "leading" brand that I use. I love having any extra USB ports and would have loved more than two, but I'll take these! If you use these under a desk or entertainment center, having the light option is great - no more fumbling around with plugs in the dark! These devices can only be as streamlined as the devices you end up plugging in, but I'm glad it's very flat and wide. In my case, it was easy to tuck this into a small shelf, out of sight. I also tried this temporarily on a workbench that I use to work on electronics. It was nice to have access to ample power right next to the devices I'm fixing. Some of them use wall warts, USB charging, etc. and I had it all right here, on a clean, flat surge protector. I didn't end up leaving it on my workbench since it does take up a lot of square inches of my table top, but on a larger surface, it would be ideal. Conclusion ================================= As mentioned earlier, you probably will never have enough good surge protectors. You've got an investment in quality electronics and you should protect them with quality, clean power. It's not worth risking your new PC, game console, or TV to a power surge or spike. I really like this Rocketfish surge protector and it's definitely got a permanent job powering and protecting my gear.

I like the look and thoughtful design of this surge suppressor. USB ports, smart LED lighting, and noise filtering are my favorite features and very useful. ---Pros--- 1. Nice looking brushed metal case and power button. 2. Built in noise filtering is a great feature for anyone concerned about audio noise or that has sensitive electronics. My house is wired in a way that some noise from common household equipment is possible, and this is a nice added layer of protection in addition to surge suppression. 3. The power cord is a true 6ft long (I measured it!), feels heavy duty, and covered with a braided material which I have found to be very durable in other applications. The right-angle plug is great for outlets behind furniture and is shaped so it doesn’t block the other outlet. 4. Nice wide base and good outlet spacing allows you to fully utilize all 6 outlets (unlike some other power strips that have more outlets but smash them all together - you think you are getting more and can’t use them). I was able to use every outlet, even with 4 AC/DC adapters plugged in with 2 three-pronged equipment cords. The wide base also means that the strip sits upright and doesn't slip/flop around, even with heavy cords or adapters plugged into it. 5. Built-in USB-A and USB-C charging ports for smaller devices. I love these for charging my cell phone and powering a USB powered wireless gateway (door lock) without another power adapter. ---Things to Consider--- 1. Overall the LED lighting looks great on this surge suppressor and the ability to toggle the white LED outlines on the outlets on/off is great when plugging things in under my desk. I am using these in an office and love the well lit surge protection and power filtering indicators, which are easy to see without bending under neath my desk. This might be an issue though if you are using them for a home theater or in a dark room (like a bedroom) - the bright green surge suppressor and power filtering lights cannot be turned off (the white outlet lights can), which could be distracting for some people. 2. Surge protection is the main purpose of this device and there is a lot of info on the back of the box - I really appreciate the amount of information given - which is often missing from some even more expensive devices. The good news: the amount of energy this surge suppressor can absorb is great at 2880-joules and it offers 3 line protection - protecting all three blades of a typical equipment plug including ground and neutral. Just ok: this surge suppressor is rated at a clamping voltage of 500V - this number is the highest voltage it will allow to reach your devices - while this is not bad compare with others and may not really be an issue, this is higher than desired and a lower voltage (less than 400V) is recommended by a lot of websites. I also always recommend pairing any equipment surge suppressor with a whole home surge suppressor - the best place to stop a surge is at the panel and anything that makes it to the outlet can be handled by the Rocketfish. 3. Rocketfish is a Best Buy product, which means claiming warranty service and equipment protection (up to $750k) are a unique experience. There is no dedicated Rocektfish website - there is one on the box, but it really just redirects you to Best Buy. This makes it hard to find some info like manuals, equipment guarantee restrictions, and warranty info - there is an email under Best Buy support ([email protected]). There is also a benefit to this - for warranty stuff you can use your Best Buy store as a resource.

