The Samsung 32” Odyssey G5 (G50F) monitor is a fantastic gaming monitor that excels with its 180Hz refresh rate. I like the slim design and body of this monitor. The colors displayed are vivid and the images are always crisp. The dimensions for the screen of this 32” gaming monitor are 28” W x 24” H x 9”D with the stand. In the box you get the 32” monitor with stand, power cable, DP cable, and HDMI cable. Everything you need to plug and play, so you can be ready to game right out of the box. The lightning fast 1ms response time is impressive and keeps me in the action for all my fast-paced FPS, RPG, sports, driving, and online play games. The 180Hz refresh rate doesn’t disappoint as it keeps the screen lag free for all the various scenarios. The IPS panel gives a broad 178 degree viewing angle and the colors remain vivid and easy to see. QHD resolution gives me a bold 2560 x 1440p pixel density. NVIDIA G-Sync compatibility keeps the monitor from tearing images and eliminating screen lag. The HDR10 performs very well with bold contrast and accurate color representation. The gameplay looks amazing, but the cinematic scenes look even more stunning while gaming. This monitor also can pivot, swivel, tilt, and adjust up/down with height adjust. More features that help with gaming specifically are the ability to have an on-screen virtual aim point. It has helped me with precision and accuracy to hit my mark faster and increase my chances of staying alive in fast paced games. The black equalizer feature allows for a more pronounced image on the screen allowing me to see better during dark scenes in the game. In a way it helps me to see things that could be lurking or hiding in dark caves or alleyways. The Odyssey monitor also has Auto Source Switch+ which works very effectively so that I can game with one PC and do productivity work with my other laptop. The monitor will detect when a connect device is turned on and instantly switches to the new signal. Overall the Samsung Odyssey G5 is a great monitor that works well for gaming and productivity. Fast response time, nice design, and clean aesthetic look. The 32” screen size works well for all my various needs. Bold screen size with vivid colors that pop.

The Samsung - 32" Odyssey G5 (G50F) IPS monitor is a widescreen 2560x1440 QHD with HDR10 and G-Sync. It has up to 180 Hz refresh, and a 1 ms response time. It has one HDMI and DP input along with a 3.5mm headset output. Power and control are on the back of the monitor. Control is done through a standard mini joystick to move through the menus. It comes with a stand and can be mounted on a 100x100mm VESA mount. The monitor is thin and light, making it easy to mount or adjust as needed. The monitor is about 28”x15”. I used this as a monitor with a laptop and a desktop. Whether HDMI or DP, the monitor worked with no issues. The monitor responded to various refresh rates with no problems. It was smooth whether at a locked refresh rate or allowed to go to the maximum. The colors are spectacular. Colors pop and the blacks are black with no bleeding. I tried it with several types of games, and the colors were always great. I was using HDR the whole time with Nvidia GPU cards. The 1ms response time means you don’t have to worry about any latency. This is a great step up from a 1080p monitor without taking up the space of an ultra wide and the price for them. Stepping up to a larger monitor and more pixels with a fast refresh and response time will help with any gaming. This is a solid monitor with great features for getting the most out of your games.

