    Exceptional

It was the reviews that got me looking at this monitor and kept me prepared for what might be out there, so when I purchaced this monitor I wasn't surprised to find a red pixel showing up on the screen. I had heard this was an issue and took it casually as I exchanged it with no problem. When viewing the new monitor I found it had an almost unnoticeable thin line up and down the screen. The price was so good for the monitor (being on clearance) that I went back for one more shot at it. Finally the monitor I recieved was perfect. It has a clear picture, great color, and was a super upgrade from my last monitor which cost twice as much (when monitors hadn't gone down). The only negatives (which are minor) are some ghosting on the edges when showing a black screen and the image is hard to see from sharp angles.

    Could be better

I'm not as thrilled with this monitor as I thought I would be. Shortly after spending time with it, I noticed one red pixel in the lower right corner region of the screen. It seems to only show up on a black background. Secondly, the image quality is not spectacular, seems like no matter the res, the overall image quality is regular, not poor, but not awesome. And lastly, there is no tilt available. Pardon me, but I believe that tilt on a monitor should be standard like seat belts on a vehicle. On the lucky side, I did buy this model on sale for $300 +tx, which is now $150 more, whoa, at that price in my opinion definitely not worth it. On the good side though, my main concern was getting a bigger monitor with bigger space for graphics design without spending a lot of money. So, in all, the one red pixel doesn't bother me, that, and I'm not traveling the 40 miles to return it and get another one and the big screen has certainly made my time on the computer easier. At $300 (sale) I would say this is monitor is well priced for the size if all your interested in is more space, but at it's current price of $450, there are other monitors, better and less expensive that easily rival this one.

    Very solid performer

I gave this monitor a go based on my previous experience with Samsung monitors (and the $120 sale discount). This 24" performs beautifully. It was a little bright out of the box, but was very simple to adjust. In two minutes I had things to my liking. Movement is fluid in gaming with no ghosting or pixelation that I have been able to see to this point. Excellent response to my nVidia GTX 280 video card. I have not yet viewed a blu-ray, so I can not comment on how this monitor will do with video. Internet viewing is excellent in the native resolution. If you are going to go down too much, by less of a monitor with a lower native resolution. This one blurs a bit, but that is to be expected. The monitor DOES have a swivel base and tilt. It DOES NOT have a height adjustment as indicated in the stores notes. The tilt, however, is sufficient to provide an adequate and comfortable veiwing angle. The only con (if you want to call it that) is the touch sensitive programming keys. They are not lit up until use. Although they are not a distraction in low lighting because of this, it does make it very easy to call up menus inadvertantly. One final note... this monitor acheives excellent color saturation without the addition of a glossy screen cover. This means that you do not have to worry about glare or reflection from lighting around/behind you to the same extent that you do with many of the other monitors out there right now that use it.

Color Image inaccurate and hard to adjust

I puchased this monitor to go with a simple Acer 24" monitor I have (two monitor system). The out of the box color image is very very bright and pretty washed out. I've tried to adjust the brightness and contrast to get clean whites and good colors. It just doesn't seem possible. I have some work experience here, but can't seem to get this one close. Either the whites are dull or the detail gets washed out when increasing the contrast to get nice whites. I'm also noticing the monitor is brighter at the top than at the bottom. I also had to adjust the image placement. It was too far to the left and down. The controls for the monitor are a little obscure. So I'm not too thrilled with this monitor. I paid less a year ago for my Acer 24" monitor at Best Buy and am much happier with it. I didn't have to adjust anything!

Very good price for a large LCD Monitor

This is a great price for a very good monitor. The screen and really bright and it has great contrast. It has the VESA mounting in the back so you dont need to worry whether or not the stand can be pushed up. Just hang it on your wall and free up some desk space...I am actually contemplating purchasing another one because it would be great to have the double screen set-up with two 24" monitors. You could use one to watch a movie or TV while you do work on the other or just have the extra space for work. Got out and buy one...

    good pic but Inadequate features

First one I dropped 2 feet on a cushioned table - picture stopped working. 2nd one woks well as claimed. Biggest problem is that it is feature poor compared to its competition. Since its a 24 incher or full 1040 HD, naturally the thought comes of using it as a monitor or for AV purposes Well, you cant. It has no speakers, no HDMI port, no USB ports and AV controls. When I used a HDMI to DVI adapter, I got only VGA like output from my HDMI devices. Beware.

I bought this monitor because I have 2 other Samsung monitors that have lasted for years (and are still lasting) with nary a problem. My main use is for gaming and internet which it performs wonderfully at both. As a rebuttal to Will1983: A non-adjustable stand is surely no reason to give one star for a monitor. A bad picture or dead pixels definitely would reduce stars. Most monitors (especially at this price) don't adjust all that much. Messing up this great monitors rating on such a trite complaint is unfair to prospective buyers. If you bought it for it's height and pivot features then you should surely have researched further.

Excellent monitor if bells - whistles not needed

I found this monitor to be an excellent buy for what I got, especially since it had a significant markdown for the holidays. I already had an HDTV in my home office, so I didn't need the HDMI connection on my monitor, and I already had some very good speakers for sound so I didn't need those on the monitor either. I may miss having a USB port on the monitor, but the CPU is handy. The controls were a bit awkward in that the "button-less" touch points on the frame were difficult to see in low light, but this was not a major deal since they are not used that often. That being said, with the DVI hookup this monitor provided a very sharp picture with superb color right out of the box. Although the monitor doesn't swivel and there is no height adjustment, due to the design none were needed. The contrast, color, and sharpness are top notch. If you are looking for an excellent monitor and don't need some extra bells and whistles that will cost an extra $100-150, this is it!

Overall I like this monitor... I would be totally happy with it for what I use it for (mainly just basic computer work and some games), excppt as stated above I have a red pixel that showed up after 3 days. This was a problem on another review so thought I should bring it up. Will be returning it for a new one.

Very disappointed when I open the box, it only has a simple stand. The reason I bought it is its height, swivel, pivot features which this model should have.
