This is probably my 6th or 7th roku device, not counting the integrated Roku on one of our TVs. This is my second "Roku Premiere". I bought the first one a little over 2 years ago back when it only offered 4K with no HDR and the unit was shaped much like the current Roku Ultra is now.
I bought this Premiere to go with a 55 inch 4K tv that I use in our basement when I work out. I had the original Premiere device up on my 65 inch 4k TV in the living room. After using it for the first time though I have now moved it up into our living room on the bigger TV. Here is why.....
When I initially started using it on the 55 inch in the basement I ran some Youtube videos that demonstrated 4k HDR from one of the TCL tv's. I was shocked by the increase in color saturation, brightness and dark levels. Now I have never had any complaints with the image quality of either of my two 4K Tvs but neither is HDR compatible (8-bit + FRC panel) according to the manufacturer. That is what made me so surprised by the performance on both tv sets with this new Roku Premiere. It most definitely added something to the image quality in those key areas.
I have attached two demo images to illustrate what I am referring to with the HDR performance level.
In every other area I have zero complaints with the Roku platform and with this particular version of it. I will continue to use Roku as my choice for streaming.
P.S. I am going to buy another Premiere...the HDR image looks that good. ;-)

The Premiere is so much easier than the stick+. I bought the Roku Stick+ based on high ratings. Was returned in less than 24 hours, what a piece of junk!!! I exchanged it for the Roku Premiere and am very happy I did.
For the Stick+ I followed all the directions but the remote wouldn't pair with the stick, then I started reading all the solutions, unplug the stick, remove the batteries, re-plug in etc. etc... Nothing worked. Then started searching for solutions via google and you suddenly find out this seems to be pretty common and there's a known issue where sometimes the stick might get interference from other hdmi ports so you might need to use the hdmi extender you can get for free via mail from Roku... If it's that common why not just put the stupid extender in the box!!!
Was extremely frustrated but also was looking for Roku for a solution to have all my streaming readily available in one place. Took the piece of junk Stick + back to best buy less than 24 hours after purchase and exchanged for the Roku premiere.
Premiere plugged in, remote connected right away, had everything set up and running in less than an hour. Don't waste your time with the Stick +, not worth the headaches, spend less money on the premiere and have a much easier set up experience

I’ve been using Roku products for several years but I wanted to get one that I could directly connect to the internet instead of wireless since I got rid of my cable and depend totally on the internet and Roku for my TV viewing now. I wanted the best signal and the best 4K as well as HDX picture and sound I could afford. This satisfies all my needs and was a breeze to set up. Also this remote has a few features that the cheaper ones don’t have. It has TV volume control which some Roku units have but it also has a mute button in case you get a phone call and it comes with ear buds you can plug into the remote for private listening that doesn’t disturb others. I considered getting it but thought it was a little too expensive then I found it on sale at Best Buy $20 lower so I bought it, worth the money for me.

Works great and easy to use. Old plasma Panasonic st60 tv is outdated but picture quality is better than most modern tvs. 9 years strong. Roku took care of the outdated part. Thumbs up and cheap.

One of my best purchases yet; this is replacing my 6-year old Roku 1. I have been eyeing an upgrade, and this was on sale during the holidays for $19.99, and I had a $15 gift card. After a day, though, it was marked down further as a special for $18, and Best Buy refunded the difference. So I only paid $3. I have cut cable a long time and enjoyed what Roku offers. This has a much smoother and faster interface replacing my old one. I purchased mine on the 19th of December, and as of today, the 14th of January, no hiccups, nothing wrong with the device. Instructions were clear in setting up, and I love this thing; I have no regrets.

I’ve already had a roku but it was MUCH more expensive and I still love it works great. So this Black Friday I decided to buy another roku for another tV in my home and this one was much less $ but once I connected & set it all up it worked just as good as my other roku. Took less than 5 minutes to get it set up and started using it. Super small box compared to my other one I think it’s perfect and not at all noticeable. I highly recommend this one it plays just as good picture quality as the more expensive ones only difference is my other controller has a power & volume buttons on the control the links to TV. Other than that they both work GREAT. AND price is good.

I couldn't believe this was so good as it is. Really worth of the money. Super easy to install and works like o'clock . Tons of movies and channel's you really can see without extra charge and then there's more if you want to order. Easy to use as well. Sometimes it gives you warning for over heating but only briefly.
I would not recommend it to install to be attached on the TV etc. since then it seems to be giving those over heat warnings more often. We installed it on "loose" to avoid over heating and that seemed to be working. Price was really good, You must try this to believe it. Believe me , it's worth for more than you can image.

