Since getting this monitor it is treated me very well however the colors out of the box are too vibrant soap setting the display to cinema mode tends to fix most of the issues that I've had with it and even though the saturation is still quite extreme for my taste turning down brightness for some reason affects the saturation which I did do to turn it down just slightly at 180 HZ the motion is smooth responsive and fast with minimal trailing which is typical for a vertical alignment but better than average as well at the same time this monitor is very responsive and though I have not used the speakers on it I will say from what I heard in the display in store it was okay at best. Generally though for gaming this monitor is excellent and even for Content consumption I would say it is very good I've watched a few movies with it so far and believe it to be quite color accurate and Cinema mode and loved the experience so far for being a 32-in monitor it is also very lightweight and easy to move as is.c the monitor stand tilt swivel and height functions are all very easy to use and have allowed me to find the perfect positioning on my desk. And finally I do believe that this monitor is worth the value that I paid for.

I did not know I needed a 32 inch until I used this Samsung Odyssey monitor. I’ve been playing at 27inch 4K screens, mostly at only 1080P because some games like Far Cry 6 strangles my gameplay everytime when 8 goons corner me in a room with their high powered guns. This 32-incher makes so much difference in size and the ability to play at QHD effectively with my 4 series RTX card without seeing much of a detail drop from 4K. First, overall size is huge. The bezels are thick at the bottom that gives it some bulky look but is not heavy at all. I was surprised when I lifted the screen to install the stand—I thought my new workout was working; this screen just happened to be much lighter than I expected. Set up was easy: components were made of light plastic but they are sturdy. This gave me the initial impression that it was sub-standard, but that is not the case until I started playing. Each part easily snaps in, though the monitor legs are a little too long towards the front for my taste; I had to rearrange some items that sit by the monitor. It comes with a power brick and two cables—a high quality HDMI 2.0, and a Display port cable. Behind the screen the 2 HDMI ports, a Display port, a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB A (unfortunately only for service) and the power port, all of which are spaced enough for easy plugging of wires. This device does not have much wire management, with only a rubber loop by the stand that I can insert the wires in. Since I plug in directly from my machine, I use HDMI which was easily recognized by the monitor’s inputs. At first pop, the monitor output looked soft—in everything. Colors looked dull, blacks seemed grayish, the details were not crisp and my refresh rate was defaulted to 60hz. I thought to myself—wait, a gaming monitor cannot be 60hz. So I tinkered more. Luckily, it was not difficult to figure it out. This monitor has its settings navigational button at the bottom center, and this was the key to unleashing the power. The menu is easy to understand. So I simply enabled the AMD freesync and adjusted the display resolution. Soonafter, fonts and icons are crisp, the color is a much better. I also adjusted the blacks, to mimic my laptop oled, because the black settings really do isolate the blacks for settings. Though this Samsung device black is not pitch dark, it had a decent range to pop colors while having decent black levels. Overall performance is good. It is mighty bright for a dark room, but also very visible by a bright window at daytime, without any glare! I only was able to top the 180hz out at 144hz but it was good enough to run my games at QHD. Again, as I mentioned earlier, I was pleased with QHD because it was the best compromise for playing 4K but still having that detail. The details are popping and I can play Forza and NFS at high speeds, strafe and spin at a busy courtyard in GTA and Far Cry while still seeing detail without tears or delays. The refresh rate speed limits motion blur, so the game looks slower, which helps me out win races. I did not see any ghosting at all, as I was very vigilant on that as I needed to compare it with motion blur, or extraneous artifacts from effects. And with the 32 inch screen, I can see far out what’s coming and I can respond well because I can see, and there is no input lag at all. I am happy with this monitor’s performance. The price is perfect for its size and quality. It is fast, bright and crisp. I do not see me spending more on other screens because I can get all that I need at this price. I definitely recommend this for PC gaming.

Nice monitor overall. Graphics are mostly good but the black levels seem distorted when gaming. Only other downside is that there aren’t any built in speakers, nor does it come with an audio cable so be ready to buy those as well.

