    Rurouni Kenshin: New Kyoto Arc

Rurouni Kenshin series has been fun to watch. I originally watched the 2012 live-action film released from Japan and got hooked. This series follows Himura Kenshin, a former assassin who vows never to kill again and tries to repent for his past all the while using a reversed-blade sword. The storyline is sometime after the live-action film. In short, Kenshin and his friends must defend the the city of Kyoto from the bad guys. Kenshin is a notoriously skillful assassin so the fight scenes are what makes this series great along with some of the sides stories. The graphics are well done and the blu-ray looks good. I did some research before purchasing this product and found this was a remake of the original Kyoto Arc two-part series with better graphic and a storyline that is compacted. I never watched the original series nor the original Kyoto arc stories so this was all new to me and the research helped me understand what was going on. The disc has both stories included unlike the original so you don't have to look for a second disc to purchase. English and Japanese language w/ English subtitles are available though the subtitle cannot be turned off. Special features only provide previews of other animes. The two parts combine for 90min. It helped to watch the live-action film first but isn't necessary to enjoy this anime. If you're hesitant about investing in this series, do some research and if anything, wait till the live-action comes out in the US. The attached trailer may make this series interesting.

Very good Kenshin movie for those looking for Kenshin newly animated... Plot was changed from the manga/anime in different parts but still a decent two part movie overall.
