This is a great debut album from Duffy, better known in the UK. I love almost every song on the CD. Some of my favorites are, "Syrup and Honey", "Scared", and the very popular "Mercy." She has a great soulful voice, similar to that of Amy Winehouse. Although not every song is out-of-the-park amazing, this is a superb album that shows that Duffy may be here for quite awhile.

Not for Me

I purchased this album because it was on several of the "gotta have" cool lists I'd read about. Since I had heard Mercy on the radio, I thought the sound was really cool-- so I didn't listen to other tracks before I purchased the album. I even saw Duffy on the VMA's and thought she was great! The song Mercy is not really indicative of what is on the entire album. The rest of the tracks are a bit slow and all the songs sounded similiar. Although I think Duffy is talented, I would recommend listening to the entire album before purchasing. I wish I had!

Like many debut albums, this one is hit and miss but she's got a really nice voice and none of it sounds anything less than pleasant. Besides the hit Mercy, Warwick Avenue is a standout.

I love her style, to me her sound reminds me of 60s Motown. Beautiful voice, love the song Warwick Avenue and Mercy. I caught her on Jay Leno last night, sounds as good live as she does on the CD. Definitely worth the purchase. I would agree she reminds me of less disturbed Amy Winehouse. I would not be surprised to see Warwick Avenue win a Grammy.

One of her songs was on an episode of Smallville. Sounds good.