Great quality good expertise and advice also with a great deal

This is a well-built and well-performing monitor, but it does have some curious design choices. First, as a gaming monitor, it does have a subtle gaming look, without being ugly or having useless RGB everywhere. So it still has a “gamer” look without being tacky. The display itself is a flat (not curved) 32” running 2560 x 1440, which is great for people who are running top-notch graphics cards. The stand is certainly solid enough, and gives a full range of height and tilt adjustment, as well as allowing the display to be put into a portrait mode, which is useful for some people. But you can tell that this monitor was built down to a price point, as we will see. The first thing to note is that this monitor uses a separate power supply brick, instead of having an IEC power jack (for a 120V cable) in the back. This can increase cable clutter, so might be a deal-breaker for some, but no big deal for others. The power brick is not that big, but you will have to find a place to stick it. Also, the bottom bezel looks like it has a place for a couple for speakers, but none are installed. The monitor does have an audio jack for adding your own speakers, but only one jack. You can plug in headphones or speakers, but not both. Since the audio jack is on the bottom next to the power and video input connectors, getting to it to change audio devices is not exactly convenient. Speaking of jacks, the input consists of two HDMI, and one DisplayPort. There is NO option for USB-C input, and no built-in USB hub at all, so this might not be the best choice for docking a laptop. All controls are via a small joystick on the bottom of the display. The controls were easy enough to use, as was the menu system. The first thing that I tried to do was to get the high refresh rate working. Simply stated, Windows would not allow me to increase the refresh rate and still maintain the 2560 x 1440 resolution, which I thought was curious. As it turns out, you need to go into the menu setting and ENABLE the higher refresh rates (or enable AMD Free-Sync), in order to get it to work. I have no idea why enabling a higher refresh rate is not the default, but it is easy to fix once you know about it. Using HDMI, I was able to get Windows 11 to output at 144 Hz. I could not get 165 Hz, but that might require using DisplayPort, which my laptop doesn’t support. But the 144 Hz mode does look good, and the panel is certainly fast enough. The next feature is HDR. This monitor claims “HDR10” which is not that meaningful of a standard to support. According to the manufacturer, this monitor only provides a brightness of 300 nits, which is not enough to fully support a real HDR image. Still, when viewing HDR content, it did look good, just not eye-poppingly bright. I could also see no signs of local dimming, but that is not expected in this price range. So, does it really support HDR? The answer is “sort of.” If you really want HDR, then look for something with “DisplayHDR400” certification, but that will most likely cost more. The final feature is the “virtual aim point” which will put a crosshair on the display. There are several styles and colors to choose from. Since I am more of an RPG player, this is not useful to me, but this will be useful for people who play FPS titles that don’t have aiming built it. So, there are a couple of drawbacks. Does that make this a bad monitor? Not at all! This is a GREAT monitor that I would happily use. A couple of corners have been cut as far as features, but the features that is does have are implemented well. It all comes down to price. This is a flat, 2560 x 1440, 300 nit monitor without a USB hub or built-in speakers. If this meets your needs and the price is good, then this would be a fantastic choice. The only reason not to buy this monitor is if you need a feature that is not offered here, or you find something comparable for a far cheaper price. Samsung does make great quality products, and this is no exception, but they did have to drop some specs to hit the price.

Bigger than I expected but I still love it. the HZ is limited to 144 unlike what the box is listed as. It could be a separate setting but still good nonetheless.

