Customers are saying

Customers commend the 22.1 Cu. Ft. 4-Door Flex French Door Counter-Depth Fingerprint Resistant Refrigerator with Food ShowCase for its spaciousness, with ample shelving areas, and its Flex zone, which is well-liked. The counter-depth design is also a hit, as it adds more space to kitchens. While many appreciate the showcase door and the overall design, some customers have concerns about the ice maker's inadequacy and the refrigerator not being truly fingerprint resistant.

    Great Mid-High Counter Depth Fridge

The Flex zone on this refrigerator is awesome - you can change it to extend your refrigerator, freezer or you can set it to age or store fresh meats! It's great to have ice and water on the door, though I do agree with some reviews that say the ice capacity is a bit light. That said, if you know you'll have a greater need for ice, buy a bag... Filtered water is great! There is ample storage in the main refrigerator area, but if this is your only Refrigerator/Freezer, you'll probably need to use the Flex Zone as additional freezer storage...but having the ability to change it to suit your needs is awesome!

We had to replace and a counter depth would fit better. We knew we were gonna lose fridge space but we're ok with it since one of the freezer sections would be used as a fridge. So far it's great. I did dismiss the reviews about the fingerprints thinking they all do that but this one does show more. I guess because no handles. Still would buy again.

This fridge is pretty darn cool! I love the fact that i have 1 compartments that is flexible (3 options). This makes it very convenient along with the show case door for quick access without letting too much cold out, making it very efficient. Pros: nice looking, flexible compartment (flex zone), quick use door (show case) Cons: icemaker could be more robust, finger print magnet! I will recommend this item

We are pretty satisfied with our fridge we purchase however the only issue we are facing is the amount of ice that creates. We are people who do go through a lot of ice and the amount that is able to be stored on this fridge is a lot less than our old fridge. I was pretty upset about that.

This is a superb refrigerator only caution the real height of the refrigerator. The “crown” on the top front of the box must be included if you have a built in box. I had to have my cabinet cut to accommodate the Crown on top. Love the refrigerator otherwise!!

I had originally chosen a french door fridge with a lower drawer, but turned out I really didn't like the drawer concept. I need more organization so turned to this one instead. In addition to be awesome looking, the freezer section is outstanding. I traded a bit of fridge space for it, but it was so worth it. The black stainless is a tint that scratches so so easy, but I think if I'm careful it'll all be good. Love it!

4-door, flex seemed like a good idea at the time. Between the internal water filter, the ice maker, and the drawer and bin set up, the space is cramped and difficult to organize. That was ok until I tried to clean the drawers. There is a “gunk” trap between the drawer front and body. The trap is not accessible for cleaning without disassembling the drawer...and possibly (actually) breaking the plastic. I’m left with the choice: (1) live with food particles and liquid gunk in unreachable spots, (2) risk breaking the drawer by taking it apart, or (3) purchasing replacement drawers. None are acceptable given the price of this appliance. Poor design Samsung!

Took delivery in June 2018. First the good...the four door concept is a little difficult to get used after having a side-by-side forever. One of the freezer sections actually has the flexibility to be used as refrigerator or freezer. We have only ever used it as a freezer. You do not have an option to select temperatures...freezer is preset at -1 degree and refrigerator is 34 degrees. The refrigerator does maintain temp uniformly which is a good thing. I was afraid that something that close to freezing may ruin fruits or veggies but that is not a problem. Now the bad...the icemaker is pure trash! I am so disappointed I did not research first. Come to find out it is a well known issue...there is even a Facebook group advocating for a recall. To start off, the icemaker (when it is working), works slow. It constantly dribbles water e water/ice dispenser on the door. The icemaker constantly ices up and stops making ice. I had it replaced once under warranty but that did not solve the problem. When I contacted Samsung again, I managed to convince them to provide new parts but they would not pay for labor. I told them to put it where the sun don't shine. Basically now I have to defrost the icemaker with a hair dryer once a week to keep it working. Not only does it make ice slow but the bin is much smaller than comparable refrigerators. I am the only one in the house to use ice and I am constantly running out during the summers. The ice maker also dispenses ice s-l-o-w. Forget trying to fill a large tumbler during a commercial break. Crushed ice? Worthless. This fridge more or less breaks SOME of the cubes but definitely does not "crush" ice. Here's hoping we consumers can convince Samsung to issue a recall that will fix the problem once and for all!

Do not buy any fridge from Samsung that has the ice maker on the Fridge area. Samsung has not figured out how to maintain the temperature from the ice maker different than the refrigerator. Geek Squad has changed ice maker 4 different times in a year and still leaks water and creates frost inside. After the 4 different ice makers they sent an outside repair person that mentioned there is no fix and my refrigerator already had the recall, now the ice maker makes noises when dispensing ice and started leaking melted water from the ice again. Best Buy refuses to change fridge for lemon policy because it does not cover ice makers (I have the 5 year extended plan from Geek Squad), if it was an issue with the ice maker it would have been fixed 4 times already its is not an ice maker issue, its a design issue, there is even a Class action suit against Samsung because of it. DO NOT BUY!

