Shakes more than my last Samsung
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My 11 year old Samsung front loader finally bit the dust and I decided to buy another. This time it has steam. The new washer DID NOT fit the old pedestal base and I had to pay 250 for a another one. I have done about 25 loads since it was delivered and it shakes during spin much more than my old one did. It makes the machine move across the floor every once in a while too. My old one rarely if ever did this. I may call for service if this continues to shake, rattle and roll.

WF42H5200AP Is an amazing washing machine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had this washing machine for a month and so far I haven't had any problems with it. Delivery was on time and after reading the manual it was ready to do laundry. I didn't get the pedestals and actually I think its best if the machine sits on the floor. It washes quietly and you don't even hear it running until it is spinning the clothes out. I don't know why some people complain that it is loud when spinning. Yes it does make noise when on the spin cycle but that is normal. Sometimes the machine does get off balance but the machine stops itself and automatically balances itself. This is normal for a front load machine because the clothes are tumbling unlike a front load washer where you place the clothes evenly and they stay that way. I tried every cycle on this washer and I think my favorite is bedding because it uses the most water. It does clean clothes real good even on normal which uses the least amount of water. The first load I did I had a shirt in the washer with oil stains from frying food and the washer took the stain out and I was impressed. Some people complain that there is water in the soap container, mine doesn't have water in the soap container. Maybe they didn't level the machine good? Also with the soap container the plastic inserts act as siphon cap, so if you don't leave the blue liquid fabric softer plastic piece in, the water will not drain. This is a good washing machine and I haven't had a single problem with it. Just remember to REMOVE THE SHIPPING BOLTS, Level the machine and RUN THE CALIBRATION MODE by pressing Temp and Delayed end at the same time then press the start button. Calibration mode is important because once the machine is leveled and isn't wobbling on any of the 4 corners, the calibration modes adapts the machines drum spinning and provides a more accurate weight level for water to be added to the machine. Now to save for the matching dryer. I am in love with laundry now, the machine performs beautifully and she is a beauty to look at too. Laundry is no longer a chore with this machine, it is a pleasure.

Decent machine for the price point
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When comparing capacity and features, this machine offers a lot for the money. However, deeper review should show that this machine is not the same type of steam as other manufacturers. Whirlpool and Maytag use a steam generator on their machines, whereas Samsung creates steam with hot water and a heating element. This extends the cycle time and can be harder on fabrics. Other than that, the machine cleans well, is super quiet and easy to use.

Great so far, but different from my old top-loader
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our venerable old stand-up washer finally gave up the ghost. We've had this new one for a month and a half and so far it's great. Quiet, efficient, and gentle, and plays a happy jingle when the laundry's done. It does take longer to run a load than the top-loading kind on average. For our slow-paced household, the benefits outweigh the extra time per load, but your mileage may vary. On the plus side, the digital display will tell you in advance exactly how long your load will take based on the settings you've selected, which lets you plan your loads very precisely. One small problem though is that there's no easy way to "fast forward" a cycle in progress. On my old stand-up you could just spin the dial a few notches further; with the digital display, the only way that I've found to speed things up during the wash cycle is to turn the machine off, then turn it back on, then initiate the "rinse and spin" cycle separately. This is pretty painless in practice (the machine turns on and off quickly) but a little more flexibility would have been nice. This is a fairly minor quibble, though. This has been a great washer for our household so far. It's made me more conscientious about how I do laundry, since I have so much control over spin speed, temperature, and extra cycles. My clothes spend less time in the dryer because they wring out so well, and at the same time they show less wear and tear than before. Lastly: I've heard a lot of different opinions on how long these front-loading washers last. Some people say they break down within a few years, others say that was only an issue with the early generations and those bugs have been fixed. Still others say that you won't have trouble as long as you use the washer within specifications. So, we're going to do the best to keep it in good condition: leave the door open after you're done to prevent mildew from growing, don't load the drum past 50%, use only HE detergent (most brand names are HE nowadays but make sure you check; it's marked on the package) and clean the filter every two months. Hopefully this washer will be with us for a long time.

Great washer with great features
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced a high efficiency top loader with this unit and couldn't be happier. The washer is extremely quiet. Our clothes come out much cleaner and we are able to wash larger loads. Very well built machine and extremely heavy 300 lbs.! The spin cycle is great almost drying the clothes on its own cutting dry times in half. Well worth the investment.

Nightmare appliance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought a floor model and had it delivered. Upon delivery crew found the feet were missing. After 2 trips to the store, I (not the crew) was able to finish the install. Then it started to leak after the 2nd cycle. Had to get replaced.

Great washer/dryer set
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Chose washer and dryer based on online review, as well as checking it out in person at my Best Buy store. Quick delivery fantastic! :). The units run very nice(not too loud) my clothes are perfectly cleaned. Love all the options, normal, delicate, and steam! Initially purchased without pedestal drawers thinking it wasn't needed, and didn't want to spend the extra cost.....however, as I read other reviews if you don't mind being so low loading and unloading then no biggie. However, it was ridiculously low and I am not suffering any physical issues. It was just really awkward, so bought the pedastals and delivered and installed within such a short time! :) :) I am double happy and would tell any friend, family or coworker to buy this set.