Samsung hit a grand slam home run with this Odyssey gaming monitor. It offers premium performance at a less than a premium price. I would highly recommend it to gamers and general users alike. I have long used Samsung products, but this is my first Samsung gaming monitor. Using this monitor for a few days has left me very impressed. I will start giving Samsung gaming monitors a first look for future purchases. It is truly amazing that this monitor offers such great picture quality at this price point. The monitor arrived is a large Odyssey branded box. It was sensibly and securely enclosed within the box with cardboard instead of styrofoam which I appreciated. Included in the box is a power cord, stand, rear port cover and HDMI and Display Port cables. The power cord consists of a large brick adapter which was likely used to keep costs down. As soon as I connected the monitor to my PC I immediately knew that the picture quality was not going to disappoint. The display was crisp, colors were vibrant, and black levels were suitably dark. I used it with my gaming PC to play a few of my favorite games and found that they looked as good as they normally do. This is actually quite impressive since some of my other monitors are significantly more expensive. The monitor resolution is QHD or Quad HD. QHD has a display resolution of 2560 x 1440p. This resolution is lower than UHD 4K which has a resolution of 3840 x 2160p. I only game at 1080p because I feel that the hit to processing power that 4K requires is not worth it. I also watched content from a few different streaming platforms on this monitor and found the picture quality to be likewise excellent. This monitor is rated as HDR10 compatible. HDR is implemented differently on PC’s than TV’s so I generally have HDR turned off on my PC’s because I do not like the way it appears. For gaming this monitor has a very fast response rate of less than 2ms. It also has a fast gaming refresh rate of 101Hz - 200Hz. The maximum refresh rate at 4K appears to be only accessible using Display Port. I was not able to confirm this because I don’t use DisplayPort. This monitor has an excellent GUI that is controlled by a thumbstick under the monitor. I found the features easy to use and access using the thumbstick. I hope other monitors start to use this type of excellent GUI. This monitor offers three rear video inputs, one Display Port and two HDMI. There is also a headphone jack. There is also a rear service USB input. The monitor does not have internal speakers. I never use internal monitor speakers so this decision to not include speakers is not a problem for me. The monitor is adjustable up and down, and side to side. This is a much appreciated feature, especially at this price point. The monitor can also be rotated 90 degrees to a vertical portrait mode which makes the display taller than it is wide. This does not have any gaming applications that I am aware of but it may benefit some applications. For all of the reasons I have stated above, this monitor is an absolute recommendation to gamers and non-gaming users alike. Even discriminating gamers are likely to appreciate what Samsung has done with their Odyssey line. I love this monitor, and I am going to enjoy using it for years to come.

What I Liked: • Lightweight build makes it easy to move or mount. • 180Hz refresh rate + 1ms response time = buttery smooth gameplay. • Includes both HDMI and DisplayPort cables—no need to buy extras. • Generous I/O: 2x HDMI 2.1b, 1x DisplayPort 1.4, USB service port (for firmware), and a 3.5mm audio jack. What Could Be Better: • No built-in speakers, so external audio is a must. • Brightness is decent, but not as punchy as some competitors. • Build quality feels more budget-tier—functional, but not premium. Overall, the Odyssey G51F is a great value for gamers or creators who want high performance without the premium price tag. This Samsung G51F gaming monitor sits at a nice price-point where it provides a quality 32-inch gaming monitor at a budget price. The monitor ships with HDMI and DisplayPort cables and is easy to assemble while still in the box. The two-piece stand easily screws together and snaps into the back of the monitor. The most difficult part of the assembly was actually snapping the two plastic ornamental pieces around the stand mount on the back. The G51F is conservatively designed and doesn’t have any fancy RGB lighting. It can be used in more formal settings yet is stylish enough to fit nicely into any gaming setup. The matte panel is impressive in quality. It has good brightness and contrast with no light bleed, stuck pixels nor other flaws observed. The color skews on the warm side by default but can be tweaked to the user’s preference. Power and navigation are all controlled via the small joystick style button underneath the screen. There is one DisplayPort and two HDMI ports on the rear of the monitor. The adjustable panel can tilt, swivel, and rotate 90-degrees from landscape to portrait orientation. It can also be mounted using 100X100 M4 screws if preferred over using the included stand. I connected the monitor to a gaming PC running an RTX4050 GPU and was impressed by the performance. The G51F handled my gaming needs with no problem. The 180Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time kept action smooth when playing fast paced games with quick rendering like racing titles. I keep resolution set to the QHD max of 2560x1440 which renders crisp sharp graphics with clean edges. I initially encountered some noticeable screen tearing in games, but activating V-sync quickly took care of it and yielded clean mostly artifact-free graphics. I get an occasional flicker here and there but nothing lasting or bad enough to impact gaming. The monitor is AMD FreeSync compatible which may combat this even more on AMD GPUs, but it’s not a beneficial feature for me since I use an Nvidia GPU. I’ve already played several games with different lighting environments and effects. I've also played both day and night scenes to test how well the monitor renders blacks and dark scenes compared to brighter scenery. It handled the different challenges quite nicely. I’ll admit, I’ve become a bit biased towards gaming on OLED screens rather than LED screens when given the choice. The blacks and contrast aren’t as deep or rich looking on this VA panel as they are on my OLED screen, but still look pretty good and more than acceptable, especially with HDR10 active. Some people even find OLED too contrasty, so this may be perfect for them. There is also a black equalizer feature to further enhance blacks and dark scenes. I don’t currently use the virtual aiming feature, but it’s a nice to have feature if I ever need it. The monitor does not have built-in speakers, but like many gamers I prefer to use external speakers and headsets anyhow, so it isn’t a deal breaker for me. There really isn’t anything here that isn’t needed which is good because it means no unnecessary bloat to drive up the price. It’s a really good quality mid-range monitor at a budget price with good picture quality, screen size, features, and performance.