My wife and I elected to buy the counter depth model, which I believe comes in at approximately 22 cu. ft. We love have the 4-door french door model as we find it easier to organize our freezer. Our prior experience with the traditional french door is that food can get lost and forgotten on the very bottom of the freezer drawer. With this 4-door model, we feel better able to organize our foods. The bottom right door is a flex zone, allowing us to use it for a freezer or other purposes. We currently use it to chill beverages. I forgot to mention: the showcase door is always a cool feature; my wife insisted on a model with the showcase door. This allows easy access to items (such as my baby's milk bottles) without having to open to whole refrigerator door. Ultimately, our decision was down to this model and the Samsung 22 cu. ft. counter depth side-by-side refrigerator, which has a full showcase door on the right. Samsung's side-by-side I thought is very sleek and simple with that throwback/nostalgic classic look. Not to mention that it is a couple hundred cheaper than the more modern french door models. However, I found that the width measurements for the freezer of the side-by-side was smaller than the width measurements of the 4-door french door model (though not that much smaller). So we elected to buy this model in case we needed to throw in a turkey that was a few inches fatter. I recommend bringing a measuring tape with you into the store when you're shopping for a refrigerator to measure all of these little nooks and crannies and entryways. Also, with the side-by-side, you wouldn't be able to slide it trays of food or something that is pretty lengthy/wide, like a box of pizza. With the 4-door french model, you can easier put a tray or whatever. Though the counter depth model sits very flush with our counters in our kitchen, you are paying more for less space, which seems very counter intuitive. However, if you do not have a lot of space in front of the refrigerator or if you just want that clean/flush look, you can try to justify in your mind that the extra price is worth it. Given the smaller size, there are some shelving areas on the inside side of the left door of refrigerator door that are so small that not many items fit there. I've found myself placing my son's cheese singles in these areas. If you see the model, you'll know what I'm talking about. This model itself isn't that noisy, but you can notice it if you pay attention. With the noise pollution outside of my house, the dishwasher running, washer/dryer running, and screaming kids, I don't pay much attention to or notice the noise. I do not know how this compares to other models. The ice maker and water dispenser work perfectly. I am curious if the ice maker/storage is smaller than the regular-sized refrigerator. This may be something you inquire about should you be interested in this model. After they first install the refrigerator, they tell you to dump the first batch of ice and the first 2 gallons or so of water to clear out the sediment in your water line. When is emptied my ice maker, I got the impression that there wasn't a whole lot of ice to dump out; so perhaps the storage is smaller? I haven't confirmed this. Overall, I am very satisfied with this model. It is very sleek and modern looking; I purchased the stainless steel model. I believe they make a black stainless steel model for a higher price tag. I would have preferred the color scheme but couldn't justify paying the additional money. I was going to give it a 4-star for sizing issues. However, I (consciously) paid more for the smaller size for that more flush look. I am not going to dock points based on sizing issues that I elected to buy. For a counter-depth refrigerator, it's pretty sick.

The negatives are space - it doesn't hold as much as other fridges at this pricepoint, and smudges and fingerprints are inevitable, but if you can live with those, the Showcase door is great for kids and milk and sodas, etc. The ability to customize the bottom right door is really useful for our family, since we don't use a lot of frozen stuff, we can get back a lot of fridge space. It's absolutely lovely looking, inside and out. i never fail to appreciate the stainless panels inside, and the LED lighting. it's also nice and quiet.

Great Space Save, Terrible Ice Maker

This fridge is very nice looking and has performed very well overall. It was a challenge getting used to less space as this was our first counter-depth refrigerator, but the added space it provided was enough to keep us from wanting to remodel the kitchen for a few more years when it physically needs it from cabinets breaking down, etc. There are a lot of great, modern features, which we find very handy to have as we utilize the SmartThings app already for home security. The black stainless steel finish is incredibly beautiful, and the doors have held up very well over three years of ownership with two young and rowdy boys in the home. They loved having their own little section of the refrigerator and has helped make them a bit more independent in getting their own snacks. The only real problem has been the ice maker. There was an apparent design failure that was causing the ice to freeze up, and that was repaired. That was discovered around one year into ownership. Well a year and a half later, here I am now sitting with a melting ice situation that is not at least re-freezing and blocking up the ice maker. I have never been a fan of in-door ice dispensers, and this one has lived up to all my fears. Overall, I would still recommend this refrigerator. Being more shallow has helped us reduce food waste since there is not a lot of depth for items to get shoved to the back, and the extra space has been great to have. The Flex Zone has been very well worth it, as well, and was the primary driver to select it over the LG competitor at the time.

The 4 door counter depth is perfect for a couple or small family. The flex zone is great but there are four preset settings not a temperature set you can choose. However the four choices are fine for any items. The ice maker is a little small and having only one cube size other than crushed is not the greatest. The cube size is too small for only one choice. This is the only reason for the 4 stars. It looks and works amazing
