I already owned the 360 version. silly going between the two game consoles. great for learning to play guitar. love to add new songs too!

Let's be honest no video game is going to make you a great guitar player. I've never had a lesson in my life and even after playing RS I still suck, really bad. I don't think that's the point though, it is supposed to be fun, and it is. I don't have 100 hours to put into this and probably that's what it really takes to see some kind of ability to play. I am getting what I want out of it though.

Rock smith is great way to learn guitar and still have fun. It can get challenging at some points but great overall.

Hours of fun and learning. Puts great use to the XBox as more than just a gaming system all while learning to jam.

I've been using Rock Smith for a couple weeks now. I picked up a Guitar a few times prior to this and could never really stick to it and practice. After Rock Smith and I can definitely say from a gamer perspective, it makes learning the guitar so much more fun, it doesn't seem like a chore or tasks, and the game, especially training mode, makes me, as a gamer want to push to continue practice and improve my skills. Definitely very happy with my purchase.

I am no guitar expert but do enjoy video games, music and the creative aspect of many things. I like that this game allows you to take part in all of those things while actually teaching you a few skills on the strings. Great time especially with the family.

Unlike Rockband or Guitar Hero, Rocksmith will assist with actually learning to play the guitar. The built in tuner is very helpful for new players and the lessons are fun and engaging. It's quite remarkable how well it can tell what notes you are and aren't playing and when. The issue I had with Rocksmith is the somewhat limited starting songs for those not willing to DLC new tunes.

I am a big fan of tools for self learning, so I picked up this game on sale and a reasonably priced electric guitar. So far it has been great. I have been playing the tutorials for the basics and mini games for practice. I like the fact that you can start from nothing and it even includes tuning the guitar.

Like many others, I have always wanted to be able to play guitar and attempted traditional lessons but found myself impatient and often giving up. Just when I had given up along comes Rocksmith. A game that keeps you interested and makes learning guitar exciting. It is not the end all be all of guitar lessons but definitely a good start.

A great way to pick up the guitar and have some fun

Having played guitar for many years i really like how rocksmith is easy to pick up can be played for hours. Really fun to practice and get better and better unlocking more intricate guitar parts of the song as you progress..awesome game!

I've barely scratched the surface with this game by playing 7 songs and trying to really learn a few well. The lessons are amazing and since I've owned a guitar before but never really played, I've always wanted to figure it out. This game is Guitar Hero and Rockband equivalent, but doesn't let you feel like mastering all the stupid buttons was a waste of time and energy. This teaches you how to really play a real guitar and works well. The only thing it doesn't do is teach you how to read music, so those folks aren't going to have much to say about it.

The game is set up more towards someone with a background in guitar playing. It goes through some basic skills quickly and moves to the more advanced stuff. If you are new and don't have 24/7 to play the game it might be quit the challenge to learn to play the guitar strictly through the game.

Like everything else in the world playing a guitar (or a video game) takes some practice. So why not learn to play a real guitar while mastering a great video game? Sweet!

Love this realistic guitar game that plugs our guitar into the system and even allows me to see my actual guitar during playtime. Would love to be able to purchase a wider variety of songs. The biggest rock group in the world, Metallica, does not have any songs on the Xbox version.

I haven't picked up a guitar in years. That being said this game was a superb for exercising my fingers and getting them back to shape. It's a lot of fun. Great for beginners and advanced. Running your own amp through the cable first definitely makes the experience better!
