I am extremely upset!!!! Bought a new microwave but it does not heat correctly.Typically it only heats a cup of water starting at 65.75 F in 120 seconds to only 96 F. This is the average of 4 tests....Called Samsung and an appointment was arranged for the morning slot February 4.. This was confirmed on Thursday the previous week...Today the scheduled time was moved to a 405pm slot. Called Samsung 3 times as I had to cancel an appointment with a cardiologist to accommodate the service call. The technician arrived and I showed him test figures of 12 tests....He took a cup of water, did not check the start temperature, put it in the microwave for 30 seconds.... He could not measure the end temperature as he did not have a thermometer and I offered my thermometer to him...Not knowing the start temperature there is no way he could measure or get an idea of the effectiveness of the Microwave....He made a call and then told me the microwave is withing specifications....A rise of 30.3F in 120 seconds at 100 % power only make the water lukewarm...I replaced my previous microwave, samsung model SMH 1816S 1.7Kw wiht this one that is also a 1.7 Kw unit... On my previous model, I could heat up a cup of water in 60 seconds and could cook 2 potatoes (2-2.5 inch diameter) in 20 minutes.. This unit, after 20 minutes, the potatoes are still completely raw....The technician insisted that he cannot do anything as the microwave is within spec....I beg to differ and if needed is willing to go to court.....Existing ticket number is 4152158498 ....after an extremely frustrating day with 4 calls to your support department changed appointment times, I am ready to take further action if this unit is not repaired without delay....Last support guy said I can expect a call in the next 48 hours to arrange another service call...which can then take up a few days before they can attend to the unit

This is the biggest piece of junk I’ve ever bought. I will never buy another Samsung product again. It didn’t even last five years and was barely used. The door now won’t lock and they can’t do anything about it, so it’s basically an over priced paper weight. It also scratches very easily and none of the preset cooking options ever worked. Stay away from Samsung.

This microwave worked great for a few years but then one day decided to turn itself on when I opened the door to retrieve my food. Yes, it turns on whenever I open the door! I called Samsung about the issue and they wanted to schedule a service call, but it was out of warranty so if have to pay for the repairs - which I declined. I'm now shopping for a new microwave and it will not be a Samsung. Completely disappointed with my Samsung appliances. My dishwasher has had service three times in the first year (software issues).

I bought one in 2012 and now it don't work!

I bought this microwave in early 2012 to match the other Sumsung appliances in my kitchen. Now on Jan. 27th 2015 it does not work. It has no power at all. I checked my breaker and the outlet and they where working. I called the 1-800 number and was told it is out of warranty. It is only 3 years old!! They gave me a number to call to get it fix and that company told me it would cost $100 for them just to look at it. After $100 plus parts and labor, it would cost as much as a new one.
I think I should get some kind of discount for a new one!

I have had my microwave for just more than a year, so it is out of warranty. Suddenly, it just completely stopped working as if it isn't getting power. Checked the circuits and the outlet which are fine. Over $200.00 to fix this piece of garbage seems like money down the drain. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS OR ANY OTHER SAMSUNG APPLIANCE!! CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED!!!

When we got this unit home we had it installed. It worked fine for 24 hours then went it dead for about 45 minutes. An hour later it suddenly came back on. It worked twice fine, then developed a loud clicking noise that would not stop. Not wanting to take any more chances I returned it to Best Buy where I was told they would not take it back because the power cable was modified during the installation. They would not exchange or refund and only offered to carry it back to my car. A better retailer would have made the exchange anyway and had a customer for life. This chain chose to lose a long time customer over the price of a microwave.

After just over a year of use, the turntable began to make a clunking sound while in use. Doing an online search I find there are hundreds of others who have experienced this same issue. Seems like a design flaw to me. And of course the unit only has a 1yr warranty. So I would have to pay to have it fixed. Another gripe I have is the door latch is very loud when you close it. Even when I try to close it slowly. I will never buy another Samsung again.