I have been using this monitor for about 2 weeks and I just going to say it, a good entry level gaming monitor. If you’re looking for monitor that is a decent size, 32 inches, has good refresh rate (180 Hz), great display quality (QHD) and moderately priced then look no further. You will absolutely get what you pay for with the Samsung Odessey G5. So, let go over what the G5 has to offer. Dimensions and Setup: Height with stand: 24.6 inches Width: 9.9 inches Depth with stand: 9.9 inches Weight: 10.8 pounds Setting up this monitor is simply. Connect the stand to the base and tighten the screw, no tools required, connect the display and you are rolling. Display: The highlight of this monitor is its display, this is where Samsung shines. The G5 offers a 32 in QHD (1440p) or 2.5K display. the screen delivers sharp and detailed visuals that far surpass those of standard 1080p displays. This resolution is particularly well-suited to the monitor's size, ensuring that images and text appear crisp and clear, whether you're working or gaming. Color quality is another standout feature. The monitor produces bright, punchy, and incredibly clear colors that make every scene pop. The Samsung G5 brings out detail in both dark and bright scenes, allowing for a truly immersive viewing experience. When it comes to gaming, the combination of a 180Hz refresh rate and a lightning-fast 1ms response time means gameplay is smooth and responsive. Fast-paced games look crisp and run seamlessly, making every gaming session both fun and enjoyable. Design: Design-wise, it’s clean but very basic, very plasticky if want to put it that way. It doesn’t scream “gaming setup centerpiece,” more like “I’ll do my job and go home.” Also, not a very big fan of the button placement. The power/menu control button is located in the back, but the placement just seems off. Its feel like you have you have to put your whole hand back there to find it, just doesn’t feel natural. Input Ports: This is what irked me most on this monitor. The G5 offers only two inputs, 1 HDMI 2.0 and 1 DisplayPort 1.2. I was really bummed when I saw because my laptop does not offer an HDMI but rather a USB-C for display and which seems to be the trend now where manufactures are offering a USB-C input. It may not make a difference for someone but it did bother me a bit so I figured I put it out there. The good: • Big 32" screen makes games and content feel more immersive • Sharp QHD resolution • Smooth performance with 180Hz and adaptive sync • Clean, minimal design The not-so-great: • Limited Input ports • Doesn’t feel premium overall Overall, it’s a really solid pick if you want a bigger screen with smooth performance and great visuals without going crazy on price. Would defiantly recommend if your looking to upgrade from your current 1080p to something better.

The Odyssey G5 monitor is an excellent QHD monitor, as soon turn it on you instantly recognize the upscaled picture quality. The brightness of the screen is decent, even in a well-lit room (I have my setup directly next to a window). While its under 400 nits of brightness Samsung monitors do an excellent job with contrast which surprisingly makes up for the lack of 1000+ nit brightness numbers. The monitor itself is very lightweight, and it has a very understated look. It doesn’t scream “gaming monitor” at all and is very sleek and minimalistic. I was disappointed to find only one HDMI port and one DisplayPort. I would have preferred to see multiple connections, enabling better flexibility. The response rate (180hz) is probably the biggest change I noticed almost straight away. Scrolling through pages up/down or left/right gives a smooth flowing motion and becomes a real pleasure to work on. The built in menu is easy to use and has plenty of adjustments for color profiles. The power button is awkwardly placed and is not easy to feel for (it's located on the back, in an unconventional location). Thankfully, the power saving features means you don’t have to reach for it often. This monitor does not have a built-in power supply transformer, so a power cable and brick is supplied. All HDMI cables etc are also supplied. The picture is bright and vivid with deep blacks, and very bright whites. Reds and blues are very rich in color too. This monitor was used on an Apple Mac Mini M4 connected with a HDMI cable. The monitor has a matte finish, which helps with reflections but doesn’t totally negate them. Overall it’s a solid budget gaming monitor that has great color and contrast.

Very easy to assemble. It also comes with both HDMI and DP cables. Very nice. Only 1 Display Port and 1 HDMI port included. There is a great tilt range, forward – back and left-right. I liked the stand too as it has a small foodprint but is also sturdy. You can also adjust the height. There is also a cord clip in the back. The worst feature about this monitor is that the power button is on the back of the monitor. Poor design as you are fumbling to power on/off and use the onscreen menu. I did a lot of color tweaking and some other settings too, which required a lot of fumbling. The directions say that you can wall mount, not sure how you would reach the button very easily. That said, it is a great gaming monitor. The 180Hz refresh rate via the Display Port is excellent for fast paced gaming. So much better than my previous monitor. Color saturation and blacks were nice BUT you have to tweak the settings. I ended up tweaking them a little different based on the game. I may keep tweaking until I find the exact balance. Really don’t like that the power / setting button is on the back of the monitor. You will need a speaker with this monitor as it doesn’t include one. I always think they should come with speakers as some users won’t have their own setup. It did work great with my speaker setup. Colors were very bright and the blacks were deep. Again – tweak the settings. I do recommend this monitor, especially at this price point. They just need to move the power button and add a few more ports.

