This DVD is for RWBY fans everywhere. It is chock full of Bonus Extras, like fan art, a "making of" segment, Director Commentary track, Voice actor commentary track, all the original Red, White, Black, Yellow trailers as seen online. Viewers can opt to watch episodes separately or select a "marathon" mode and watch the whole 1st season as one continuous, uninterrupted movie. I was lucky enough to watch a "marathon" screening of the 2nd season last October at Alamo Drafthouse and this is definitely the most fun way to consume the RWBY story. The visuals look beautiful, perhaps even slightly better than via streaming. The backgrounds in Season 1 are unfortunately often amateurish and cheap, all the focus is on superior character designs and fight choreography, Monty Oum's strong points. In any case, I encourage viewers to check out the improvements in background art & side characters for Season 2 for comparison. The main characters, Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang, are cute & endearing, though Weiss is a bit of a stuck up "Tsundere" at first. Besides being a Rooster Teeth fan I'm also an Anime fan, so this volume was definitely a "Must Buy" for me.

This was a terrific piece of domestic anime, well voiced and thought out. The characters are fun to watch as the stories unfold. This is a terrific anime-IF you can FIND it! if I had to say anything negative about it, is that I ended way too soon for my tastes, and ,perhaps a little more about the backstory of this world would be nice. Still, it was a good first outing from the company and I EAGERLY await the (hopeful) release of season 2!

this anime about ruby rose goes to academy to become a huntress. i love the graphics.

I had originally watched RWBY online with Roosterteeth, and I've been hooked ever since. Like with Red VS Blue, when it came out in stores, I knew I had to buy it. I binge watch this show, as a movie, with my boyfriend all the time and I've even gotten a few friends hooked to the show. It's amazing!
