I remember watching this series back when I was a "tween" in the early 70's. As much fun as I had watching the "Bewitched" series years earlier, I absolutely enjoyed this series when it first premiered because it dealt with a teenager who was "different" trying to fit in with the "normal" teens of the day. Being an African-American "tween" in the 70's and going to a newly integrated junior high school, I could relate to the themes of being different, wanting to fit in and having to be cautious about my "differentness" so as not to bring unnecessary negative attention to myself. I thoroughly enjoyed watching these episodes again and plan to purchase the companion DVD set of the Archies series. (I just gotta see the "Sugar, Sugar" music clip again!!!) In retrospect, this series was too girly-girly; it's 70's sensibilities about teenaged relationships were slanted heavily in the favor a girl's perspective ... and even then it was a bit removed from reality. But that was the whole point! And in 1970, I wasn't engaging in a whole lot of analysis while I was laughing at the antics of Sabrina and her cat Salem! Nor was I cringing at the 70's mod-style of Sabrina's boyfriend's dune buggy! All in all this would be a good DVD to watch with your kids or grand-kids to kinda give them an idea of what 70's teenagers were like; that's is ... you can stop them from cringing and laughing long enough!

Obviously I cannot write a true review since I am posting this on April 25th, 2008.
But to update the product information for those interested, this DVD collection of Sabrina the Teen-age Witch features the Filmation Studios productions from when they had the license to animate the Archie Comics characters between 1968-1972.
Melissa Joan Hart's TV series and companion animated series from the DIC Studios, featuring a much younger version of the title character, were produced in the late 1990s.
