I lived watching it again. I wished that it was full screen

A true landmark when it first aired, Roots became the template for the mini-series form, and while it's fun to look at, it's a bit creaky to look at nowadays.A bit too clean looking, and strange to see O.J. Simpson playing an African native. Worth seeing if you've never seen it, but that's about it.

The product was great just had a hard time finding it..the Best Buy closest to me Westheimer /Highway 6 said they had one copy but couldn't find it.. So therefore I had to ride to the Galleria location where they had several copies on the shelf .. Went back to the highway 6 location a week later and they FINALLY had copies on the shelf .. Go figure .. I don't know whose responsible for ordering there Blu ray movies but they need to get it together .. I go in there weekly to buy movies cause I'm a collector and spend a ton of money with them cause they're closer to where I live .. But something has to change or else I will start ordering on line from Amazon.. That's my review!

had not seen in 30 years, nice to watch again. Price was good, added to my collection.

Saw this when it first came out. Wanted to see it again. The sound was way off from the lips. At times as much as a few words. Hard to enjoy. Would have taken it back but the 2 week return policy was up. Not every purchase is a good one.

I remember watching the show when I was 13 years old. And now having the show on Blu-ray from what I can remember it's all there complete and unedited. This was something that I was worried about on the previous DVD releases. The sound is fine, It's in DTS but I know it is in mono. I have to say that this restoration / transfer to Blu-ray is remarkable! The image is crystal clear and sharp for a television programme that was shot in 1977. The special features are fine I wish there was more behind the scenes special features . If you grew up in the 70s and remember watching this program you will thoroughly enjoy it! I cannot praise this Blu-ray release a enough! I really hope that Warner Home Video releases Roots The Next Generation and Roots The Gift on Blu-ray soon!

I use to watch this TV Movie series as a kid. I liked it then but didn't understand it's message. Now as an adult with my own children I felt it was neccessary for my children to know their history. I think our kids take things for granted. They need to understand the past so that they can appreciate the present.

This is a film that everyone must see.Its hard to believe that we can be so cruel to each other.This film traces Alex Haley's family from Africa to the U.S.A. during the Civil War.The performances were unforgettable.The film shows the struggles of a black family trying to be free from slavery .

I Think everyone has either seen or heard of the classic ROOTS 7 Disc Mini-series from ABC TV in the mid-seventies. I bought it at an insanely low price of $9.99 (normally $50 to $70) was a no-brainer. Now if Best Buy would do the same for the next generation sequel that would be a fantastic conclusion to own the complete set. Thanks Best Buy

This is one of those movies that everyone should have in their catalogs. Watching it when i was younger and now while i am older is a difference of, for lack of better words, "really getting it". Great movie!

This by far is a must see for your family. I purchased this for my family to watch in an effort to observe black history month. We all were GLUED to the TV. My kids were begging each day to watch more and more. They learned so much! You MUST purchase this.

this movie is shown in high schools throughout the country to give people an idea of what slavery was like. it is a wonderful movie.

This is a great movie. I'd definitely recommend it to a friend.
