Though his people, the Israelites, are enslaved by the Philistines, Samson, strongest man of the tribe of Dan, falls in love with the Philistine Semadar, whom he wins by virtue of a contest of strength. But Semadar betrays him, and Samson engages in a fight with her real love, Ahtur, and his soldiers. Semadar is killed, and her sister Delilah, who had loved Samson in silence, now vows vengeance against him. She plans to seduce Samson into revealing the secret of his strength and then to betray him to the Philistine leader, the Saran. Victor MAture and Hedy Lamarr make this film exciting to watch!

I nice film for Biblical epic movie fans. Victor Mature is an excellent Samson. For the most part the story line follow the biblical story but their are a few Hollywood

Fans of director Cecil B. DeMille will instantly recognize this film as one of his greatest Biblical epics. "Samson and Delilah" tells the famous story of how the Hebrew strongman Samson was betrayed by the sensuous Delilah, Remaining very faithful to the original Bible story, this film contains some of the most spectacular and moving scenes ever put on film. But here's the good news: after a delay of many years, this film is finally available on DVD. The improvement over the video tape version is amazing. The picture is crystal sharp, the sound is clearer and fuller, and the colors are amazingly vibrant. These technical improvements make the many action scenes even more enjoyable. (I played the DVD in my Blu-ray machine, and it looked even better.) Since it's not an actual Blu-ray (yet), the only drawback is that this DVD offers no special features. Nevertheless, seeing this film on DVD is such a great improvement over the old VHS version that it's like seeing this exciting epic for the very first time. Buy it and enjoy!

Stories about the Bible are very good stuff.......

Watched this movie as a kid and still enjoy watching it from time to time. When I saw a blue ray for a good price. I wanted to add to movie collection. Great picture quality.

i have the dvd and wanted to gain the added boost of the blu-ray edition...its very good, but i do not think it is as GOOD as the Ben-hur 1080p remastering...but yes, its worth the added few bucks over the DVD....lets wait for the 4k version of BOTH, and all the wardrobes and garment fabrics will POP on the screen...awesome movie..love the story...so much so, that I have made a NAZARITE VOW myself to not take a razor to the hair until the covid-19 pandemic is over...:-))

Good story, like the part when he kills lion, and picks up the big guy like a toy. Men will always fall for the Gals. Enjoy it. Good clean movie fun.

an excellent blu ray transfer. cant imagine its more than 50 yrs made. a must for classic movie collector especially lent is coming . own it!

This DVD movie brings back so many good memories. Very well made and acted and we never get tired of watching it. Our original copy was in bad shape - so when we found out it was available, we immediately bought it.

I can remember my Mother reading this story from our family Bible. To see the words come to life makes me enjoy that time with Mom more precious.

"Samson and Delilah' was the top grossing move for 1950 for Paramount Pictures! It has been a long time coming to DVD. I'm hoping the restoration will be worth the wait. Enjoy!

The wonderful classic Samson & Delilah is beautifully presented on a very reasonably priced blu-ray disc. Don't hesitate to pick this one up.
