Customers are saying

Customers value the 3 Streaming Player's ease of use, smooth streaming capabilities, and intuitive remote control. Many appreciate the voice search function and the device's compact size. While some users noted shorter battery life and occasional heat generation, the positive feedback on performance and picture quality outweighs these minor drawbacks.

    Switching from DirectTV to Roku

Had FIOS, DirectTV, and Comcast for years, but when standard service plus 4 receiver with HDTV and TIVO cost $160 a month. It was time to cut the cord. I got the Roku 2, Roku 3 and Amazon Fire (might get the Roku 4 later once I upgrade a TV) since I got 4 TVs. The Roku 2 and Roku 3 is very similar, the only thing I use is the headset opinion on the Roku 3 headset when I am in bed and do not want to wake up my wife. Other wise I really don't see the difference. The Roku 3 is very easy to use even my 2 year old know how to use it. If you sign up for Sling and either Netflix or Amazon Prime, there isn't that much difference then cable/Direct TV unless you have to have those music channels, MTV, NFL ticket, etc. I pay $20 a month for sling compare to $160 for Direct TV. You do the math.

I use this instead of the built in smart TV features. The Roku is great because it has all the different apps and services in one place. Menu and UI are snappy and responsive. Picture looks great at 1080p (I use wired ethernet).

    Best Way to Stream

This is the 3rd Roku I have owned. Roku is an awesome way to stream content to your TV. It performs well and has a wide variety of channels. Unlike some competing players, there are not any missing channels that were remove because they are from competing companies. The remote is very nice and the new search by voice feature works extremely well.

We went to another store and purchased a device which did not work at all so we returned it. My husband did research and went to Best Buy to buy the Roku which works great. It is easy to use. I enjoy being able to stream shows on our second TV when I am working upstairs. I like Best Buy because their customer service has always been good.

I've enjoyed the Roku family of products for a while. This particular version is a little faster than some previous ones. It also has a great microphone jack built into the remote so you can use headphones regardless of your television's feature set. I truly enjoy my Roku 3. It also has a LOT of streaming services open to it.

Great buy. I would go with the 3. The headphones with the controller is a GREAT feature and i love to use it when i work out since i work out under my sons room when he is asleep in the basement. Easy to use, great wifi and remote connections. great apps. Mainly got it cause of Vudu. The voice search is decent as well.

The Roku 3 works just the way you need it to - it's small, unobtrusive, simple to hook up and operate, and it just works great for most of the streaming services. Tried it with Netflix, Amazon, Plex for local media, and a bunch of the news and entertainment stations on the internet, and it all just works as hoped.

Voice search is easy. It just doesn't work inside downloaded apps. Earbuds work great. Easy to setup and use. Quality of picture is good. I set it up with my sound system with no issues.

The Roku was very easy to hook up. All it required was an HDMI cable and port on the TV. The on screen set-up was self explanatory and easy to follow. There is a large selection of channels programmed into the Roku. I am using this in a spare bedroom as an alternative to getting another cable hook-up.

I have both Amazon Prime and Google Play accounts in addition to the standard Netflix and Hulu accounts so the Roku is the perfect piece for me. Easy setup, great walkthrough wizard. Just wish they would put the ok button in the middle of the d-pad like everything else, but otherwise it's great.

The Roku is a perfect addition to any space with a TV. It is especially useful for guests as the interface is easy to use and understand. I had no trouble setting it up and it runs very smoothly. Definitely a product worth having.

The Roku 3 is the best streaming player I have used. It loads content extremely fast and the remote is better than some of the others. You don't have to point it directly at the device for it to work. There is also a headphone jack on the remote so you can plug in your headphones.

Roku has the best mix of content. I have a chromecast as well and haven't really touched it since I got the roku. I like that it has a real LAN port as well. The remote also works very well. I would add that the roku 2 has pretty much the same features as the roku 3 without the games. If I had to do it again I maybe would have saved a few bucks and got the roku 2.

Directions were very precise, I had this set up in a few minutes. I am a 77 year old great grandmother if I can do it so easily, anyone can. Roku 3 has lots of channels to download, some are pay channels some free but there is enough free to keep me satisfied. Roku help desk is great and I find it very easy to download the channels, can either do it on the PC or on TV screen, I find it easier to do it on the PC. Am planning eventually to give up cable bills> I wish I had done this sooner.

Was using the online system through my TV after I broke my old Roku. Missed the speed and menu layout of the Roku, so I bought another. Navigation so much better and really like the headphone plug-in. Decent range and my wife likes the quiet when I watch action movies.

    Roku 3>Roku 2

Ok, so to start I really like Roku as a brand and had previously owned a Roku 2. Roku 2 was a really good product and I enjoyed it immensely. It has the best options for streaming video bar none. I was constantly loaning it to my daughter all the time so I figured what the heck and just gave it to her. I replaced it with a new Roku 3 and I'm so glad I did! Way more features for not that much more money. Higher definition 1080p rather than 720p and my favorite feature added was the remote now had a headphone jack and headphones. So cool! Great feature, as it allows you to watch with the tv volume off. Great for watching shows late at night without disturbing anyone else. Anyway, Roku rules and is worth the money!

This is such a great product! It's easy to install and offers so many options for viewing shows and movies. I especially love the headphones jack on the remote and the app that is available to use. It is so easy even my techno illiterate husband can use it! Great idea!

Tried old Sony BR player for steaming and after frustration with buffering and a ton of research chose Roku 3. Like the direct plug or wireless option and remote with headphones over the wireless only models. So far works perfect and never buffers. Great little device

I purchased this for a friend. He LOVES it. He didn't even know what it was or what it was for when I bought it for him. It's easy to set up and use. He's considering getting rid of his cable now. I have an AppleTV at home. I hate to say it but the Roku is better.