Rocketfish 6-Outlet/1-USB-C/1-USB 2,880 Joules Surge Proctector is perfect for my desk-top computer, printer, and Wi-Fi power hookups. It's a compact surge proctector that fits right beside my computer tower on the bottom of the computer desk. It measures about five inches wide by nine inches long. It has the places for the screws if you would like to mount the surge proctector to the wall or floor. Two of the receptacles are widely spaced for the larger plug-ins. The two USB-B port is comes in handy for my mouse dongle and charging other USB-B devices. I will use the USB-C port to charge my cell-phone, wireless mouse, and any other of my USB-C devices. Using the Rocketfish 6-Outlet Surge proctector to charge my S23 Ultra phone took about 1 hour and 20 minutes for a full charge. Using a Samsung fast charger takes about 50 minutes. Which is really not that bad. If you are like me and don't have extra ports for visitors this surge proctector will help. Overall I like this surge proctector. I would recommend to a friend.

What’s the most reliable thing you’ve owned that requires electricity? For me it’s surge protectors. Majority of them just seem to stand the test of time. Though I’ve never actually been in a surge situation my entire life and they just seem to keep pumping out the electricity to all my devices. I have never really cared too much about what I’m getting until now! Basically now that I have a really high end PC with top spec’d items from team Blue and team Green, high end gaming monitor, both high end game consoles attached to this monitor as well, etc… I want to keep them safe in case I ever do end up in that situation. I mean if I go by my track record, chances are it won’t happen, but if it ever does I want to know that I did something or tried to do something to protect them. I don’t know how well Rocketfish honors their “$750,000 connected warranty” but if I were to assume positivity, it seems like a good perk. If I were to assume the worst, then I feel like I’d have to ‘prove’ their product failed to protect my equipment in a surge which may be hard to do. But at least it is something I can try ya know? All that besides the point, I mainly wanted some peace of mind because I don’t imagine this being something I will have to worry about and with all of the marketing material on the box definitely gives me peace of mind. The build quality on this is pretty surprising! It’s really good for what you’re getting! Now I know you’re highly likely to tuck it in a corner somewhere and keep it out of sight, but as I mentioned earlier I have a high end gaming setup and the Rocketfish’s lights, it actually compliment my overly RGB’d set-up nicely. Seriously, it looks rather good for my system. It also is kind of nice to know that you’re getting a quality surge protector! There’s metal like accents and the braided cable is really nice as well. And did I mention it lights up? Yeah seriously it’s a pretty cool perk! Plus you’re getting a port for your phone charger or some sort of USB C device and USB A device. It’s perfect for my Apple Watch and wireless charger on my desk. It’s a slow charge, but good enough! Some things I wish it had is an ethernet port. I appreciate the denoising too, it helps me feel like my power supply is getting clean power without too many spikes and noise and with the 6 ft cable, I’m pretty happy with it overall. Highly recommended!

There’s not much to say about this surge protector since they’re meant to just do the job and need no further interaction after install. I’ve used a couple others that are very similar for a few years now and they have been great. I enjoy the built in USB ports for charging gaming accessories or other devices, and since generally I prefer to keep my cables hidden under cabinets or in this case my bed frame, the lighted ports are a very handy feature to be able to see where the plugs are when reaching for something new to plug in. The unit itself feels high quality with a nice, braided power cable that has a low profile plug at the end so furniture can be pushed closer to the outlet if necessary. This particular surge protector has 6 outlets with plenty of space in between them for larger AC adaptors and one USB-A and one USB-C port which is welcome for newer devices that are now moving over to only USB-C charging cords. I use it for my nightstand which is where I keep my phone/watch/AirPods charger, iPad, laptop, a lamp, and a couple other things and it’s perfect for that setup. It works exactly as expected and if my older ones are any indicator it will last for many years to come. Definitely recommended to keep your gear safe.

This surge protector is very sturdy, attractive and provides almost all the outlets I require for protecting my devices. I rate it 4 stars and not 5 only because there is another model which has 4 USB-A ports instead of the 1 USB-A and one USB-C port on this model, which I prefer, and because Rocketfish does not feature the movable "rocking" outlets that some others do. The features I like are the flat plug, the sturdy braided 6-foot cord, and the $750,000 "connected warranty" that Rocketfish offers, should the device fail to protect according to their terms and conditions. I did not have a failure in the short time that I have owned the surge protector, so I cannot speak to its ability to protect against surges up to 2880 joules. The lighting around the outlets is a nice feature which can be turned on and off with the press of a button on the top of the strip. In summary, it does what it is supposed to do, provide 6 standard US electrical outlets, one USB-C and one USB-A port. I do not hesitate to recommend it.
