Customers admire the 28” ViewFinity UHD IPS AMD FreeSync with HDR Monitor's picture quality, color vibrancy, and value for its price, frequently praising the HDR capabilities and ease of use. However, some users express concerns regarding the refresh rate and the monitor stand's sturdiness. Additionally, the lack of built-in speakers and the placement of the VESA mount have drawn criticism, as has the input switching mechanism.

An utterly unacceptable amount of backlight bleed. I can ignore some but this is atrocious. I thought I was crazy when my games started looking hazy on the sides but then I put it up against a black background and saw what the issue was. This is a poorly made IPS panel.

This tv said it supports “4K”. Just brought it home to hook up to my Xbox one X and the monitor tells me 4K doesn’t support this device. Clearly this is a monitor and not “TV”. What a waste of money now I have to go return it. Anyone else have this issue?

Bought two of them to replace my 38" ultrawide. The panel is fine but Samsung's OSD is absolute garbage. Don't give companies money until they can figure out simple things like an input menu that won't break every 5 minutes.

Just like the title says. It’s good for the price point. It’s really something like a $250 panel in a $10 chassis and stand… and the rest is probably profit. It’s 4K, so I can zoom out to fit lots and lots of Excel spreadsheet cells onscreen and still read the text. This is my main use for this monitor. The colors are good. The IPS panel is okay. Thankfully, I don’t use this monitor in the dark, because the IPS glow in the corners is apparent. As for build quality? Well, it’s cheap, plain and simple. I hate the stand. If you have less than a 30” deep desk, it’s horrible. With the back of the base on the edge of a desk, the legs come in by 10 inches and span over 18 inches. I type with my keyboard over the top of the legs. Do you like adjustability? Too bad. You only get tilted all the way up, or all the way down. The stand won’t hold the panel still in any other position, and there’s no rotation or height adjustment. Dell’s monitor stands have heft to them, are much more compact, hold the panel further back, and are much more functional with tilt, height, and two-axis rotation adjustments. This Samsung stand misses the mark by a long shot. Now I need to buy a monitor arm if I want my nose to be more than 18” away from the panel. Overall, this is okay for work (with a monitor arm). For personal use at home, I greatly prefer the Dell S2721DGF, even though it’s lower QHD resolution. Still, the Samsung UR55 is a huge upgrade from the 12+ year old 900p monitor I found at work. I would recommend this monitor for utilitarian use, but not as much for enjoyment.

After much time browsing online for a new monitor, my search suddenly showed this model available at my local store. With no prior reviews, and no unit on display at the store, I made the risky decision to purchase it anyway. Boy, was I glad i did. This monitor is superb. Color levels are very accurate, picture is clear and sharp, and brightness is more than adequate. I run it around 65% brightness, which is just right. I was considering the LG 27UL600, which has excellent reviews, but it didn't support HDR 10 like this one does. Like I said, it was risky choosing this monitor because there's really no reviews anywhere on the internet for it. Great purchase though, I would definitely but it again.

I had the monitor for a month now and it's truly awesome how great the picture is and how the colors pop. 4k UHD, VRR with Free Sync, HDR, and 60Hz is prefect for the Xbox One X and even for the future Xbox Series X because honestly you don't need HDMI 2.1 because the vast majority of games are going to be limited to 4k 60Hz for most Triple A and first party games. There are going to be some games that can output 4k 120Hz but they are not going to be that graphically demanding so it can reach those frames per second more like possibly Racing games and Platformers I believe, so in the end running it at 4k 60Hz would probably output a cleaner and better picture because they can fit more pixels in per bit without sacrificing for better frames. HDMI 2.1 is still fairly new technology so perhaps maybe the Xbox Series X2 or upgraded model that comes out will have a better GPU and CPU for true 4k 120Hz gaming possibly something like the new Nivida GTX 3080 or 3090 cards in terms of technology but those cards cost alone over $700. Hopefully that answered any questions you might have, let me know if anything :)

    4K and 60Hz for a Great Price

Was looking for a couple of new monitors for my computer and specifically my Xbox One X that would work well with the Series X out later this year and for the price, buying 2 of these fit the bill perfectly. Yes, the new systems can run 4K/120, but they are not going to run both 4K and 120 for any graphically intensive AAA games so 4K 60Hz will be enough. The overall design is very sturdy and the modern look is great on my desk. The bezels are fairly minimal so that is another nice plus. When it comes to the actual picture it is truly what I was expecting from 4K and though many will argue that the HDR is useless at this brightness level it may be, but the jump from 1080 to 4K is immense. Others will also argue that 60Hz is not enough, but unless you`re a professional player where your income is based on your play why you would subject yourself to 1440 or even 1080 versus 4K is beyond me and in my opinion, you are not using the full potential of your gaming system. The only downside that others have also mentioned is the automatic switching of inputs between console and PC when I turn my Xbox off/on, but in reality, this is just nitpicking as it takes 2 seconds to change the input manually. Overall, I can`t recommend this monitor enough as I had narrowed my decision down to this and the LG 27UL600 and after receiving this monitor and using it extensively I don`t have any regrets.

