I was debating between several different devices but ended up settling on Roku. It's compact and has an additional USB port. My old Sony DVD player didn't have HBO Go or YouTube but now I can access everything with my Roku! No complaints here, only praise!

When my WDTV Live started showing its age, I started researching for a streaming player which was fast and has excellent app ecosystem. Based on vaious reviews on bestbuy.com and other major sites, Roku 3 topped the list. Once I bought and plugged it in, Roku 3 did not disappoint. Intuitive menus and excellent streaming performance. Initial setup took time but I liked that I could register channels on laptop/smartphone and channels getting updated on Roku. Overall it was excellent... Except Roku launched its revamped line up in a week after my purchase. Sadly Roku 3 had to go back. looking forward to pick up Roku Premiere+ at BestBuy soon. One downside I found with Roku/TV networks is, even if 90% of TV networks have Roku channels, TBS/CW prefer to not give same streaming support on Roku as their android apps. You can cast via your phone but then I can do same with Chormecast. Hope existing networks continue to support Roku platform and keep updatong thie channels.

More memory, faster processor, and it doesn't hang up on channels/shows like the Roku HDMI stick sometimes does. (some channels do that with older/smaller equipped devices...cough cough...Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles on the CW stream...cough cough). About my only dislike was my daughter dropped the remote on the floor and the battery door won't stay closed all the time now. The "OK" button isn't in as friendly a location as the other Roku remotes, but the Roku 3 does allow you to play audio to the remote for late night viewing of movies without waking the kiddos. In all, if you want an inexpensive device, the Roku stick works fine (albeit it hangs up on only a few shows). For an older analog TV, the Roku 1 has RCA ports on the back...(also good if you wanted to interface with a video capture device on your pc for whatever reason...) The Roku 3 seems to have enough speed and memory to load shows faster, plus the audio feature with the remote. For free media, it's a decent deal. Who needs cable or dish? (movies, music videos, youtube shows, educational programming, and plenty of 1980's cartoons...)

Most common use is Netflix. I had been using Netflix via Tivo, Netflix on the XBox, and the Netflix app on my Vizio tv, but they were slow and clunky. I am really impressed with the speed of browsing titles. Setup and adding other channels was easy too.

I have a smart tv and dvd, but their interfaces are slow and clunky! I bought this based on a friend's recommendation and the interface makes it a joy to use easy to find stuff and quick.Not perfect but better than my other devices - speed is the main benefit

I added this to my tv that already had streaming built in, but the Roku works so much better and faster. The voice search is awesome. Very easy to use.

Roku 3 is an easy to use device that was easy to install. I like the ability to use a remote control with the device. The only downside is that it occassionally freezes up when loading a program. Overall, I am happy with it and would recommend to others.

We originally had an Amazon fire which was buffering all the time. So, we decided to try a Roku and are glad we did. Very fast and easy to navigate.

This Roku allows me to connect to the internet from the ease of my recliner when at the end of the day my legs hurt and I need to elevate this. No more sitting in a chair with legs continuing to swell. It was easy to hook up and get connected.

Our old Roku got the death knocks so I went off to just replace it with the same model. Until I saw this little beast. The voice search and earphone jack in the remote quite possibly saved my marriage! Ingenious! And they actually work which is a huge bonus! Just say what you are looking for and it searches everywhere, not just Netflix or Amazon Prime. What a time saver. And the earphone jack... sheer genius! Now he can watch his westerns til the cows come home and I'm off to snoozeland. Bliss. Great price point for such great upgrades.

The speed of programs loading is AWESOME! What an improvement over my previous Roku. Love the earphone option. The remote is a bit small but still gets the job done and you DO NOT have to aim it at the Roku to make it work. Yeah!!

I've really enjoyed using the Roku. I've used my DVD player for a long time to access Netflix and Amazon to watch videos. The Roku is so much faster and easier and more reliable to use. It's optimized for this service and a joy to use.

I did alot of researce before buying this roku it was easy to set up and we have had no issues with it so far loved it so much went and bought the roku stick for thebedroom tv

I have used various Roku models in the past and have always loved them. This is no exception. It has everything I liked in the previous models, except that it is faster and has the headphone jack on the remote. Highly recommend!!

Had a Samsung blue ray player with Netflix and stuff on it, but it is a few years old and we started having connectivity issues when watching Netflix. Picked up the roku and couldn't be happier. It's extremely fast and easy to use.

Great selection of apps. Provides multiple choices if what you wish to see is offered via multiple sites. Great ease of operation including the voice search which has been fast and responsive. 5 Star rating without hesitation.

I chose this model over other Rokus because I wanted the "lightning-fast processor," ethernet port, and point-anywhere remote. I get fantastic quality on Netflix, Amazon, etc. using this Roku and would recommend it to anyone.

I like the new version with the special purpose buttons - Netflix and Amazon Video especially. Easy setup and I like the way the remote works (don't need line of sight).

The roku install was a breeze. Just plug in a power cord and HDMI cable and the simple menus walk you through the start up process. Many different options to stream various content with no issues with connectivity or buffering.

The Apps work flawlessly, Streaming made easy. set up was a breeze. The interface makes it easy to go back and forth between apps.
