'Salem's Lot was the first novel by Stephen King I read and partially got me into horror. I didn't see this film until way later, but it's a fantastic, just, and great adaptation! The steelbook casing makes it totally worth the purchase

Wanna get scared? Can't say don't watch this alone. Doesn't matter if someone is with you or not with this movie. Get this one and be afraid to even go outside. I'll stop there so no spoilers are in my review.

Salem's Lot is originally a Stephen King novel from the 70's. A little short on the blood because it was a TV movie, but still a great flick!

A really scary movie without the gore. One of the best Steven King stories put to film. An absolute must see for fans of horror. The full length movie as it originally broadcast on TV.

More years ago than I care to remember, 'Salem's Lot was the first book I ever read by Stephen King. I have always been a horror fan, in books & movies, and though this filmed 'Salem's Lot was a TV film, it was very well done and retained it's scary atmosphere. Coincidentally, I reread the book not long ago when recovering from an operation, and it held up well. When I had the opportunity to pick up the Blu Ray recently, I took it and I must say, I probably enjoyed it even more this time around than I did originally back in the 70's.(Seems like a long time ago!) David Soul was never a favorite actor of mine, but he did a very creditable job in the lead role in this film. Tobe Hooper is a very experienced Horror Film director, having done the classic Texas Chainsaw Massacre, among many others, so all the elements clicked together well. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a creepy evenings viewing.

Watch this to see what happens when you go away for awhile and return to your hometown to only find out everyone is different in a bad way. That's all i can say without any spoilers.

I have never seen this movie, even when it was on video tape. I did read the book though. I hope the CD version is as creepy, or creepier? Long live "The King" of horror.

This is a Solid Blu-ray and great steelbook of a classic Stephen King adaptation. Comes with a digital copy, which is why I chose this over the standard Blu.

This is one my favorite moves from the late 1970s. I was really happy to find this steelbook and add it my collection. The front cover is pretty cool.

One of the few Stephen King movies I had not yet seen. I picked it up on a whim when I saw it at the store. For the age of the film I thought it was very good. If you are a King fan I recommend it.

Having owned the original WB dvd release, this is a nice upgrade quality-wise. Still no special features though. Recommended for fans of the movie but just casual viewers may want to stick with the dvd.

This successful miniseries from Tobe Hooper was eventually cut into one long three hour movie. It can drag at times, but Hooper manages to successfully bring King’s novel to the small screen.

Not a bad idea for a TV movie way back in 1979. Tobe Hooper (yes that director who made 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre') directed this scary masterpiece based on the Stephen King novel. The debonair James Mason playing a ugly twisted servant to his hideous Vampire Master (played with gory delight by Reggie Nalder). David Soul (Yes - that " Hutchinson " of 'Starsky & Hutch' fame) portraying the savior trying to stop all forms of evil before it engulfs the populace. Horrorific and diabolical in atmosphere yet bloody and terrifying in pace. Enjoy this rare TV treasure which could've done very well at the box office.......