The display itself is great -- good bright image. Some minor downsides but reasonable given the low price: First, the stand is fixed height and very wide so it takes a lot of desk space, and the VESA mount points are near the bottom of the monitor so if you do put it on a separate stand/arm it'll be at an atypical spot. Second, its input switching is very slow as is the responsiveness when turning on the built-in menu.

Great 4K monitor for those that want an upgrade in screen space from 1080 monitors. I bought two of these monitors, since I've been using a dual display setup for nearly a decade now. These monitors have great color contrast, and display HDR content very well. The bezels match my TV very well, since my PC is near my Samsung TV. The brightness is the only downside for me. Since I just upgraded my whole PC experience that was aging at 9 years old, I expected the additional 150 nits of brightness to be much more brighter than expected. That would be the one of two flaws that I must address since I'm giving these monitors one half star off from being the best. The other flaw for me is the very stiff adjustment to the tilt of the monitor up or down. I was worried that I might break the stands with these monitors since the tilt was so stiff, it made me think that they were not able to tilt up or down. If you're curious about side tilting, then I'll go ahead and mention that you can't side tilt these monitors without lifting them up with the stand and moving them to your desired location. If it wasn't for the two flaws that I mentioned, then 5 stars would have been given. Although, there is no 5 star option, the 4.5 star in my title, should be sufficient for most. The picture quality is great! And if you're not needed more than 60Hz refresh rate, then this will be a great monitor for you. Each monitor comes with a power cable, small manual, HDMI cable, & stand.

I recently upgraded to the Samsung 28" ViewFinity UHD IPS monitor, and it's been a revelation. From the moment I turned it on, I was blown away by the crystal-clear visuals and stunning colors. A Feast for the Eyes The 4K UHD resolution is a game-changer. Text is razor-sharp, and even the most intricate details in photos and videos come alive. Whether you're a designer working on intricate graphics or a movie buff looking for an immersive cinematic experience, this monitor delivers. The HDR support adds another layer of wow factor, with deeper blacks, brighter whites, and a wider color gamut that brings content to life. Smooth Operator For gamers, the AMD FreeSync technology is a dream. It virtually eliminates screen tearing and stuttering, ensuring seamless visuals even in fast-paced games. Plus, the 4ms response time keeps up with the action, so you won't be caught off guard by blurry in-game movement. Designed for Comfort Samsung hasn't forgotten about comfort. The IPS panel offers wide viewing angles, so you'll get a great picture no matter where you're sitting. And the included eye care features help to reduce eye fatigue during long work sessions. Overall Verdict The Samsung 28" ViewFinity UHD IPS monitor is a superb choice for anyone looking for a top-notch display. The combination of stunning visuals, smooth performance, and thoughtful design features make it a winner. Whether you're a creative professional, a hardcore gamer, or just someone who appreciates a beautiful picture, this monitor is sure to impress. Highly Recommend! P.S. I gotta say first and foremost, I had some slight issues and debating if I wanted to return this panel or not.. I had a slight IPS faint hallowing bleed going on with my unit.. but in the end it wasn't as bad as I was making it out to be, and decided against the return. I was able to get 10 bit+HDR+4k to work on display port.. HDMI is limited via bandwidth to 4k+HDR+8bit. Overall I love the panel, beautiful accurate coolers and everything just POPS! I would definitely buy again.. I will be pairing this with PS5 in the fall, so all should be well in the neighborhood. The VESA setup on this panel is also pretty odd, I luckily has a second mount on hand to fully take advantage, but make sure your 75x75 mount is rounded off on the edges.. because anything else is near impossible to get a decent fit.. Seems like a Samsung oversight for sure... I would take the chance for any potential buyers. Can't complain for this price point really.

I really wasn't expecting my upgrade to this monitor from a 27" FHD monitor to be so drastic. The increased pixel density makes reading text so much more easy on the eyes. The colors are also way more vivid than on my old monitor. My only gripe is that the USB-C to HDMI adapter I use for my M1 MacBook Air does not support 4k @ 60Hz - it only supports 4k @ 30Hz. I had to buy a new USB-C to DisplayPort adapter, which I'm still waiting on to arrive to see if I can get the higher refresh rate working. 30Hz is enough of an eyesore that I had to stop using the monitor with my MacBook for the time being. 4k @ 60Hz works just fine on Windows with a standard HDMI cable.

