I did not watch this when it first came out way back when. I thought it would be scarier.

Maybe I need to give this another shot, but this series dragged on without much delivery. Granted, it was 11:00pm when we decided to pop this in, and an hour and a half into it we gave up.
I read the book, so I had expectations that were met with pretty campy tv series direction.

A Vampire Classic at this price? GO GET IT!

'Salem's Lot' is a classic. For this price, you get a great film--the transition of this film and the picture is stunning--the art in the steelbook is great, both inside and out. And the best thing? get to own a piece of old-school horror cinema--forty years later and the scares are as effective as the first time it came out.
So, a classic steelbook film, at this price? It's a steal (pun intended)

This is a fantastic made for tv horror film from 1979. It aired on two different night's on tv. Tobe Hooper directed this and it has an all star cast and a great plot too. I bought this dvd at Best Buy a few years ago and I highly recommend buying it, if you can find a copy, because it has been discontinued by the studio. The only thing missing on this dvd is that there's no commentary or any extra's.