The Odyssey G5 is a pretty decent choice for entry-level gaming but has a few small areas that could be improved. The monitor overall has a gorgeous QHD display and does a great job of reducing glare. The 180 Hz refresh rate is buttery smooth, though I had some real difficulties getting the monitor to hit this rate (more on that below). Out of the box, the monitor is lightweight and easy to set up. The extendable arm snaps and locks securely to the back of the monitor without tools, and I mounted the base to the arm using just finger strength. The stand and monitor feel extremely sturdy, and adjusting the height is nearly effortless. The tilt feature is smooth and very useful for quick angle changes. I ran this panel through Eizo Monitor Test, and was really happy with the results for the most part, but found a few things worth mentioning, such as slight backlight bleed in the corners when displaying a pure black screen in a dark room. It’s subtle and not really noticeable. I also struggled with cyan and red gradients, with minor banding/less smooth transitions in those ranges. My gamma measurement outperformed the standard 2.2, coming in around 2.8. One head-scratcher is the inclusion of two HDMI 2.0 ports instead of HDMI 2.1. Without HDMI 2.1, you are really limiting your options for connectivity. For example, if you’re using this monitor with a PlayStation 5, you’ll only get about half the resolution and refresh rate. On PC, you also won’t hit the full 180 Hz refresh rate unless you use the DisplayPort connection. I was also surprised to see the lack of a USB-B upstream port to create a USB hub for connectivity. I rely on those hubs for gaming, it’s a huge convenience to be able to connect your peripherals directly through the monitor. While this monitor does have a single USB-A 2.0 port, there’s no USB-C support. There’s also a headphone jack, but no built-in speakers , which does seem to be the norm these days. As for the refresh rate issue, I spent nearly two hours troubleshooting just to get past 60 Hz. For reference, I’m running an RTX 4090, so hardware wasn’t the issue. I initially downloaded the monitor drivers from Samsung, but surprisingly, this requires installing .NET Framework 3.5, which is long outdated. It felt like a lot of effort just to grab an .INF file, and ultimately didn’t solve the problem. The only solution that worked was to open the NVIDIA software, create a custom resolution, and manually set it to 180 Hz. Again, this only works via DisplayPort since the monitor lacks HDMI 2.1. In comparison to my four-year-old Odyssey G9, which sits right next to this monitor, the colors on the G5 are noticeably more vivid. The overall display on the G5 looks sharper, and the higher refresh rate feels smoother. Considering my G9 cost nearly three times as much, I’m impressed with how far Samsung has come with the G-series lineup. Overall, I think this is a great entry-level gaming monitor. For me, it works well as a secondary display, but if it were my primary, I’d definitely want USB-B hub support and upgraded HDMI ports for a more versatile experience.