This is the 2nd Roku Premiere I buy. I got the first one for my mom. That unit proved so easy to set up and use that I bought another one for myself. It hooks up to my wifi well and the streaming is very smooth. I bought it on sale for $29.99. I had considered buying an Apple TV, as I already have one on another TV, but this is much cheaper and does absolutely everything I need it to do on a bedroom TV. If it were for the living room TV, I probably would have bought another Apple TV for its extra functionality. It would be nice if the Roku remote had a full or slide-out keyboard, but that would add cost and complexity.

I purchased this recently and brought it on vacation. I connected it to a 4k HDR TV, and was pleasantly surprised by the picture quality, ease of use, and the size. The unit itself is smaller than the remote, and comes with some tape so it can be affixed to the TV so it won't move around. A power adapter is included, but the TV had a USB port that supplied enough power so I just used that. Overall, a very nice form factor and the easy Roku interface I've come to expect.

The device is very easy to install and works great. I was surprised by the amount of free programming on the Roku Channel itself. This particular model does not come as a "stick" like most of the others, instead it is a small box with an HDMI cord that plugs into the TV, and a power cord that plugs into an outlet. The remote works by IR so the box must be in line-of-sight for reception. These restraints did not concern me, but if you want a 'stick' version with Bluetooth control you'll have to spend $10-20 more on the newer Streaming Stick or Streaming Stick+ models. Although the streaming functions are the same as the newer models, which are excellent, I only give this model 4 stars because the remote control does not include TV power and volume control, although I knew that going in.
If you are willing to spend more for the Streaming Stick models, I would go with the 'plus' version which incorporates a better antenna than any of the others; they both include the newer WIFI 802.ac standard, TV power and volume controls on the remote (along with some supposed voice control features). I only purchased this cheaper model because it's for a secondary older TV and the WIFI reception worked well enough.
I preferred any of the Roku models over Chromecast because I want to have an actual remote control and not have to rely on a smartphone!

I currently have 3 of these. They are the best plug and watch steaming devices. Comes with a piece of double sided tape so you can stick it to the edge of a tv and being black like my tv’s it is barely noticeable. Stays up to date with the all the good streaming services. It‘a fast! Switching between streaming apps is a literally a click away. Remote also has short cuts to 4 different apps. If you misplace the remote the iPhone app allows you to control it with ease.

I bought a Roku mainly for Disney+. I own an Amazon Fire Stick also. I bought two additional Rokus because the fire stick would continually lose its internet connection and take forever to load the apps. Once the show/movie started to play it was fine, but it took forever to get to that point. I do not have that issue with the Roku. It is fast and easy to use. The set up was quick & painless. I like how you can customize the home screen for your most used apps.

With the use of the Roku smartphone app I still have the ability to do private listening with headphones and I can type in my searches with my phone keyboard rather than just scrolling and selecting each letter with the Roku remote. Unfortunately, at this price point you won't get the voice search or volume control options which I so wanted. I made the choice to save the money on that by getting the Premeire and no complaints about it really. Vid quality and Roku interface are the same! No limitations on apps or anything else that I've observed either. I love how compact and light the Premiere is and how much Roku has really cut back on packaging (less plastic!). Other things to note: 1. It's not a universal remote that comes with it (you really have to be on level and point directly at the small unit) but the smartphone app acts like one. 2. They really mean it when they say you can only use the mounting strip ONCE. 3. If you have an older TV and it's having compatibility issues using an HDMI splitter in between the Roku and the TV worked for me.

I’ve been using Roku for over a decade at this point. In my opinion the best streaming interface. Simple. Easy to navigate. The device is really small.
We picked this one up because the streaming sticks we have would overheat on certain streaming apps. In particular we had issues with Amazon, YouTube, and HBO Max.
So far so good with this one. No tv volume controls on this remote though.

Making the move from cable to streaming meant getting one of these for the not as smart TV in the house. Great picture quality, great price point. I didn't need the bells and whistles of the expensive ones, but I wanted better speed than I might have gotten from the stick Roku. Easy enough for the technophobic household members to use.

I recently bought the Roku because the new BluRay player I got a couple of months ago doesn't work well for streaming (as it was advertised to do). I have a Roku in FL and it works so well, I decided to get one for MI. This one streams perfectly and it was very easy to set up. I wish it had come with better instructions on how to use the remote, but I'm figuring it out by trial and error.

I highly recommend getting a Roku to anyone who uses streaming services. It’s so easy to set up, the hdmi cord is included, and you can get the app on your phone to use your phone’s keyboard to log in to your various subscriptions!! It’s very intuitive and easy to use, and fast. It’s much faster and has a more reliable connection than my smart tv. My family has used it every day since we bought it.

This Roku is nice and small. I mounted it to the bottom of my tv and it is very unobtrusive. It comes with sticky tape and is quick to put into place. The Roku is much faster than other streaming devices (i.e. Fire stick). Minimal buffering (probably the only buffering issue is my DSL internet). I'm about to buy another of this exact same Roku model for my living room tv.
