Great Fridge!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did extensive research before I finally purchased this fridge so I can honestly say this was the absolute best design and quality I could find for our circumstances. First, let me talk about quality. Samsung and LG are the best quality and reliability. The more expensive European brands are actually much less reliable. I have previously purchased a Samsung washer, dryer and TV and have been very satisfied with the reliability. This fridge is large. So large that you must measure to make sure you have the room for it. Fortunately, I live in a brand new home that has plenty of room for a fridge, so it fit perfect. It does stick out from the adjacent countertop, but that is not a big deal for us as we have the room. This fridge has tons of room. The shelves are large and thoughtfully laid out. The ability to flip up certain shelves to create room for taller items is essential since the height of the shelves in the main area of the fridge does not fit a 2 liter soda bottle. The in door shelves do allow a soda bottle and milk jug to fit, but the inside shelves do not. Sure you could adjust the shelf height, but that would render the other shelf height so short that it is useless. This issue is the same issue with any fridge however, you just need to be aware of it. The shelves on the left door are very limited in size and shape due to the ice maker. No manufacturer seems to have figured out how to solve the ice maker taking up so much room issue as it is roughly the same with all models and manufacturers. The inside of the fridge and freezer are very well lit with the LED lights. The crisper drawers are large and have adjustable humidity for fruits, vegetables, meats and cheeses. I have read some complaints that the drawers do not pull all the way out, so you can't directly see or access the back of the drawer. While accurate, this just isn't a significant issue for us. The ice maker creates plenty of ice. The crushed ice setting creates ice that is very crushed - not huge chunks. The ice does take a few seconds to get to your glass as there is quite a distance for it to travel from the bin down through the chute into your glass. This delay applies to when you stop requesting ice - ice still comes out for a second or two. Truly this is not big deal and you quickly become accustomed to the delay. The flexible use middle drawer is our favorite part of the fridge. It is at the perfect height, easy to use, well lit which we use for sodas. It keeps the sodas at 33 degrees which is perfect for drinks. One minor criticism is that you cannot pull this drawer all the way out to see and access items in the back of it. As we use it for soda, this is not much of an issue. i could see if you use it for other, smaller items - this would be a draw back. The freezer is well lit and spacious. It has one drawer which we use for our most frequently used items. The only downside of the freezer is that other than the shelf, the freezer is a large bin - which means you have to 'dig' through items to get to the bottom items. I'm not sure of a better way to design the freezer though - we looked at the new 32 cubic foot Samsung model with french doors for the freezer and it has its' drawbacks too. You have to stoop down to see what's in the freezer and the freezer is divided vertically, which greatly reduces the space efficiency and size of items you can store. The compressor is a bit loud. Not too loud for us, but I could see how others may be bothered by it if there bedroom was close. I don't have any other models to compare the compressor noise to - so I don't know if it is louder than other makes and models or not. The outside finish of brushed aluminum is gorgeous. I have heard horror stories about keeping the finished clean and free of fingerprints and smudges. I have not experienced any issues with that It is easy to clean and does not require frequent cleaning. I will say though that our children are grown and out f the house, so maybe that would change my opinion if we had children. The side dispenser is great also. I didn't think I would use it much, and it was a non factor when deciding which model fridge to buy. It works well, dispenses exactly what it says it does - soda water. We have not yet tried to add flavoring yet as i didm;t think i would ever use this feature. But based on how well it works, I have ordered flavoring and look forward to trying it out. The display on the left side above the ice dispenser is well done. The controls are not complicated and are well laid out and logical. Even though I am a gadget freak, I did not want the display that was an LCD screen with apps. I just can't think of any reason why you would want that or why an LCD screen with apps would be useful in any way. I realize eventually they will have RFID tags for your grocery items and the 'smart fridge' of the future will be able to create a grocery list for you - but that info will be sent to your smart phone or computer. The only thing I do not like about the display is the amount of time before the display goes dark is too short. I'm sure this is for the energy saving certification, but I wish there was a setting to change it. The Best Buy purchasing experience was great. The sales person I bought it from was knowledgable and helpful. The delivery was on time, courteous and painless. 5 Stars to Best Buy - no complaints whatsoever. Overall, this is a great fridge in almost every way. I am very detail oriented and examine things in minute detail and do plenty of research and comparison. This is without a doubt a great fridge that is very well thought out, reliable, functional and attractive. As with all alliances it is not perfect and there is some room for improvement - but please keep in mind all the issues I raise here are truly minor ones. Wait for this fridge to go on sale or buy an open box item like I did and you will be very satisfied and will not regret your purchase.

