Submarine warfare

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and watch it frequently. Clark Gable and Burt Lancaster did a great job of acting in this movie. There is a tremendous supporting cast as well.

Great submarine movie.

It reminded me how hard it was for our navy to fight the Japanese during WWII. The problems they had with the torpedos and their detonation pins. Too many times there was no explosion on contact with enemy ships during war.

bluray was good quality and was delivered early

Excellent WW2 sub film

Very believable, indeed. The movie itself concerns an American submarine commander who is obsessed with going after a Japanese destroyer that sank his previous boat. The movie isn't flashy, but relies on realism to stoke anxiety.

Suspenseful and Well Acted

The story portrays World War II submarine warfare, and deals with themes of vengeance, endurance, courage, loyalty & how these emotions (& patience) can be tested during wartime.
