NICE AUDIO AND VIDEO. INTERESTING VIEWING. THE DVD

This production is one of the most expensive in the history of television.... And it looks it! Funding was generously employed to recreate an impressively detailed set featuring a number of Roman Villas, the Forum, and a vast slum area of the ancient city of Rome. Except for the fact that that everyone speaks English (although all the writing is on Latin) you would think it was real!

This is really a great series for those who have an interest in both the history and culture of Rome. While it takes artistic license on some of the historical aspects, it never seems out of place and you feel like you really are looking at the power struggles in the late Republic. Every episode leaves you hungry for more. Definitely recommend!

This was definitely a stepping stone for HBO into the exotic productions they have now with such TV's shows as Game of Thrones. Though this series is short, it covers quite a lot of history that later shaped Rome. Acting is superb and production is better than most movies.

HBO re-released Rome Season 1 on blu-ray with a Digital HD code. Season 2 in the same packaging with Digital HD seems to be non-existent. Other than that, HBO quality release as usual. Great transfer, sound, etc.

I loved how the story was based from the view of two soldiers. You see their side, not that of the larger characters. Though it is great, you cannot let the kids watch it. Definitely for after bed time viewing.

The series Rome is an excellent TV series, It gives you a glimpse into Roman daily live through the view of two soldiers in the Roman military. Will definitely recommend this to my friends.

On par with Game of Thrones. Love these period pieces. Wish they produced more than 1 season. Hope HBO brings it back. You will love this series. Not for kiddies, so be forewarned.

A gripping drama about Ancient Rome, with Caesar, Marc Antony, Cleopatra and Brutus, as seen through the eyes of 2 soldiers, intrigue and battles galore!

Season one is very cool,action,drama, I love it,and I would get season two also because you will want to see more of Rome after watching this season!

Rome is fantastic! They did an excellent job with the high definition with the Blu-ray version. I have lost count of the number of times I have watched this series.

This series looks like and is filmed like a feature film, to say nothing of the high quality performances by it top notch cast.

As an ancient history fan,I find this series a MUST have for my collection.When you think about the influence of Ancient Rome on the world today, it is amazing

this series is really good and any fan of the Roman period should take a look at the inside intrigues that went on in social life in those times.

This 2 season series is short but full of action, drama, a lot of stuff I cannot put in this review over all u cannot go wrong with bloody fights

I always have been interested in the Days of the Romans. Saw this in Best Buy in Auburn and bought it. I was not disappointed!

great historical significance and a great plot that for once does not focus on the major characters but rather on ordinary people.

i thought this show was excellent in terms of plot intensity and ending..this show laid the ground work for game of thrones
