I read this book over twenty years ago; this movie is good but not surprisingly there aren't many effects. More Blu-ray extras would have made it an even better buy.

It's been a long time since I've seen this movie and it is even better in Blu-ray.

I saw it when i was young and really scared me... its a really ggod vampire movie.

Salem's Lot based on Stephen King's novel of the same name is an enjoyable movie despite it's slow pace. The movie was released on tv in 2 parts during the 70's. It stars acting legend James Mason as one of the villains and was directed by Tobe Hooper who made Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The movie has a spooky atmosphere which overcomes some of the wooden performances. Unlike most made-for-tv movies, Salem's Lot was shot on film, not video, which makes this an impressive hi-def presentation. I wanted to watch this movie many years ago when I was child. I don't remember why I missed the premiere, but I am glad that I watched it on blu-ray for the first time. The picture quality is outstanding. Salem's Lot may not compare to today's best horror movies, but it still is creepy

Very nostalgic and scary. A great addition to my Stephen King Movie marathon.

Nothing beats old school writing, ofcourse the graphics and acting are also old school but the attention to detail in the story is perfect!

This in my opinion is one of the all time great horror movies, and my favorite vampire movie. I remember watching it on a Beta-max in the early 80's. I was excited to watch it again on Blu-Ray. The picture quality is amazing! It is full screen which was a bit disappointing. But I would rather it be full screen as to preserve the aspect ratio and not have them crop out part of the picture. The steel book looks great with the graphics they used. If you are looking for a classic horror movie, I would definitely recommend this one. For the price, you can't go wrong.