I have to admit, I'm a sucker for large monitors, to the point that my daily driver is a 4k 40" TV. I know that a TV is not the best gaming platform which is why I want a large high resolution high refresh rate gaming monitor, which is where this 32" Odyssey G5 comes in Packaging: To start it comes in a large brown Samsung box, no special frills here, packed well in styrofoam with 1 HDMI, 1 displayport cable, the power block and some minor documentation. Use: I was immediately struck by how thin this monitor is. I'm no strange to thin displays but for a 32" this seemed exceptionally thin, with just a bump out where the monitor stand connects. The power block cord is somewhat short, so keep that in mind when setting it up, though I do appreciate that it is a 2-prong connector instead of 3-prong. I live in an old house and sometimes 3-prong power is a little more difficult to find. The monitor does only have 1 HDMI and 1 DP input, where some these days have multiples. On connection it was easily recognized though I did see that at full resolution with HDMI connected to a current Alienware laptop Windows only recognized it at 144hz. So it's worth noting that 180hz is not achievable at full resolution over HDMI. If this monitor supported HDMI 2.1 instead of 2.0 this would be a different story. On a separate note, it should support 165hz at full resolution with DP 1.2, but in either case you would need to drop your resolution to achieve 180hz. Gaming is buttery smooth, and the color replication from the monitor is superb. I may even have this replace my daily driver despite the smaller size and resolution just because it's such a nice experience. Overall: It's an extremely well made monitor, quick and beautiful. The limitation of 144hz at maximum resolution due to the HDMI 2.0 spec is a little bit of a bummer, but still it's a great monitor.

Bought the monitor on sale. Honestly its a great monitor for the price. Got it for my mom to use for work as she works from home. Replace her 24 inch monitor which was a huge difference. For everyday use it looks great. You can rotate the screen 360, angle it back and forth, and raise or lower it on its neck. Only slight con is because the neck of the stand is so adjustable, if your table shakes slightly while you type and such, the monitor will shake very slightly. Otherwise, would buy again. Maybe two and go dual 32-inch monitors lol.

I was in the market for a do-everything 32-inch monitor. Work stuff, gaming, streaming, the usual. Most of what I looked at either nailed one thing and dropped the ball on something else, or cost way more than I wanted to spend. Samsung's Odyssey G5 stood out because the spec sheet reads really well for the money. QHD resolution, 180Hz, 1ms response, FreeSync and G-Sync. Hard to argue with that on paper. After some time with it, I can say the paper didn't lie. Samsung also ships it with both an HDMI and DisplayPort cable in the box, which is a small thing but saves you a trip to the store or waiting on an Amazon order before you can even use the thing. Build quality is better than I expected at this price point. Samsung's stand feels sturdy and gives you height and tilt adjustments, though it does take up a fair amount of desk space. I'm running a VESA monitor arm anyway so that wasn't a factor for me, and the standard mounting holes on the back made swapping it in easy. Bezels are thin and stay out of the way. One thing I wasn't thrilled about is the external power brick. It works fine, I just don't love having another brick to stuff behind my furniture. The ports sit kind of low on the back too. Depending on how you've got things positioned you might see cable ends sticking out under the bezel. Minor annoyance. Glare hasn't been a problem at all thanks to the matte screen finish. I have a window right behind my chair and reflections haven't been an issue. Colors look good right out of the box. I went through my usual routine of tweaking color and brightness settings, but wound up right back at the factory defaults. They're surprisingly good as-is. Viewing angles are decent for an IPS, but at 32 inches you will notice the far edges dim slightly if you're sitting close. That's just physics with IPS at this size. Black levels are okay. Not great, just okay. There's some backlight bleed in darker scenes, and at 1000:1 contrast that's kind of expected. If perfect blacks matter to you, that's OLED territory and a completely different budget. For gaming the 180Hz and 1ms response time combo keeps things looking smooth. I play a mix of FPS and open world titles and motion clarity has been really good across the board. HDR10 is technically supported but I wouldn't call it a selling point at this brightness level. Okay so here's what bugs me. Port selection is thin. One HDMI 2.0, one DisplayPort 1.2, done. No USB-C. In 2025 that feels like a miss, especially if you're plugging in a laptop. And the joystick for the on-screen menu is stuck on the back of the monitor, up high toward the center where it's really awkward to reach while you're sitting in front of the screen. Luckily you don't need it often once your settings are dialed in. But look, for what this monitor costs, I think Samsung got the important stuff right. Sharp picture, smooth motion, no complaints about day to day performance. Not a jaw-dropper by any stretch, but it gets out of the way and lets you do your thing.