Purchased this microwave about 3 years ago and it worked well. It is noisy, but, I could live with it. Then one day, it just turned off. Had a tech come in and he said it would be cheaper to buy a new one. Its really heavy and located above my stove, so, no one wants to take the risk to check the fuses on this; so, bought a new one and will be donating the old one for parts. If the new one breaks after 3 years, I will not be purchasing Samsung microwaves in the future.

I purchased this Samsung microwave 13 months ago and it just so happens that 1 month after the warranty expired, the microwave no longer works. I called Samsung and they sent a repairman out to fix it for me. The estimate the repairman gave me was over $350! More than what the microwave is worth brand new.

The door did not latch after 20 months. Warranty is only 12 months. The turntable does not sit in its center pivot. so it slips and will not rotate. The reheat takes a long time. The vent fan comes on when using the range oven and cannot be turned off manually. The top filter is very difficult to remove. The defrost is weight only, not food type. Would not buy again.

The turntable is designed to, well, turn. The continuous rotation generally assists the microwave in providing more even heating of your food. When it's not rotating correctly, there's often a grinding noise (or the setting is turned off). A dirty track or roller ring can also cause it to get stuck. Finally, make sure it's positioned correctly so it can work.
When a microwave isn't starting or heating, it is most common because it is in Demo mode. This mode is used on retail showroom floors to show off microwaves without activating their magnetron. The microwave also won't heat if it does not have enough clearance or ventilation. If the microwave turns on but does not heat, checking a few settings and the installation will help resolve the issue. This applies to both regular microwave heating and convection heating.

Lasted 6 years door broke wuthin the first year, repaired it and last 5 years now the front cover broke, the light underneath never worked for more than a day after replacing it, plastic piece vent cover just fell the other day.

I am only 2 weeks past my 1 year warranty. Even though I only installed it 10 months ago, but that doesn't matter to them. It just stopped working the other day. Paid service man $65 and he told me he has to come back to take it down from above the range. It will cost approx another $100. Not risking that much money for a piece of garbage. Now I have to get a new one and I'm definitely not going to get another Samsung

I had my kitchen remodeled three years ago and bought all Samsung appliances. Of the four items purchased, microwave, range, dishwasher and refrigerator, all but the dishwasher have needed repair. I love the layout of the refrigerator, but the ice maker should not stop working after only three years of light use. The microwave stopped working almost immediately after being installed and needed multiple parts replaced. The range heating element in the oven and the convection fan stopped working after about two and a half years. Thank goodness I have a home warranty as none of these repairs were covered by Samsung. As I can afford I will start replacing the appliances with a different, more reliable brand.

Not good. 3 years after purchase the door handle broke off and the “Samsung” lettering on has delaminated. Now I’m left with a microwave that’s out of warranty and defective. Cheap cheap cheap.

Do not buy from Best Buy

Best Buy sold me a used or refurbished microwave that was listed on their website as new. I had the microwave delivered to my home and when I opened it, it had a dent on the side. 1st warning that the microwave was not new, I didn't realize at the time but I did not pull any tape or plastic off of the microwave like I did for the real new microwave I just bought from another store. 2nd warning that the microwave was not new, I only had the microwave for less than 2 months when it stopped working. I contacted Samsung to have them fix the microwave. The repair Technician took apart the microwave and noticed that the microwave was not new and suggested that I take it back to Best Buy and exchange it for a new one. I took the Technicians suggestion and returned it to the local Best Buy store. Here is the reason why I will never give Best Buy another penny of my money, I explained to them what happened and that I just wanted a new microwave - the same model. They did not exchange the microwave or give me the exact model I wanted. I did get my money back but Best Buy wanted me to purchase the new microwave at the current price which of course is higher than what I paid 2 months ago. Best Buy is probable using Geek Squad to repair broken electronics and passing them off as new.
