I bought this product to act almost as a sort of center channel speaker for my bedroom set up. I currently have three linked Apple HomePod products in my bedroom. I have two Apple HomePod minis (stereo paired as a left and right front channels) and a regular Apple HomePod (back corner of the room) to cover more of my dynamic sounds (highs and mids) and bass. HomePods are all linked via AirPlay and all sound and work great together for pretty decent immersive sound in a bedroom. I saw and read this Roku device was now compatible with other AirPlay devices so it seemed like a really good option for the money to bring into my setup as a sort of center channel. The device does indeed pair with my other speakers via AirPlay. The only issues I have are the sound and connectivity issues. Connectivity issues I can’t blame entirely on Roku. Seems connectivity and AirPlay could stand a bit more attention and consistency from the Apple end. It is sometimes difficult to get this item to sync with my three HomePods and often the audio is a little off creating and echo effect. Audio lag. Other issue is the sound quality. First let me say that the value for the money is pretty decent. The actual audio volume and power is quite good even often being louder at the same volumes as my Apple HomePods. This said sometimes more is not necessarily better. While the speaker can be loud it tends to be a little bit muddy. The highs and bass in particular could definitely stand to be a little bit more crisp and deep. So the sound is quite boisterous but not overwhelmingly pleasing to the ear. So I am not exactly sure how the actual Roku features work as I don’t use it really to access Roku. I am simply using it as a speaker to combine with my other airplay speakers. So I cannot speak on the value of the speaker for its complete intended use. The television in my bedroom is already a Roku television and I don’t even use that as I use AppleTV 4K. So my overview is for the money it’s just decent. I would not expect to be blown away (literally or figuratively) if you purchase this item. It’s an OK addition to a bedroom AirPlay set up where you are not necessarily looking for dynamic audio surround capabilities. It definitely will enhance your listening volume when up against most built in television speakers. Wish I could say I was blown away but just not the case for me.

I was actually quite surprised at how much of a difference this sound bar makes while viewing our television. I highly recommend this.
Really good watching Netflix, Hulu, and other apps you can stay on your TV

Great Sound Quality and it really makes the best out of your tv with the quality it outputs!
Awesome piece of equipment. Roku player plus a soundbar. Small but powerful.

Just what I was looking for to pair with a 27" computer monitor for the kitchen. Activated my streaming subscriptions and doing the dishes is not boring anymore.

I am very pleased with this roku sound bar. Set up was quick and painless. The voice remote is very convenient as well. The soundbar has incredible depth and range for how small it is. I was very pleasantly surprised. It is very compact and fits perfectly under my t.v. on my t.v. stand and looks great doin it. The price was great and I haven't had any issues with functionality at all. Best buy sincerely is the best place to purchase from as well. There are knowledgeable employees ready and able to help which is sadly not common anymore and the experiences I've had have always been a delight.

This review is going to focus on the Streambar as a sound bar. There is what essentially amounts to a Roku Express 4k+ built in to the device. Like all Roku steaming solutions, it is simple to use. The Roku Streambar punches above its weight when it comes to sound. I am impressed with how well it sounds and how clear dialogue is when using this small speaker. Don't get me wrong, this is not some monster mega sound bar that will fill a large room with sound. It is a replacement for your TV's internal speakers that will direct the sound towards the viewer. While dialogue is not as clear as it would be in a good sound bar with a dedicated center channel, it comes pretty close. Certainly close enough that I was able to turn the captions off on my television. Setup was a breeze with my Sony X80J. The Sony TV recognized the Streambar immediately and was able to configure it for use. Your mileage may vary in this department, but I found it super easy to setup. For giggles, I also set it up on an older TV using the Optical audio port to see how easy it was. It was surprisingly easy. The Roku software makes setup a breeze on that end. I even had my aunt who is certainly not technically inclined follow the directions and set it up. The biggest issue I could see is if you need to change settings on your TV itself. There is a whole eco system of Roku audio out there. If you pick up the other items in the eco system, the Streambar can become the centerpiece of a surround sound system. With the addition of the Roku subwoofer ($179 at the time of this review) and Roku wireless speakers ($149/pair) you can expand to a 4.1 system (with one pair of speakers) or a 5.1 system (with two pairs of speakers, turning the streambar into the center channel). With that being said, as you start to add components, the value proposition evaporates. At $89 I found the Streambar to be a good value. At the time of this review, the Streambar is currently $99. Still, that's a good value considering that you get a 4k streaming box built in. Adding the subwoofer kills the value. If you purchase the Streambar and Subwoofer together, you've shelled out roughly $280. You can pickup a quality sound bar from another brand for less than that with similar performance and then buy a separate Roku device for less than that Streambar + Subwoofer combo. Bringing it up to a 4.1 or 5.1 channel setup is just too expensive when there are other quality sound bar options out there that will deliver similar or superior performance for less. I offer one caveat to the value proposition though, ease of setup. I picked up an Onn branded Roku subwoofer from Walmart ($129, much less than the one that carries only the Roku branding, but also less powerful), and I was able to pair it very easily using the on screen instructions. After reading the instructions, I believe that the wireless speakers would be just as easy to pair. This eco-system is incredibly friendly to those who are not technically inclined. Simple to setup, simple to use. If you are someone who has trouble hooking up devices like this, the Streambar and associated eco-system may be for you.

Great Sound, Easy setup, but only Wifi connection...I prefer a wired connection. So, I tried 3 USB 3.0 (j5, Platinum, etc.) Ethernet adapters...did not work. The TrendNet USB to 10/100Mbps Ethernet to USB adapter Model: TU2-ET100 Plugged this in & works like a champ!

Bought three of these. One for my kitchen and two for my parents kitchen and bedroom. Easy to setup and sounds great. The bass boost and voice clarity boost options really improve the sound. Looks nice, doesn't take up much space, and a HUGE improvement in sound quality over built in small TV speakers. I still recommend something larger for your main family room (I have separate receiver with sub, center channel, and four surround speakers)

Put this in my parent’s basement and WOW! The acoustics down there are amazing. So when this thing started playing a test sound thingy at setup, I felt like there were speakers behind me. It was wild and crisp! Plus, rolls built in so super convenient
