It's a beautiful fridge. Although, the fingerprint resistant statement is not true. I also wish the fridge doors closed on their own like other fridges. They're basically not magnetized I'm assuming, you have to manually make sure the door is completely closed. Other than that fridge is aesthetically pleasing.

Counter depth refrigerator! The flex drawer in the middle keeps all of our beverages nice and cold. Love the auto water refill container inside the door.

We really like the looks and design of the refrigerator. Ice dispenser seems adequate though we don't use it a lot. Initial concerns about space have been alleviated, things fit pretty well.

Shopped a lot of counter depth refrigerators this Samsung was the best looking and fits perfectly in my new kitchen. Price was lowest at Best Buy and delivery was readily available. Flex drawer is very handy, filtered water tastes great and keeps everything nice and cold. So far works well and is easy to keep clean.

So far, no issues. The fridge is great because it was the less door depth of other counter depth refrigerators, which I was looking for. I'm not as crazy about it as I was my really nice and spacious, also counter depth, LG, but it's not bad. I did buy the Best Buy protection plan, just because some reviews are mixed. Given my LG had the middle drawer, I like to use for beverages, I really wanted/needed the same style. With backorders, in a new build, I needed a fridge; this was the only option.

Love the fridge. It looks great in the kitchen. I thought I might regret the no handles but not an issue with the grooves on the top and bottom are easy to get used to. Its easy to change the layout inside depending on what you need, which has been great for one off akward items like a Christmas ham and extra bottles of wine. The water pitcher inside the door that automatically fills is not just a gimic. I have used 1/4 the amount of bottled water since we got this fridge. Freezer is big enough for us, nothing crazy. Overall awesome fridge!

I really like the size of this fridge. Wasn't sure I would like the funky little door but I use it all the time, it's become a habit. Like the separate meat/cheese drawer and space in freezer. The only weird thing is the spacing they try to use around the inside of door, along ice maker, but I do find things to fit the little angles. Overall, very happy with it.

Love my new Samsung. It not only looks great but it exceeds my expectations. It made ice within an hour or 2. Very quiet even when the ice drops. The Flex drawer is a wonderful feature!

    Ice Maker and Cooling Issues

We’ve had this refrigerator now for about 2 years. Since the beginning, we’ve had ice maker issues. Apparently, the ice maker for this model has known issues. We constantly experience ice buildup that eventually becomes an ice dam that will block all ice production. The ice maker has been replaced once and we’ve had a technician out on at least 5 other occasions to clear away ice build up and to apply the “latest manufacturer’s update” which never really addresses the problem - an apparent poor design. The frequency of the ice damming has gotten so bad that I bought myself the same steamer the technicians use and have just become accustom to melting away the ice buildup about every 2 weeks - basically trying to stay ahead of an actual ice dam. The other complaint about the ice maker is its low capacity. If your household uses a lot of ice, then you’ll be very disappointed. Unless we’re on vacation for a few days, we never see the ice tray full; it is usually almost empty or completely empty and someone has had to go without ice. The inside left door auto-fill water pitcher with infuser quickly became an unused feature. At first, it seemed like a great idea and we used it for lemon-infused water. However, after a few weeks we stopped using it and would forget about the lemons in the infuser and when we finally would remember, it would be kind of gross to clean. Given that we had a water-fill feature on the outside of the door, we didn’t really need to have a pitcher holding water on the inside. I suppose it is nice that it holds cold water for you but for us it was really just a waste of space. I would prefer to reclaim that space. After about a year of having this refrigerator, we started to notice the xZone (i.e., middle drawer) and freezer not cooling the way it should. Ice cream in the freezer would be soft and the xZone was noticably not cold at all. And even before we made the connection that something wasn’t right, we had already set the settings to their coldest setting. We had to throw away a lot of food and yes, we did fill out a spoiled food claim. So, I bought a couple of refrigerator thermometers and they confirmed the temps were really off. The xZone was reading in the low 50s and the freezer in the high 20s when they should have been 29 for the xZone and -8 for the freezer. I setup an appointment where a technician came out an assessed the issue and confirmed that they were off and diagnosed the issue as the dampers for both the xZone and freezer needing to be replaced as they were not opening to allow cooler air to come in. So a new appointment was made for a week later, parts were delivered, and the dampers were replaced. That fixed the issue - but only temporarily. About 2 months go by and the same thing - xZone temp back up to low 50s and the freezer at 28/29 degrees. I schedule a service call, takes a week, and the technician now says it is the control board. That is now on order and will be 2 weeks before it can be installed. I don’t have the confidence that it will fix the problem for the long term. Meanwhile, I’ll have to submit a new spoiled food claim. Ugh!!! Thankfully, we have a 5-year service plan so all the service visits are covered. However, it is a big inconvenience to a) manage the ice maker the way I have to and b) have cooling issues in the xZone and freezer that put the food at risk.

Replacing our old fridge with this new Samsung unit is one of the best improvements we've made to our home. It is counter depth, so the few more inches it saved us really opened up the pass between it and the cabinets. The modern doors and stainless finish fit right in. I was worried it would be a distracting contrast with our existing white appliances, but no, it looks great. It will take a little time to get used to "no handles" as they are not recessed into the top and bottom of the doors. We love the pitcher of water always ready. We had no problems with installation and it has been up and running a few days without issue.

We like the fridge but nobody knows how to open it without visible handles. We get a lot of fingerprints on it because it takes getting used to grabbing the bottom of the doors for the top fridge and grabbing the top of the two lower drawers. I like the layout but you have to tell guests you to open it

We bought this because fridge is next to wall on right side. No handles and counter depth means we can open the right door enough. Space is a bit limited due to counter depth. Placement of water filter uses valuable space between drawers. Haven't tried the auto fill pitcher yet. Storage space in left door not too usable for anything except really small items.

In the description it says fingerprint resistant. I took that as you won't see when someone touches it. That is not the case. the refrigerator shows everything. This was the reason I bought it without handles. Buyer beware !!! Only other issue the ice tray doesn't hold very much ice.

I was initially concerned about getting the counter depth, but it has worked out beautifully. It fits nicely and so far I am able to get everything I need into it. I love the organization of the doors, and the included auto fill water pitcher is brilliant. I particularly love the flex drawer. I'm able to organize my meats and cheeses, everything within easy reach. I gather my lunch items for the next day and place them in the flex drawer to be able to grab them and go in the morning. The only small issue is the vegetable bins are a little small. I usually keep my potatoes and sweet potatoes as well as the other fruits and vegies in these drawers, but I've had to put the potatoes on an upper shelf. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase.

Getting used to the new fridge

I am getting used to my new refrigerator, but being handle-less it took about a week to quit reaching for the handle. My old refrigerator was a "counter depth" as is the new one. In the old one (a side-by-side model) I would lose items in the back of the shelf, but this one has a more visual and open layout and I am having a little trouble fitting everything in. It really seems smaller than my old counter-depth fridge. The ice maker was a little temperamental at first. It took it about a week to start producing enough ice cubes for the 3 adults in our household. It's working fine now. Overall, I am pleased with my new fridge. It is very quiet and I am anxious to see a comparison on the prior electic bill versus the new electric bill. It does not totally eliminate fingerprints on the doors, but they are a lot easier to clean off than the old fridge was.
