    Not His First Rodeo

Travis Scott, Houston based rapper/producer set the bar high for his commercial debut last year with the stellar 'Days Before Rodeo'. His debut did not disappoint at all. Where 'DBR' was great, it was seriously lacking in lyrical depth. 'Rodeo' shows Scott opening up more about his life - songs about his hometown, family, personal problems, goals are spread across his newest project. The production on the album is astounding and features a little help from his friends Metro Boomin, Mike Dean, Kanye West, Zaytoven, and more. If you like hip-hop, but aren't sure about Scott, this album provides a great starting point. If you like Scott, go buy this album, right now.

    Worth the wait/hype

I don't usually buy an album unless I really liked the album or unless it's one of my favorite artists. I didn't want to get my hopes up so I tried to have low expectations for Rodeo. But this album was worth the wait/hype. It's an album you can really listen to from start to finish in the whip. Only 2 or 3 skippable tracks on the whole album. Couldn't choose a favorite if you asked me. Support LA FLAME and buy the album.

I've been listening to Travis Scott since Owl Pharoah and his growth sonically has reached a major high point in his young career. This album is a wild ride packed with many great guest features that add elements and style to enhance the overall aesthetic of the wild ride of Rodeo. My favorites songs are Oh My Dis Side, 90210 and of course the infectious Antidote. There are gems all over this album

This is the debut album of Atlanta native, Houston influenced rapper, Travi$ Scott. Scott successfully demonstrates the sound that has been coming out of Atlanta for the last few years, and takes it to new heights. Definitely an artist to keep an eye on in the future.

This was actually my first time listening to Travis Scott (after a friend recommended that I buy this album). Gotta say I'm glad I did. One of those CDs you can play beginning to end without skipping a song.

Travis Scott is strangely special. There is something absolutely mysterious, haunting yet endearing about him. Rodeo expresses that peculiar blend in a magnetic way. The album tells a story that isn't pretty or light by any means. But, the dark and menacing sounds of it exposes a layer of something untainted...his voice. Not necessarily his actual voice but his truths. The T.I. narrated album opener "P0rn0graphy" and murky beginning/optimistic clarity of the colorful mood shifter "Oh My Dis Side" represents this point incredibly. He talks about all the usual points in Hip-Hop: drugs, $ex, money and adjustment to fame. Still, Scott is able to make all those subjects sound freshly re-imagined with his creeping and chilling choice of production: "P!ss On Your Grave", "Antidote" and "Maria I'm Drunk". Sonic-wise the album pulls from Trap, Metal, Psych-Rock, Grunge and Electronica which only enhances the flair. Even, with all the weight and weightlessness of the gloomy sounds, he manages to express a romantic vulnerability on "Impossible". Travis Scott unleashed a bizarre jet-black "horror movie-tinged" style on his debut that sounds as promising as it does eerie.
