The ally is an amazing portable gaming device, and has all the performance I can ask for. However, asus needs to do some work on the software side of things. Essentially, there are multiple apps that you need to use to update this device. Asus does not tell you about one of them called “my asus,” where you get bios updates as well as other firmware updates from. Additionally, the armory crate software is not the most intuitive piece of software.

First of all dont believe all thr bad reviews, because many of those are from people who barely ynderstand how to turn on a cellphone, let alone set up a computer. It requires some patience and knowledge. If you dont have the knowledge be patient, the system requires many updates since its been wokred on by Asus and some Windows drivers also need to be updated. At most this will take you an hour or so, but once you get eveyrthing up and ready. Tryst me, the Ally plays all your games beautifully, so dont be dissapointed at first. The console is amazing for its size.

When I initially got it I was underwhelmed because I only had games that had no controller support but once it got a few games with that support I've been having a blast with it, it very powerful for how small it is I play cyberpunk that's heavily modded and get 40-50 fps. I have been using this way more than I have my laptop and it's a plus that it runs on Windows so you can leave your laptop behind and use this the only downside is the amount of storage but that can be fixed easily.

Many choices out now but this one still caught my eye more than the rest. Controlls are good, but wouldn't play CoD on this. At least not competitively, single player games are great on this and mmorpgs too. Played D4 on this and it played it very well. Would I recommend this to buy? Kinda, if you have money burning your wallet go for it. If you want to buy one big purchase for gaming then wait for a big sale and get a gaming laptop. But if you really want a handheld pc then I would recommend this one.

As a dad of 3 kids who wont alliw me time to sit at my PC this is a godsend. it has some drawbacks compared to the Ally X but for what i need it for it more than exceeds expectations. simple enough for kids to use and can be even used as a streaming PC. good stuff.

Runs warzone pretty good. However one full game ate 40% battery, i guess they have issues with sd card but i dont have enough games to need it...over all i like it... might be a bit over priced in my eyes but hey it is what it is and i didnt return it so..... Should have a bigger ssd and i haven't got fully used to the built in controls , ps5 controller is way better than this built in one to me but it works alright

Runs pretty well, hooked it up to meta quest 3 and it ran all the vr steam games on medium ( still better then meta native games).. go with the x if you have the money.. the only egpu these work with are theirs and they expensive.. cost more then a regular gpu...

Great system! Love that it’s windows based, makes getting all your games from steam, epic, gog, or whatever service you use very easy then bundles all those games into a one click away library. Decided to play cyberpunk over again using this system and it looks amazing, all while pushed my 40-50 fps. My biggest complaint is the WiFi card sucks!!! And after doing some research ppl are saying there’s some with better WiFi cards then others.. other then the WiFi I would give it a 8.5-10

One of the best mobile gaming experiences I’ve ever had. It’s a love child of so much gaming knowledge, that’s it’s impossible not to be amazed. From the simple fact that it’s full windows 10/11, to the amazing mobile processor that can run most modern titles 60+fps. I mostly used it for MW2 2022, and I have no complaints. It did take some time to get used to aiming on the device, because it does feel way different than a monitor or TV but after you do, it’s amazing the place/ you can get score streaks at.

Definitely a great purchase! Very portable but need to be by an outlet for charging if wanting to play for a long time!

I bought this in july when i become homeless to keep gaming, but now im about to become homeless again.

Fantastic little machine. It runs games great. Only complaint is the battery life, but even that isn't too bad.

Device is beautiful and feels good in the hands. Performance is good but still has some bugs that needs to be addressed and windows 11 sometimes makes it impossible to use. Battery life is terrible, specially if you want to play AAA games on the go. Probably need to wait some time to see if it improves with software updates but overall is a great device

Great portable console. It has windows 11 prei-nstalled and Asus launcher. You can play any Steam game and retro games through emulators.

I've had this little guy for a few months now, and it is holding up fantastically. The battery life isn't the best, but I usually have it plugged in so it's not an issue. Overall I would recommend this to others looking for a handheld pc.

I bought this for my son with complete knowledge of some of the build quality issues around heat. This is his first gaming handheld so I made sure I got the extra warranty. Overall it’s not a bad handheld, good price, plays all types of games (low to mid settings), the battery life could be improved. I ended up returning it after the sad card reader burned out and the battery died. It stopped turned on about 8 weeks after I bought it. I ended up using the money to get one of the Xbox ally

Great hand held pc. Plays Starfield perfect. Only wish they had a larger ssd but it’s super easy to replace it with a larger one.

Really enjoy this handheld! Of course it cant play everything out there but being able to play assassins creed shadow, space marines 2, should be enough to say how much it can handle. Definitely reccomend this for anyone wondering if its worth it

I LOVE this thing. I also have a Steam deck and wanted to try this because I play Xbox games. The screen is so much better than the Steam Deck and I actually understand Windows vs Linux. Its just built entirely for a different consumer than the Steam Deck and that consumer is me. I would not hesitate if you have the cash and are looking to get into handheld gaming and want to play games outside of the Steam ecosystem easily.
