Do to the extreme heat wave that was coming I had to purchase an A/C. I wanted something portable to move around from living room to bedroom. Its rather light compare to older models. It works great in a room when you close all the doors and windows. Took about an hour to cool the room down.
Con: It cannot be confirmed, but the one I received possible had to have been a refurbished unit which i was upset but in dire need of A/C. The packing wasn't they way it should have been if it was new nothing had tape or secured the way you think it should. Since I only order 1 I have not way to compare. The vents on the front are loose and don't fit in the holes like it suppose too. If I would have had time I would have returned for a NEW one.
Its good for a big room and worth the money around $300 on sale.

The body of the a/c unit is bulky, but not in comparison to others. I will say the exhaust tube is a poor design, and really inconveniently placed. Haven't used the heat yet. It's been too hot. Overall we are happy with it

HISTORY: This unit replaced a 10,000 BTU Insignia. Both units (previous & current) were within the square footage capabilities of my bedroom.
PROs: 12,000 BTU cooling capacity; heater function; timer; color (didn't stick out like a sore thumb); compact design; ease of air filter access; straight-forward controls on the unit.
CONS: HUGE con is that it is WAY too slow to cool. The remote is sorta big for the functions you can control (and it has a button that does nothing); no 'swing' function of the louver air discharge; should have a better design for the exhaust hose (restricts maneuverability).
SUMMARY: I only gave this a '3 Stars' solely based on the fact that this unit cools the room SO slowly. My previous 10,000 BTU unit cooled much faster. The price and brand reliability were good, but so were a few of it's competitors; compare other brands before purchase.