Verdict. The Samsung Odyssey G51F brings together what you really need for serious gaming, while minimizing unnecessary costs, to deliver an affordable and high-quality 32-inch screen. Considering price, size, features, and performance, this monitor is a winner! First impression. 32 inches is a fantastic screen size. This monitor is quite light; I definitely get a mostly plastic impression. Setup is very easy… Connect the base to the stand, and then connect the stand to the monitor. Then plug the cable with power brick, and play! It’s important to note that to maximize your experience with this monitor, you need to go into settings and customize blacks, brightness, refresh rate, and response speed. Design. The screen looks fine, without any particular features, except for the blue ring in the back and the two flairs on the bottom front corners (they look like speakers). I like the minimalist, no-excess design. Performance. The monitor performed quite well at its max settings of 180Hz and “Extreme (MBR)” response time, and performed perfectly when settings were managed by FreeSync. My experience playing Black Ops 6 was fantastic: optimal resolution, smooth image, great colors, and no tearing. For FPS games, this monitor includes AimPoint (see picture), but lacks virtual zoom (available on some high-end monitors). I did compare this monitor side-by-side with a 27" OLED 4K screen, and of course you can tell the difference in resolution and vibrant colors, but you will spend MUCH more to get high-end exquisite HDR performance. This monitors gives you what you need and does it well. What I love. - Fantastic price to value ratio - Fairly thin and nice-looking monitor - FreeSync for better gameplay and reduced tearing - 2k definition; crisp image - Great refresh rate (180Hz) and great video response rate (1ms) - Decent contrast ratio (3000:1); adjust blacks and brightness in the settings to get better results - Eye-saver mode (low and high)! Super helpful for me on long computer days. I use “low”; I think “high” is harder to see so requires more eye concentration (??) - Good range of viewing angles - Custom color modes by gameplay (FPS, RTS, RPG, AOS, Cinema) - Great stand; adjustable vertically, tilt forward / backwards, and easy switch from landscape to portrait mode - 32” inch is the new 27” standard. I want all my “normal” monitors to be 32” - Quality cables are included (DP and HDMI) - 2x HDMI, 1x DP, 1 headphone jack - Lots of customizable options in the screen settings, to include typical gaming features like virtual aim point What I don’t love. - No integrated speakers, but that’s expected for gaming monitors. Plus, at this price point, best to save cost rather than add cheap speakers - I don’t love the rubber tie at the bottom of the stand for cable management. It’s hard to snap back in Overall, this monitor is a winner: high value for your money, packed with the right features, great performance, and 32 inches! I highly recommend this monitor.

Today I added the Samsung - 32" Odyssey G51F QHD 180Hz 1ms AMD FreeSync Gaming Monitor with HDR10 (DisplayPort, HDMI) in black to my home gaming/office setup. First off, Samsung designed the G51F to look like a gaming monitor, with sleek angles, adjustable tilt, height and also flips to portrait mode for super easy document creation and web page viewing – see photo. Out of the box it connected to my Windows 11 machine with the default 60Hz refresh rate, so the first thing I did was adjust that to the highest setting I could – settling at 120Hz using and HDMI connection. I’m thinking you can go higher with Displayport, but I don’t have that available on my computer. In a variety of test settings, I found this budget gaming monitor to provide fast response and clear images at 2560x1440 resolution. I don’t have a big need for the Virtual Aim Point feature but see how that could be helpful to some during game play. Another feature called Black Equalizer help to highlight the dark areas of the screen during game play – making your opponents easier to spot in the shadows! Overall – this is a nice monitor to enhance your gaming or general computing experience and can also make your working from home more productive! If you’re in the market for a new monitor, the Samsung G51F is worth checking out!

What a fantastic all-around monitor! Starting with its size—32 inches offers a generous screen space that’s very welcome not just for gaming, but also for work like software development, video editing, and general productivity. You get a lot of screen real estate without compromising image quality, which remains sharp and detailed even at this scale. The visuals are crisp and vibrant, especially during gameplay. Every detail pops with rich color, and I didn’t experience any lag or performance hiccups in the titles I tested. Brightness levels were spot-on—great in a dark room, but also solid in daylight as I would expect. One minor drawback: when using it as a general-purpose monitor, I noticed that my laptop’s screen looked more vibrant and colorful compared to the mirrored image on the Odyssey. Granted, my laptop screen is much smaller, but after seeing how stunning the monitor looks during gameplay, I had high hopes for everyday use. I tweaked the image settings, and while that helped, it still didn’t quite match the vibrancy of my laptop display. The built-in menu is intuitive and easy to navigate, thanks to the joystick-style button located at the bottom center of the screen. Adjusting settings feels quick and effortless. It doesn’t come with built-in speakers, which is fairly standard, so I wouldn't say it’s a major drawback. Still, it might have been nice to have that option. Most people likely use headphones or external speakers anyway, so this is probably not a big deal at all for most. I also appreciated how lightweight it is, yet how sturdy it feels. Bonus points for including both HDMI and DisplayPort cables in the box. Overall, I’d absolutely recommend the Samsung 32in Odyssey G51F Gaming Monitor!

