Laptop is good, Geeksquad refurbishing is not

This laptop is thin, light, and, thanks to its SSD cache, faster than anything else in it's price class with a touch screen. I have no complaints about the laptop its self.
Geeksquad Refurbishing has terrible quality control though. The first laptop I recieved had no OS installed, so I returned it and reordred it. The second one's touchscreen failed after about 18 days and would randomly drag the cursor to the bottom right of the screen, randomly register non existant clicks, and cause other issues. It was replaced under the 90 day warranty. I would have no problem buying another Samsung laptop, but would never buy another Geeksquad refurbished product.

Very good computer for the price. Was looking for a notebook that I could do school work with and surf the internet. Was a little sluggish with certain programs but the boot up time is awesome and I upgraded the memory to help the speed a little.

I am not very happy with best buy or the samsung laptop, I ordered the laptop back on 6/10/2012. finally received it on 6/17/2012 within the first hour the laptop had too many issues with the touch gesture screen, could not be controlled and the battery got real hot. I contacted best buy and was told to return it, well its 6/29/2013. Its finally made it to its destination but has not been delivered to best buy as of yet. and when I contacted bestbuy I was told that it would take another 7 to 10 days for them to process the laptop for refund/credit to my account. which means, its the worst investment I have made. 1 month later I still don't have a laptop and now im stuck waiting. I cant recommend a store or a laptop at this day and age.

I bough this refurbish laptop, it arrive within 7 days. The setup was OK. But when I check around the laptop, there is a gap opening between the top and the bottom. I have to return to BestBuy next day.
when turn on the laptop, it takes longer to get inside.
I like the size and the look of this laptop.

I bought this computer just over a month ago for business/personal use. It had always been somewhat slow and glitchy, but I wasn't sure if it was because of the computer or Windows 8 which I was not used to using. It was ok until I was saving the DVD slide show for my sister's wedding, and it completely crashed. I couldn't turn it off, I tried letting the battery die to restart it, and finally found the stupid reset button(you can't actually access the battery). Nothing worked. I lost my wedding speech and the DVD for her wedding. How awful! I have no clue why it stopped working, and it still does nothing but give me a black screen. DO NOT BUY THIS!

I purchased this laptop brand new(not refurbished) from my local Best Buy in March. In the store I was impressed with how the computer looked and felt. I was also lured by the $100 off promotion Best Buy was running on laptops with touch screens that used Windows 8. I think I paid $599 for the computer after the discount(not bad).
First off, and this is no fault of Samsungs, but Windows 8 is as truly awful as most people say it is. I hated it. Also, even though I thought it sounded cool, I never used the touch screen capability and can't imagine I ever would. I have an iPad and that's the only touch screen I need.
Second and most upsetting about this computer was it's inability to keep a wi-fi connection at my house. None of my Apple products had any issues with internet connectivity, only this Samsung. After spending hours online researching possible fixes(judging from the postings, Windows 8 has plenty of connectivity issues) and trying different "fixes" nothing worked. Sometimes it would keep a connection for hours with no issues. Sometimes it would cut out every few minutes.
I called Microsoft which was zero use. I called Samsung several times and they were very helpful, but my issues continued until finally they told me to ship it back. I had just loaded EVERYTHING on this computer and wanted to avoid having everything wiped out. My last resort was having Geek Squad come out and of course while they were here the computer worked perfectly. The Geek Squad guys best guess was that the "wi fi card"(I know I'm calling it the wrong thing) was bad. Since I am a Silver rewards member I had 60 days to return the laptop and I was on day 59. The next day I went to Best Buy and decided I was going to pony up the big bucks and basically pay double what I paid for the Samsung and purchase and Apple MacBook Pro. I've had the MacBook for almost a month now and it's AMAZING! Zero issues. NEVER loses a connection.
Although I have an iPhone, iPad and iPod I always thought it was crazy to spend that much on a MacBook but I was wrong. The MacBook Pro is worth every penny and even though I've only had it 3 or 4 weeks it just seems like a very high quality product that will last a long time(I hope).

Operation System Never worked

I purchased this laptop and it arrived very quickly. However, when I first turned it on, it would not setup at all. I was able to setup a password but the password screen would come up 2-3 times just to lead me to the setup menu which only had 3 options. The first 2 were the same and no matter which option I chose it would return to the setup menu and do nothing else. I called customer service-they couldn't do anything for me. I made appointment with Geek squad the next day. They could not do anything either and just said the operating system was no good. I would not recommend this item.