3rd visit is hopefully last
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great fridge, looks modern with silver faceplate and stainless handles unlike others with black faceplate. Sodastream is kind of gimmicky to us, it dispenses carbonated water only , not like Sodastream soda/mix stand-alone units. We bought some syrup and if you get the mix right, it works great. Takes up to 5 minutes per glass to fill with carbonated water, so choose wisely. 1st fridge started making a big fan noise about 3 hours after it was delivered, took 5 hours for fridge to initially drop from 80 to 37. Noise was so unbearable (can't here TV in 4200 sq ft house) we called BB and they scheduled a replacement to come out 2 days from then. Got a call at 730a from 3rd party, said replacement had multiple dings/dents would u like a discount or another fridge? Another fridge please. 3 days later I have yet to hear from BB. I really like the fridge, and I get that things go bad, but it's how you handle it that matter

Great concept, poor execution
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted this refrigerator so bad. In fact, I wanted it so bad that I bought it twice. I bought it while remodeling a house I had just purchased and stored it in the garage, brand new in the box. Someone stole it right out of my garage. So I bought it again. I think I paid almost $6K to have this fridge between the two purchases. We drink a lot of sparkling water and I really loved the concept of being able to produce it directly from the fridge. I have no complaint about the Soda Stream components or capabilities. It's the doors and their opening mechanisms that have me so upset. Within a few months, the handles for both drawers fell off. I called Samsung and they sent someone out because it was still under manufacturers warranty. The repair man said that he actually sees this quite a bit on this model, that there seems to be some faulty parts. Showed me how to reinstall and tighten everything back up. So once a month or so, the door handles come right off and I have to reinstall. Not a HUGE deal but a little ridiculous for a $3K refrigerator. Tonight it came back off and this time won't screw back on. The nut within the drawer door is either stripped or became loose and fell within the door because this thing is not screwing back in. And of course I'm now officially out of manufacturers warranty. The door components are SUPER CHEAP, especially for the cost of of the machine. Would definitely not buy a third time and would not recommend anyone else spend this kind of money on something with such cheap equipment. Stay away!

Great fridge!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great fridge! At first I wasn't sure if I was going to use the Sodastream, but I use it pretty often. The fridge is very spacious and I love how you can reorganize/move the shelves. The middle drawer is very useful too and you can change the temperature setting for that drawer as well. The lights are bright and nicely illuminate the inside of the fridge. The downside is that the door don't open all the way. So if you have something buried in the back of the crisper drawers, it's hard to get out. But other than that, love my new fridge!

Compressor bad in first 60 days
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best Buy was great to buy appliances from, however, Samsung has not been good to work with. This refrigerator is noisy and now needs a compressor replacement in the first 90 days. Samsung repair services and executive customer service has been horrible. I bought 4 matching appliances. 3 of 4 have broken in the first 90 days. The range has been deemed un-repairable and the microwave touchpad has broken. Stay away from Samsung appliances.

First of it's kind, and it works great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The main draw of this refrigerator is it's brand new Sodastream dispenser where along with a water filter, you place a canister that can produce up to 60 liters of fizzy drink. Because of the partnership with Sodastream, there are a lot of accessories and flavors to choose from. This is the first of its kind innovation and probably won't be seen outside of Samsung for a very long time unless companies develop their own technology. I replaced a side by side fridge with this one and was surprised to find less door space, only because I was so drawn in by the cool new dispenser. 30 Cu ft. is quite large though so if you don't need this much space then just go for the separate Sodastream counter top dispenser if you really want the bubbles.

Do not buy a Samsung refrigerator.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy this refrigerator or any other Samsung refrigerator. It's only trick is to dispense soda water. Ice maker is terrible. We have replaced the ice maker 5 times in 6 years. Just waiting for it to completely die so we can replace with a different brand. Searched on Facebook about the ice maker and found a group with 65k members with the same issue. That should say something. Serious design flaw in the ice maker. If you really need soda water I would recommend getting a stand-alone SodaStream dispenser or another brand of soda water maker and keep that on the counter close by. Also have issues with cooling in the various compartments of the refrigerator. Do not waste your money on this refrigerator or anything this manufacturer makes. Do your homework. And find another brand.