I am writing this review for the Samsung 32" Odyssey G51F QHD 180Hz 1ms AMD FreeSync Gaming Monitor with HDR10 After several days of playing with the Odyssey G51F, I can confidently say this monitor offers a lot of bang for the buck, especially if you’re looking for smooth gaming performance without stepping into the expensive ultra-high-end territory world of gaming monitors. In my book, this is a keeper. Setup & Build Quality: Out of the box, setup was painless. The stand snaps together easily and feels solid—no wobble when adjusting. It’s got tilt, swivel, and height adjustment, which is great at this price point. The design follows Samsung’s usual Odyssey “futuristic but not overdone” look. Bezels are slim enough to disappear when you’re focused on the game. Samsung even includes a blue bezel thing that covers up where the stand meets the monitor. Looks cool. Picture Quality (VA Panel): This is a 32-inch QHD (2560×1440) display, and the size/resolution combo hits a sweet spot: crisp detail without making icons microscopic. The monitor uses a VA panel (Vertical Alignment), which is known for its excellent contrast and deep blacks—a big plus if you enjoy dark games, movies, or nighttime scenes. Colors are vibrant and sharp, and the high native contrast ratio makes images feel more immersive than many IPS screens. The trade-off is that VA panels don’t have quite the same wide viewing angles as IPS. If you’re sitting directly in front of it (as most gamers do), you’ll love the depth and richness. But if you’re looking at it from sharp off-angles, colors and brightness can shift a little. Response times are solid for this model, though in very fast-paced scenes you might notice a hint of ghosting compared to top-tier IPS panels, but only a very tiny hint, and probably would not be noticeable to anyone else not taking a critical view at a product, such as in this review. HDR10 Support: The G51F supports HDR10 (High Dynamic Range, 10-bit color), which is designed to deliver brighter highlights, deeper shadows, and smoother color gradients—over a billion shades instead of just millions. In practice, HDR10 means sunsets, explosions, and neon lights look more vibrant, while dark areas reveal extra detail. That said, because this monitor doesn’t have the ultra-high brightness or local dimming zones of premium HDR TVs, the HDR effect is more subtle than dramatic. It’s there, and it’s nice—but it won’t match the punch of an OLED or mini-LED display. Gaming Performance (FreeSync & High Refresh): Here’s where it shines. The 180Hz refresh rate with 1ms MPRT response time keeps motion buttery smooth. On top of that, it includes AMD FreeSync Premium—a feature that lets the monitor and your graphics card “sync up” their speeds. Normally, if your GPU and monitor get out of step, you see ugly tearing or stuttering. (Haven’t we all experienced that before!) FreeSync solves that by letting the monitor’s refresh rate adjust in real time to match your GPU’s frame output. The result? No tearing, no laggy feel—just smooth, responsive gameplay. I almost always play in the dark. There is nothing more distracting than room lights reflecting off the screen. I first tested the G51F with Cyberpunk 2077, a game that can really push both GPU and display. The results were impressive—neon signs and holograms popped with vivid HDR10 color, while the VA panel’s deep blacks gave Night City’s alleyways a moody, cinematic feel. At 1440p with FreeSync active, gameplay was smooth and responsive, even during fast driving or intense firefights. It felt immersive, like the monitor was made for this kind of world. I also put the G51F through its paces with Call of Duty: Warzone, where quick reflexes and smooth visuals really matter. Again, the 180Hz refresh rate combined with FreeSync kept motion crisp and eliminated tearing, even in frantic close-quarters firefights. The 1ms response time helped targets stay sharp while tracking, and I didn’t notice any distracting ghosting even during rapid camera spins. Colors were bold and clear, and the VA panel’s contrast made it easy to spot enemies hiding in shadowy corners. The monitor kept up with every twitch and snap decision, giving me confidence that nothing on screen was holding me back. Audio (or rather, the lack of it): Worth noting—the G51F doesn’t include built-in speakers. Some people might see that as a drawback, but in practice, it’s not. Most monitor speakers are weak and tinny, and gamers almost always use headsets or external speakers anyway. By skipping them, Samsung focused on what matters: great panel quality, smooth refresh, and reliable build—without inflating the price for audio you’d never really use. Extra Features: The OSD menu is straightforward, with quick access to refresh rate, black equalizer, and picture modes. Samsung even added an “eye saver mode” and flicker-free tech for long sessions, which genuinely helps reduce fatigue. I’ve never been one to use the eye-saver mode. For me, it just does something weird to the colors, and is very noticeable. I understand that sitting for long hours working on a paper can by eye fatiguing, but this is a gaming monitor, after all. Potential Downsides: • No USB-C input (only HDMI and DisplayPort), which might matter for some laptop users. • HDR support is there, but it’s basic—it improves brightness and vibrancy, but doesn’t compare to true HDR TVs or OLED panels. • VA panels deliver fantastic contrast, but viewing angles aren’t as strong as IPS, and very fast motion can sometimes show (very) minor ghosting. Final Thoughts: The Samsung Odyssey G51F nails the essentials: smooth gameplay, vibrant color, HDR10 support, and a sturdy build at a fair price. It doesn’t bother with gimmicks like cheap built-in speakers—it’s clearly built as a serious gaming monitor. Add in the fluidity of FreeSync, the deep blacks of a VA panel, and the high refresh rate, and you’ve got a display that feels fast, immersive, and reliable. For desktop PC gamers especially, this is a fantastic choice. And I will be showing it off to my friends and other family members.

