I bought this to use PLEX software with my older HDTV which only has component a/v connections. I have been using my WiiU for video streaming, but it doesn't have adequate bandwidth using WIFI and the WiiU doesn't have an Ethernet port. I connected my ROKU using an Ethernet connection and an HDMI to Component adapter and it works perfectly. It was easy to set up and I now have streaming for PLEX, VUDU, and Netflix. I will be looking at adding additional channels.

The Roku 3 was easy to connect and even easier to use. My three year old granddaughter uses it with no help. I like it better than my Apple TV because it has more channels available. You can listen to the TV by plugging into the remote control using earphone/headphone and only you can hear it. This feature is nice if you are watching material that has profane language or music.

The Roku 3 took over as my primary way to stream TV shows and movies (I was using my XB1/PS4). The user interface is simple and beautifully designed. It has all the apps you need and then some, including games and music streaming. This device is also very fast and I never have to worry about buffering even though it is not wired to my modem. The earbuds that come with it work well and are very comfortable for extended usage. I give this thing two thumbs way up!

I have streaming apps on my blu ray DVD player and my 'smart' TV but the Roku works better. Would have given it 5 stars but the first Roku 3 had to be returned after it froze during use and would not respond to the remote. Second one is OK. I tried a new Chromecast also, but returned it. I like having a separate remote control. I use wired internet with the Roku and other living room devices. Got a pair of Homeplug devices to run internet to the living room - and a switching router behind the TV to share it. This saves my WiFi for my mobile devices.

The new Roku 3 is truly the closest thing you will ever get to combining your cable box and your other streaming services. If you are cutting the cord to cable, this is the device to have. I have the TWC app, which emulates my cable box pretty well, but I also get all of the other apps that Roku is compatible with. (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc.) There is a ton of content available, just search the web for the many channels that exist. Furthermore, I have a Plex media server and Roku has an app for it (costs $5, but has a 30 day trial) so I can watch all my content via the Roku. One note: unless you have really good wifi, connect this via an ethernet cable. You will need good throughput on your internet connection. Also, if you are in a neighborhood that has a lot of wireless networks, most of these are running at 2.4ghz. If you have a wifi router that supports 5ghz, there is a hidden feature that will allow you to connect your Roku 3 on the 5ghz network which may cause your wifi issues to go away. The downside to 5ghz is that it doesn't travel as far, but it is definitely more robust and has better throughput. Just google "switch Roku 3 to 5ghz wifi connection" for directions.

This is a great product for those looking to cut the cord. Granted, programming isn't perfect and there are still shows and things that aren't included in base subscriptions to things such as Hulu and Amazon Prime - a majority of mainstream programming is available, usually within 24 hours of airing on live TV. As for the Roku, it works exactly as advertised - I have one in each each room and one in the living room, with no issues. The only warning I have to others is watch your data usage if you have a provider that limits it - not every streaming provider on the Roku will cut off after in activity - some continue to stream for hours on end.

The Roku 3 has an updated remote with voice search, which works very well; as well as the unique headphone jack for private listening. The Roku platform delivers more apps than competitors, constant updates and doesn't favor one content provider over others. Its interface is lightning-quick, fully customizable and dead simple to use. Search is the best on the market, hitting 17 services and arranging results by price.

I purchased the Roku3 after the streaming device I intended to purchase was sold out, I'm so happy the other one wasn't available! I love how fast I've been able to stream shows & movies on the device. I have also enjoyed the special offers that I've had the ability to take advantage of. The setup was very easy & I was ready to stream my first show about five minutes after I connected the Roku to my TV.

I absolutely love my Roku! There are tons of free channels and the way it interfaces with my cable provider is amazing. More so, I love that I can completely give up all but barebones basic cable and stick with Roku and a few paid apps for my entertainment needs. The picture quality is great (I do have a newer LED flat screen) and it's nice that the paid apps I have have their own button on the Roku remote.

First of all, it is very easy and quick to set up. Besides the improved UI, I really love the new remote control, which contains a head-set jack and volume controls. When you plug-in a head-set, the audio on the Roku's HDMI interface is automatically muted, and re-routed to the head-sets. This is awesome when watching movies at night when your loved-ones are asleep, and might be equally useful when you ask your kids to use the head-set, so you don't have to listen to Dora the Explorer all day long.

I love my Roku. It provides all that it claims. It is easy to connect and to use

Roku 3 is fast, reliable, and has access to tons of content. Most of the top tier content requires a subscription though. The device is small and quiet. The voice search is useful when I need to find something for the kids quickly. My 3 year old broke the little tab that keeps the remote battery door shut, though. The remote still works fine, fortunately my harmony remote also works with it.

We wanted to cancel our satellite service and stop paying $124/mo for it. I bought 3 of the new Roku 3 players and they were as advertised. Blazing fast and the voice search is very helpful. It works better than I expected it would. Nothing bad to say about this product. Sure, they are an upfront cost compared to satellite but we will recoup their cost in lest than 3 months.

We bought this to replace a first gen Roku. The performance and speed is very noticeably better. Also cool is the voice search... Now finding stuff to watch we hadn't considered in the past. All in all would buy this again and would recommend.

Easy to install and use. Works great. No problems encountered. love it!

Pros: Attractive Design; Fast Setup; Simple Controls It was simple to set up and start using, and it does everything it says it does. A small bonus is that the remote works off a radio signal so you do not need a line of sight for it to work. The headphone jack on the remote is also terrific.

Easy to use. Kids can even work it. Works great and easy to install.

I bought a Sony Bravia "smart" TV, but the streaming ability built into that set fell a little short for me. I decided to get the Roku 3 and I'm very happy with it's performance and ease of set-up. I recommend this unit to anyone that wants to know what streaming device to buy.

Great price, ridiculously easy to set up and use. Bought this particular unit because of the large buttons for Amazon, Hulu, and Netflix - and the earphone jack - thinking it would be easy for elderly family members to use. It was, it is, and it has been the perfect item to let them enjoy a wide variety of shows, programs, music, movies, sports, etc.