The info at the time I purchased said it didn’t have a headphone out/computer speaker port. It does. It supports standard 3.5mm cable and the speakers I paired with the monitor work flawlessly. The monitor has built in volume control as well. I had to purchase a Display Port to USB C cable to get this monitor to be crisp at the right scaling and resolution. The included HDMI cable is just to get you connected but doesn’t support the maximum specs. It also limited my graphics card resolution options and made my icons look stretched and fat. New Display Port cable did the trick and really sharpened the picture. Now here’s where I’m totally peeved… there is ONE multidirectional knob hidden on the underside of the monitor and you HAVE to use it to switch inputs by pressing it, then going left, then selecting input every time. Then all it does is cycle until you find the next/right one. You can’t even click it twice or three times to keep cycling inputs. This makes it cumbersome and totally mind-numbing for someone constantly switching between 2 inputs/2 devices. I have read other reviews mentioning this and wish I would have considered the validity of their cries vs thinking they were tech illiterate. It cost this monitor a star for me but otherwise the display and picture itself rocks. Not only is the functionality of the knob all around inconvenient but it sometimes turns the monitor off instead of pulling up the menu, or if you accidentally don’t press the knob dead center and go a different direction you bump a different sub menu and have to wait for it to go away off screen to pull the correct one… there’s no quick exit or anything. Terrible, terrible but WONDERFUL for a 1 PC user! It also has only once so far auto-detected and switched inputs on its own. I cannot get it to do that consistently and most monitors these days should be smart enough to consistently detect a sudden feed of input and switch to that port, especially if you’re going to design such a janky knob design for menu and input selections. 3 stars only because it has a beautiful display.

I waa in need of upgrading my old monitors due to dead pixels. I saw this and thought it was a reasonable price. I bought two for work purposes (remote worker). I really like the ability to have multiple windows opened and sized automatically with Samsung's EasyBox software. The graphics are amazing. My only complaint is when switching between my work laptop and my home PC. My old monitors were able to automatically detect and switch. With this, I have to essentially turn it off and turn it back on to the right input. Aside from that, I really do like this monitor and highly recommend it.

I am absolutely thrilled with the purchase of the Samsung - 28” ViewFinity UHD IPS AMD FreeSync with HDR Monitor. I initially purchased one unit back in May 2022 and was so blown away by the quality that I decided to purchase a second. From the moment I plugged in these monitors, I was met with stunning, sharp 4K visuals that were incredibly detailed and vibrant. Colors are bright and accurately represented with the HDR feature, offering a wide color gamut that greatly improves my viewing experience. The UHD resolution is simply brilliant, making everything from photo editing to movie watching to gaming an absolute pleasure. Text is crisp and clear, making it ideal for productivity work too. With 4K resolution, you can really see the difference in the fine details, which is a huge benefit for creative professionals and enthusiasts alike. The AMD FreeSync technology included in these monitors is a game-changer for gaming. This feature ensures smooth visuals by preventing screen tearing and stuttering. This means games feel more immersive, and fast-paced scenes are rendered seamlessly, significantly improving my overall gaming experience. Design-wise, the monitors are sleek and unobtrusive. The black finish gives it a professional and contemporary feel that complements any workspace setup. The bezels are incredibly thin, maximizing screen real estate and making the dual monitor setup feel like one large, uninterrupted display. The stand that comes with the monitors is sturdy and offers a good range of adjustability for different viewing angles. Plus, installation was a breeze, requiring minimal time and effort to get both monitors up and running. Lastly, these monitors seem to have solid build quality, as one would expect from a reputable brand like Samsung. After a year of use, they're still performing flawlessly, with no signs of wear or any technical issues. In conclusion, the Samsung - 28” ViewFinity UHD IPS AMD FreeSync with HDR Monitor is an excellent purchase for those seeking top-tier visual performance, whether for gaming, media consumption, or professional use. The dual setup has worked brilliantly for me, and I highly recommend this monitor to anyone considering a high-quality 4K display.

Even though it’s IPS, the color quality is honestly fantastic and the black levels are more than serviceable. It’s only 60hz, but it works just fine for non-competitive games or even titles like Street Fighter 6, due to the VRR/FreeSync support (it’s also G-Sync compatible even though it’s not verified by Nvidia). The only quirk I’ve noticed is that switching inputs seems to rely on just auto detection which can be a bit finicky, but that could be just me. Otherwise it’s a solid pick while on sale. Got it while it was $200.

I bought this monitor as my first 4k monitor. I bought it for the price and the HDR. The monitor has Samsung gaming mode which is pretty much just a color profile that seems to try and mimic HDR in non HDR compatible games or movies. I mostly use the monitor for gaming and despite the 60hz, 4k games look amazing. The color profile does a very good job mimicking an HDR-like appearance. I don't have a video card capable of outputting most games above 60 fps in 4k at max fidelity... So the 60hz doesn't bother me. This monitor is great and the colors are nice and vibrant. I just wish the blacks were darker and the contrast was improved. HDR gaming is also very good for the price. Im very impressed with this monitor, considering the price.