There’s a lot to like about this Samsung 32” Odyssey monitor. Its priced reasonably for the specs and performance you get. Initial observations: The monitor stand is clean looking and is highly adjustable. It is height adjustable, can pivot left and right (not too much), and tilt up and down. It is constructed out of plastic, I guess you have to cut somewhere to keep the price down. It is VESA Wall Mount compatible as well. Ports include 2-HDMI 2.0, display port, USB-A port, and headphone jack, but surprisingly no USB-C ports. Looking at the front of the monitor, the left and right corner design has a section that extends slightly lower than the rest of the monitor, it looks like it could be a speaker, but there are no speakers built in. The back of the monitor includes a clear blue plastic ring to cover up where the stand connects to the monitor, giving it a cleaner look. It looks like there would be some ambient lighting feature built into the ring on the back, but there are not. Performance: This is a VA panel, this stands for “vertical alignment”. This type of monitor technology is known for its high contrast rations, allowing it to display deeper blacks. These panels are known to perform well in dark rooms. Another positive is they don’t risk burn-in like OLED type monitors. With a refresh rate of 180Hz, the gameplay on this monitor is very smooth. I didn’t experience any stuttering, ghosting or tearing during gameplay. After several hours of gaming, I grew to like this monitor. It worked flawlessly for the games I played. It was also good for movies! Other items to note: A HDMI cable and a display port cable are included. The OSD is easy to navigate to adjust monitor settings. Final thoughts Overall, this is a great monitor for the price. It’s a good balance of performance, picture quality, screen size and features. I actually prefer this screen size over the wide screens that I’ve been seeing a lot of lately. The G51 doesn’t look flashy at all and the design and plastic frame does look a bit “budget”.

This monitor exceeded my expectations. The colors are crisp, the screen is bright, and everything looks super smooth. Easy to set up and works perfectly with my setup.

I’m very happy with the choice I made to buy this monitor. Out of the box it was an easy set up. I’m not to techy. I’m going to buy a second one.
