After I installed it over my stove it worked fine except the glass turntable would not engage to the drive in the bottom. Something is not right with the design or this batch of microwaves.

Mine lasted only 15 months from purchase before is just stopped cooking. Called Samsung, had to deal with a foreigner I could barely understand, and yes the tube is covered. BUT, the service call that I have to pay for is $109 for a unit that is on sale now for $199. Of course, if it is not the tube, I would be on the hook for even more money. I decided after looking at other reviews with similar stories that I would avoid Samsung for any appliance. They should stick with cell phones...oh yeh, I know. I bought a Whirlpool for $199.

The build of this microwave is lacking. The first problem I had was a very strange one. The microwave would turn on by itself in the middle of the night. Samsung replaced the control panel free of charge. The next problem I had was the handle coming off. How hard is it to make a handle that stays on? I superglued it back, and that seemed to work well, but I was always concerned it would come loose again. I finally got rid of all my Samsung appliances—I had issues with all of them. Samsung makes great televisions, but that excellence does not extend to their appliances. Avoid this brand in appliances.

Stopped heating after less than 2 months

We bought this on 05/23. On 6/30 it stopped heating. Everything else works, just no heating power. I've been given the runaround by Samsung since I contacted them on 07/5. Their initial service was 07/10, follow up was to be 07/13. Tech didn't show even though updates kept coming in. Phone call found out ticket was closed out because service provider no longer authorized. So now 10 days into dealing with this and it will be even longer to get a new company to come out and assess then order parts and repair. A defective microwave shouldn't take this long for replacement/repair.

GARBAGE!! I purchased a 3 piece bundle - Microwave, Dishwasher, and Fridge, all failed within two years. The Ice maker failed on the fridge, the microwave continues to run after it is shut off and the dishwasher beeps and shuts off before finishing a cycle. Idiot me did not purchase an extended warranty and they are now out of warranty and I Have to replace them. Do not purchase, find a better product than Samsung. Garbage

If I could give zero stars, I certainly would. Like a fool, I have bought two of these microwaves. The first one absolutely DIED after just a year of use. In order to make installation of the replacement microwave easier, I bought another of the same model. Big mistake! After just under two years of use, the second microwave has also completely died and must be replaced. At least I bought the extended warranty on the second go round so I don't have to pay for this next replacement. But on the downside, I have to have yet another of these absolutely horrible microwaves.

Worst microwave from a name brand

Bought this 2 yrs ago to replace a 10-year old GE over-the-range microwave - this turned out to be worse. The door handle came off, screwed it back, but the molding that holds the screw on the other side of the door cracked, handle got loose and could not be replaced. Called Samsung but was out of warranty. I have other Samsung products, but this is their worst-performing. Not worth repairing as I would be spending more for repairs than getting a new one - definitely not a Samsung!

Issues with door latch

Purchased Samsung microwave in 2014 after having GE microwave over 15 years. Had problems with door latch after 4.5 yrs. Had repaired even though it cost more than original purchase price. Having same issue 1.5 yrs later! Samsung service only offered to send someone to repair it at our cost. Not willing to spend any more money to repair again since have no confidence that it will last. This previously Samsung family will now be switching to another brand!

DEAD after 2 years

The Samsung over range microwave worked fine until it didn't. Simply dead after 2 years. Checked all fuses and all were fine. It just stopped working. No recompense or help from Samsung. In fact we bought 4 Samsung appliances when we remodeled our kitchen. All are second rate at best. Very disappointed. That being said, Josh at Dedham Best Buy gave us impeccable, friendly, professional and respectful service. Best Buy/Pacific Appliance is very lucky to have that young man's employment. So to him we say, thank you!

Microwave stopped working after 3 months

Spent more for this microwave and for the first time I've had a microwave fail, this one after 3 months. I didn't buy the protection since with 5 microwaves I've never had one fail until it was 7+ years old. Best Buy wouldn't even talk to me about it. I'll shop where a company will stand by their products for the short term without charging extra. The appliance repairman who came to check it when it stopped consistently working said to stay away from Samsung appliances.

Bought this microwave 3 years ago and it has stopped heating. Called Samsung customer service for repair of the magnetron and they had a service subcontractor contact me. In order for them to come out and look at a defective part there would be a $110.00 service fee plus and additional $40.00 travel fee. Read the comments on line about this microwave....hundreds of issues with this microwave. I have multiple Samsung TV's that are great but the Samsung appliances are terrible, DO NOT BUY

My wife and I purchased all of our Samsung products the microwave oven is the worst product Samsung could ever make I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone I have reached out to Samsung corporate office and they have given me the runaround!! I WILL NEVER BUY SAMSUNG AGAIN!! After spending $4000+ on Samsung appliances I have had multiple issues. This microwave made it maybe 6 months before completely dying. I called Samsung and Best Buy only to be told that it would cost more to replace the part needed then to replace it. I am sorry but that is absolutely unacceptable! Out of all of the appliances I bought from Samsung (at a Best Buy store) I have had issues with 4 out of 6. Have had to replace 2 so far.

Failed completely 5 months later

It dies just before Thanksgiving week. Thanks Samsung. While we were initially please with this microwave, it died entirely yesterday, just five months after we purchased it. This is the second time I've had a Samsung appliance fail completely (the other was a refrigerator). While customer service is sending a technician out to in a week to 'fix' it - we're going to have to get through a Thanksgiving meal prep without a microwave.

Every time we turn on the oven it heats up the filter housing on the microwave and then the filter falls out. Samsung sent out a repairman, he said "the worst place to install this range hood microwave is above the range". Wow. Where else would you install it?

I purchased this microwave a month ago. It died this morning while cooking breakfast. Of course, Best Buy only has a 14 day return policy and now I'm stuck trying to get this fixed through the manufacturer. This is my second Samsung microwave to malfunction in less than two years. The last one died 13 months after purchase - just past the warranty period. Pick another brand -- especially not this model!!

Worked less than two weeks. Yes, you read that right - Less than two weeks. Used it to warm things up - normally, three minutes or less. And, i did not use it every day in those two weeks. Last time I used it was to warm up something for two and a half minutes. In the middle of heating, the microwave just shut down. No lights, no usage, doesn't do a thing. Just died. I am beyond disgusted. Never again Samsung.

Just like other reviews, the magentron on our unit went out after 3 years. Samsung claims they warranty the part for 10 years but they require their technicians to diagnose it. I spent 2 hours on the phone and multiple emails but could never get the technicians to even call me back to setup an appointment. Ended up buying the part online and having a local appliance place fix it. Last Samsung item we'll ever buy....run far away!