Terrible! Complete Lemon!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned this refrigerator for about 2 years now. In that time, I have had The Geek Squad and now a third party repair service fix my 'fridge. The freezer drawer broke in the first 2 months and needed replaced. The ice maker froze completely and needed to be replaced THREE times before, what looks like, the issue is finally solved. On the third repair, the refrigerator stopped cooling and need the entire back panel replaced as it had frozen up. And now (actually on hold with the Geek Squad now) my refrigerator has stopped cooling again! Most of my food has now spoiled and I'm being told they are going to repair it again. Unbelievable!

Bad design, good on paper, bad on execution
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had my Samsung refrigerator for 3 years, bought it brand new. during the 3 years i had it serviced for about 5 times. The first issue was a simple replace of the touch screen which just died, after that it was a long battle with warranty, service centers and Samsung customer service to fix a leaky bottom compartment (condensation issue) and then a freezer that generates unwanted ice... The problem was that the servicemen -and they were many who came from different companies who work with Samsung- did not know how to fix it, so the issue was just patched up and the root cause was never found. That caused the problem to expand beyond the manufacturer's warranty period, meaning i ended up paying for an issue that should have been fixed during the warranty period. The service centers were rude and unresponsive. Overall, my experience with the Samsung fridge was frustrating at best, i am just so glad it did not leak and ruin my hardwood floor. I believe that Samsung need to refine their home appliance products before selling them to people, and they definitely have a long way to go in customer service and satisfaction. for now, i say they should stick to the smart phone business. I would really recommend to anyone who is thinking about a Samsung fridge to not get lured-in by the flashy touch screens and useless features.

Fridge = great, Sparkling water = terrible
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything about the fridge is great especially the extra drawer. HOWEVER the Sparkling Water feature is terrible. It is extremely complicated and for some reason I have to reset the CO2 cylinder after each use. Needless to say it does not get used in our house anymore.

Love it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this refrigerator for a few months now and love it. There are no con's, however i did buy the service place for 4 or 5 years i can not remember. However not sure if it tells you when the C02 is out. I also have an open concept house and it is loud and my door to my room is about 20 feet from it so at night i can hear it.

Big fridge Big performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ice make issues? None what so ever. 3 temp compartments insures my beer will be at 34 degrees. My frozen foods are at 4 degrees and my refridge is a cool 35 degrees. Sparkling water? Works great. All temps were at their set value in about 8 hours using the fast chill mode. So far this fridge has been flawless. And again my ice maker works just fine.

Awesome fridge with soda!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sodastream is great. One thing though, if you are expecting as much carbonation as your countertop sodastream, you want get it here. We have our fridge set on level three, and I like the amount of carbonation it uses, not to much and in my opinion not to little either. The fridge is huge also. Keeps with with our family of 8 on ice also.

Great Purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very happy with our purchase of the LG fridge. We love the option of two ice makers. The lower drawer works great when filling up for sports bottles for games and practices. Everything works great, enough space for our family of 5... Glad we purchased the LG.

***Warning*** Do not buy****
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m usually not one to wright a review, but I feel it’s my duty to warn other consumers about this product. I purchased this product from Best Buy 2 years ago and have had nothing but problems. The ice maker has been replaced 3 times; the middle drawer and a fan in the freezer have both been replaced once. I just called Geek Squad because the ice maker went out again (4th time). If you do make the mistake and buy this product make sure you purchase the extended warranty offered by Geek Squad. The repairs that have been made would have cost between $1,500 and $2,000.

The Water dispenser drips
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The water dispenser drips and there is no good way to clean up the drips! I have started leaving a cup in the door to catch the drips. My old fridge never dripped. Now I'm stuck with this fridge for the next 10 years!

DO NOT BUY!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this refrig 2 1/2 years ago. This past week, we had to have the main circuit board replaced to due inconsistent refrigerator temperatures and the icemaker as it was constantly dripping water thru the door dispenser, to the tune of about $400, as it was out of warranty. After the icemaker was installed, I had to have the repair man return as the icemaker continue to drip. The repair tech could not determine the source of the problem so he called Samsung (while he was in my kitchen) to get their input. Samsung had no idea as to what was causing the problem, let alone how to fix it. They suggest that the repairman try a few "fixes", at a cost of about $1,000. to me, but Samsung couldn't assure these "fixes" would correct the problem. Their next suggestion, if the "fixes" didn't work, take some pictures and send them to Samsung. You would think that if Samsung had the ability to build the refrig, they would have the know how to fix it. Apparently not.
