Do not purchase this refrigerator. Although it looks great and appears very functional, Google all of the problems that people are having with the ice maker (DA97-15217A), as are we. It's a nightmare. People have spent 3 years taking apart and trouble shooting a frozen and inoperable ice maker, using infrared, endoscopes, etc. only to discover THERE IS NO FIX. Samsung has a significant and unresolved design flaw. We are very disheartened and looking to sell ours as we are just now experiencing this problem at 1.5 years ownership. Moreover, Samsung's tech support is horrible. Absolutely HORRIBLE. It WILL be the worst support experience you've ever had if you purchase this refrigerator. Even with the extended warranty. And you will have this problem. Do your research. If that doesn't scare the heck out of you from purchasing this fridge or dealing with Samsung, be prepared to buy ice by the bag. Because that's exactly where you'll be. A $3,100 refrigerator with no ice making capabilities. Best of luck.

This is the second Samsung i have bought and now being returned under geek squad lemon warranty. Unit developed loud hum after 2 months and was repaired 3 times to no avail. Also had a snapping sound every time the freezer door was opened, sounded like taking a ruler and hitting it on a flat surface like a table. I.m going to buy an LG now. Warning Best Buy will not refund me the $600 warranty I paid even though the unit is only 4 months old. After exchange this will be the last appliance I buy at Best Buy.

This is an excellent looking model with one huge flaw ! The two top French doors do not open wide enough to allow full access to the fruit and vegetable drawers ,there for you cannot put longer larger items in the drawers! This really a silly error on the part of the designers! What to do now return the refrigerator?? Woe is me

We have had two of these delivered to our house. All doors and drawers had to be removed to fit it through the door. Because of this, the doors and drawers weren't really re-installed correctly and there were many problems--including the top doors not aligning correctly and the freezer door not sliding and aligning correctly. The left door hinge was not re-installed correctly either time, breaking the hinge mechanism. On both refrigerators, the left door stop would not work properly because of this installation. We had two separate repair calls on the first fridge and ultimately insisted on a new one. Then the same things happened with the second fridge. The repair guy just left. He said we will have to order some of the same parts that were ordered for the first one. The ice maker is in the top part (refrigerator) and does not have anything blocking warmer air from entering the ice maker every time the doors are opened. Therefore, the ice is frosty and wet instead of crisp and clear. Very unappetizing. We will be returning this refrigerator too and will not be buying another Samsung until these design flaws are addressed. We love everything else about this refrigerator. If you have a wider entrance to your house #so the doors and drawers do not have to be removed) and don't mind frosty ice, it would be a great refrigerator for you.

had to send back first unit...doors would not line up at all....they tried to tell me it was my floor was out of level....pulled it out and measured the floor which was level to 1/8 of an inch....seems the overall structure is not very solid on the one I got or maybe just doors were out of whack...best buy gave me another one...this one, the doors were fine...about a month later, one of the handles came off...geeshh....I was able to reattch myself.....about 3 months later...another handle (different handle) came off...again, I was able to reattach...but wow...an appliance that's only 4 months old and I have had that many issues already....never had that problem with my American branded refrigerators....(who knows if they were actually made in America)...I will stay away from Samsung appliances from now on....guess they just don't know how to make them...I sure hope they did a better job on the actual refrigeration hardware and they just messed up on the frame and the doors and the handles...fingers crossed

Picked this model because of the sparkling water feature. Was very happy at first. !st issue, the bottom shelf cracked at the corner. Was able to live with it cracked. 2nd issue a door mounted shelf cracked. glued it together, held for a little while. 3rd issue, ice maker always dispenses crushed ice even when cubed ice is selected. 4th issue, ice maker freezes over and doesn't produce ice until the ice covering the ice maker is completely removed. Not easily done, unit cracks trying to remove it to clear off the ice. Last and final issue, evaporator fan not working, refrigerator compartment not getting cold. Told this is a common problem however the prongs in the receptacle used for the fan have rusted completely away, not repairable. This refrigerator is only 3 years old. Never buying another Samsung appliance!

I have had this fridge for 3 years now, and had problems with ice maker after the first 6 months. Stupid me, I didn't call Samsung about it until after the warranty had expired. Finally stopped working completely, no more thawing and clearing the ice blockages...now we just buy ice in a bag from the gas station. Not worth $2,500+

DON'T BUY SAMSUNG!! Worst refrig. I've ever owned. Ice maker is not working. When I reached out to friends on Facebook for a recommendation for a repair person numerous people responded that they have problems with their ice makers as well. A few said they have had the ice maker replaced more than once. Buyer beware. Note - this is not a problem that I had with Best Buy. Their customer service has always been very good.

I'm surprised they're still selling this. This refrigerator has caused us nothing but problems. The water and ice dispensers frequently failed. If getting crust ice, the ace debris drips out for several hours down the front of the refrigerator.

Within first week needed service repair due to water leak. Water dispenser freezes up at least once a month.

waited over two months for this replacement fridge and was absolutely shocked once it was finally delivered that it did not have the dual icemakers as stated in the product description....the dual icemakers was the deciding factor for us in selecting this model as our replacement....unbelievable !!!
