    This microwave is okay. It does what it's supposed to. The center metal rack is pointless so we removed it. If you're using the timer function then you can't heat anything up, which is weird. I wish that we'd gone up to the next higher model. Maybe it'd have had better performance.

    My wife thinks I'm a freak when it comes to the effort I make when I research before purchasing items. I do online research and then check out actual items on store shelves (if possible). Though I'm sure that she is just equally happy that I am a practical shopper and able to avoid "unnecessary" extra cost like limited extended warranties, delivery and installation fees. Would I want a convection, grilling or wi-fi connectivity? Sure, but I am just not ready yet to shell out 2 to 3 hundred dollars more for "just" a microwave. This microwave is one of those examples of good value that, I hope, may last us a few years. This is a small upgrade to the Kenmore microwave I replaced. It shorted after only 4 1/2 years of use. Those upgrades are: sensor cooking, soften/melt function, single large front-mounted vent inlet with quick-release for easy cleaning, 4 speed vent fan with charcoal filter for ductless venting, slightly larger cooking area (1.8 cu/ft) with dark enamel easy-clean coating, and fingerprint resistant stainless steel surface. If you look at other brands, you could easily spend more for less features. I consider this a great value package. This is my first endeavor into Samsung appliance. Some say it operates loud but I feel this is actually quieter than the Kenmore. I also like that it takes less effort to open the door and that it closes a bit more softly. Believe me or not but the vent screen was actually the deal-maker for me. With a slight push you can release the screen and degrease it in the dishwasher. I'm saying goodbye to those crusted screens with flimsy release hoops. Installation was average for over-the-range microwaves and the old microwave mount helped since it fits almost exactly the same area, except for slightly different placement of the top bolts. The cord passthrough was the same. It was light enough to lift by myself unto the mounting plate while my wife secured the bolts (an automatic screwdriver came really handy). The only thing i found faulty is the installation manual. The installation for the charcoal filter was for an older or different model. For someone (presumably) less handy than I am, removing a couple extra screws than the instruction provides to slide the filter might be daunting. There are slats or tabs visible behind the vent grill but the grill itself is secured on the bottom with adhesives. The plastic grill has a bit of flex to carefully slide the filter into position.

    If you only need it for a couple of years.....

    This microwave was fine until it stopped working. Purchased on 08/31/18. The microwave stopped heating on 04/05/21. The microwave I had before this one lasted 13 years before it stopped heating. The only thing I really used the microwave for is popcorn and maybe sometimes heating up food. What a waste of money. Now I have to spend another $200 plus on a new microwave. Very disappointed.

    DIssapointed and had to return it

    Right after we got it installed it had problems. The display would flicker as soon as it started cooking and often would end up stopping on its own. The clock would reset when this happened. We ended up returning it to BB and got another brand microwave.

    Have had this for less than 2 years and it no longer heats. The door also has a defect which developed over time. When it was installed I did not notice and as it became noticeable Samsung pretty much said tough luck. Not a samsung appliance fan

    Overall microwave is good but door closing is cheaply made. The clip in the microwave to close the door broke so now I have to hold the door closed for microwave to work. It was 1 1/2 yrs old when it broke

    After owning this for almost 3 years the door doesn't close! Do not understand why. I purchased 3 Samsung kitchen appliances and ALL 3 have been giving me issues. WTH Samsung!!!

    Stopped working just under 2 years old!!!!! Humidity sensor is broke! You would think with a over range microwave that they would be built to withstand the steam/heat from the stove. Other people have had the same problem. I am so disappointed!!! Please DO NOT BUY unless you plan on buying new in 2 years or I would definitely take the extended warranty! My 2 year old Samsung refrigerator had door issues and was fixed multiple times and now my 2 year old Flex stove is also broke! The quality of their products have really gone down hill! Will NEVER purchase Samsung again!!!!!