If you're in the market for a new(er) monitor or looking to add a second one to your setup, the Samsung Odyssey G5 is a decent bet to go with. If you're on the fence as to whether or not to get a flat screen or curved monitor, you will be fine with this setup as it provides excellent viewing angle in addition to excellent graphics clarity. You get the standard connections with this monitor so you can hook up either your PC or gaming console with ease. Monitor clarity is quite nice to say the least. You can get very deep blacks with this monitor that can be accentuated using the Black Equalizer feature on this monitor. Response time is gaming quality and the Refresh rate provides lag free playing (assuming your GPU can handle it). A nice, but somewhat forgotten feature, of this monitor is the adjustability of it. You get height, swivel and pivot abillity with this monitor so no need for that monitor riser or phonebook to even out your shiny new monitor. All in all, a very capable monitor either as your main monitor or secondary.

In my opinion, Samsung has always been phenomenal when it comes to displays. This Samsung Odyssey monitor has it all! HUGE 32-inch display, IPS, 180Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, 2560 x 1440 QHD resolution, the attributes go on and on. This monitor is truly awesome. I’ve loved having it. Certainly, a top-notch phenomenal option for any gamer looking for the perfect display with a performance, style, and function. Display Quality: This 32" IPS TFT panel gives plenty of viewing surface to really explode my experience. IPS offers stunningly vibrant colors paired with wide viewing angles, making it the standard for both gaming and everyday multimedia viewing. The super crisp 2560 x 1440 QHD resolution means no lost details even on a larger screen. This monitor provides crisp and clear visuals every time. This is the size where I honestly think the higher resolution makes a difference, and can really make or break your experience, as long as your video card or gaming console can utilize it and maintain high frames per second. The increased resolution is excellent for things other than gaming as well as it offers more detail and precision if you’re into graphic design or hi-res photography. The lightning fast 1ms response time paired with 180Hz refresh rate means no motion blur and a silky-smooth experience. Ideal for fast-paced competitive gaming. I know I won’t miss a single thing, near or far. The visual images produced by this screen are simply stunning, it can’t be beaten. 1000:1 contrast ration and HDR 10 are also impressive. These can be appreciated in so many titles and visualizations during dark or intensely bright scenes. Design and Build: Samsung displays always have a great aesthetic look, and they are known for being sleek, stylish and functional. This monitor maintains that history and adds to it. The thin bezel has a clean look and helps minimize distractions. Also, it is good to note that this style is ideal for multi-monitor setups to avoid gaps between multiple displays. The stand really sets this monitor apart as well. Its fully adjustable with height up/down, tilt, swivel, and (what I really love) full 90-degree swivel so you can switch it to portrait viewing mode to accommodate any type of activity I want to use it for. Effortlessly converts from landscape to portrait. This provides flexibility for ergonomic customization and integration into any setup. Connectivity and Features: This monitor offers dual connectivity options, including DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 2.0, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of devices or video cards. I always appreciate both options as I never know what I’m going to connect it to next and which connection I’ll have available; this eliminates needing to acquire a converter to get my video stream from A to B. FreeSync, G-SYNC, Adaptive-Sync,,,, Whatever your device spits out this is compatible. This technology is well known to any gamer to help reduce screen tearing and stuttering in order to provide a smoother gaming experience when paired with compatible devices. This monitor pairs perfectly whether I’m using a rig with AMD or Nvidia graphics. Overall, this Samsung Odyssey monitor can be summed up in one word – AMAZING. An excellent choice for gamers seeking a top-tier performance with high-refresh-rates, immersive colors, and incredible functionality.

32" is really the minimum size these days for a gaming monitor. I was upgrading from an 8+ year old HP and this Samsung Odyssey G5 was worth the upgrade. Sure, it's not OLED, but you get QHD, fast 180Hz 1ms refresh on an IPS panel and Samsung didn't skimp on the lighting - so it's crisp, lag free, and hooked up to my custom built Windows gaming rig using the included display port cable (HDMI also included) and I'm in heaven! The Odyssey G5 stand is nice, with a clean flat base and a single tube type support. The stand is height and tilt adjustable and does rotate. There are no speakers - but I prefer gaming monitors without speakers, as I use a headset. The only little quibble is the power button is located in the rear back, which is awkward to reach. I wish Samsung had mounted the power and control buttons closer to either the front edge (but might not have been an option with the thin bezel) or at least on the back. But if you're after an amazing gaming monitor or even a great monitor for productivity, the G5 is a GREAT monitor.