So far so good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased Samsung 5200 washer/dryer set for my new home. White option was sold out, so I had to pay additional for the platinum color (paying extra just for the color was not my plan). Luckily though, best buy started a sale shortly after my purchase and I was able to get the price matched with no problem. I read the reviews in detail before my purchase, so I knew how long cycles take. No complaints there. Normal washes take ~50-60 mins depending on the spin cycle. Machines are quieter than I expected. My laundry closet is nearby my living room and even though the closet doors are open during the wash and dry, the noise does not bother me at all. I only had a minor issue with one of my washes where I selected low spin cycle and apparently if there is water left in the washer, the door does not unlock. I had to run the machine in spin cycle only for couple more minutes and the door unlocked after then. But other than that, no issues so far. Kudos to BestBuy for matching the sale price after my purchase and the delivery and installation.

Excellent Washer For Small Family
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a little skeptical to switch from a top loading washer to a front loading washer, but Samsung has changed my mind! This washer can handle up to King size bedding with ease and the built in steam functions are great to know that I'm sanitizing my clothes each time I wash them. I have my washer in a home with 3 very active people and it has proven itself and kept up with us! It's quiet, efficient and eco-friendly which is a huge plus for me. Definitely will buy a Samsung again!

Excellent washer and dryer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We replaced a 15 y/o washer and dryer. Its amazing how much water and electricty they DONT use. Since we have moved into 21st century washing and drying our clothes are actually clean. Its excellent on keeping you white clothes white. We were not sure if we would use all of the settings but we actually do. The washer and dryer are holding up well so far as its only been a month. We have 6 people in our family, so it gets a work out washing and drying. The dryer is great only runs as long as it needs to, to dry the clothes and shuts off. The only thing with the washer is that some of the cycles are a little long like the sanitize, can be 2hrs. We do a lot of bath towels so when they come out they are clean. There are plenty of other cycles that will do the job and not as long.

Buy the insurance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the washer- does what it supposed to. But after two weeks, a squeaking noise is heard during part of wash cycle and spin cycle. The noise got worse with each wash although it doesn't seem to affect the washing capability. We bought this just before Christmas so customer service was busy. we finally had enough of the high pitch squeaky noise, but by then BB said I'm outside my return/ refund period. We didn't want to return, just want service to fix the noise but because it's outside the 15 day period, they said they aren't responsible for anything. Called Samsung - took 3 tries because customer service center (outsourced to somewhere in India) has to put my order to local machine repair company (I'm in Sacramento) who in turn have to call me and schedule time for the technician to come out. Appointments were full for at least a week ( I'm thinking if my machine broke down I'll be very upset if I had to wait so long) before a slot is available for tech to come for troubleshooting. Tech showed today ( from Techtikon)- very professional and efficient. Opened the whole machine and added a noise filter ( a piece of foam to line the front metal cover of machine). It seemed easy but we would never have guessed it was that. We were thinking it was leveling issue and tried to fix the feet in different height which didn't help. In hindsight, I wish I bought the insurance!!! We didn't think it's necessary - c'mon im buying a Samsung !!! And we've owned Samsung washer dryer for past 7 years- never had a problem. The Samsung tech said he's fully booked everyday which tells you machines do break down. He did say this model ( esp front loaders) didn't seem to have that much issues. But the calls he get are usually when the unit is more than a year old which means it's outside the standard manufacturer warranty! Good to note that he said usually it's s maintenance issue that were lead causes of machine breakdown. There is a filter on the left bottom of the unit which he said we should periodically clean to keep it clean. Sounds simple ...have to make a mental note to do it. Another note is if you are considering this model, check with your local utility company for rebates. We didn't and found out the wf42H5000AW model (I think a couple cycles lesser than this 5200 model we bought) would have qualify the rebate which would have saved us $150. I'm sort of dissapointed to learn that stuff these days all necessitate warranty purchase on top because the rate of things falling apart and service costs are so high that IF you do need to make that call, you wish you paid for that warranty. Now, I'm just praying the machine will be ok beyond manufacturers 1 yr warranty.

You really won't be disappointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll start this review with stating up front I can be extremely difficult to get to commit to expensive purchases. With that said I did A LOT of research into washers and dryers. I bounced between the pros and cons of each major brand and each different model under each brand. I tried to figure out why they decided to remove the agitator from top loaders! Big mistake! Huge! Why HE seemed like a great idea?!? I mean who doesn't love using 3 cups of water for an entire load of laundry! Why pedestals are so ridiculously expensive when honestly they really should be part of the package, or at least the machines should be a minimum 12" taller! With that said I decided on the Samsung front loading washer. It offered plenty of options for most any washing situation. Unlike LG models the Samsungs also offer the ability to spin the clothes, should they have to much water left in them, WITHOUT adding more water! The lack of this option immediately removed all LG models! The washer is easy to use. The controls are all pretty much self explanatory. It holds a lot of clothes to help cut down on the time it takes to do laundry. My only real complaints, and the reason I only gave it 4 stars is that the price of pedestals, which I view as a mandatory item just to raise the machines a bit higher, are far too expensive! Also despite being completely level I frequently have to push the washer back into place as it likes to move a bit.

Great till now
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This washer is great, cleans better, is relatively quiet and so easy to use. I rented a washer/dryer combo for years before buying this washer and i am happy that i chose this washer. My only worry is that i will have to do the installation on my own if i move to a different house but hopefully it will be easy as well :)

Great Value Front Loading Washer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Holds a good sized load of laundry - good for doing laundry for a family of 4 or 5 even. It is quiet, the clothes come out very clean and relatively gently treated. The clothes load never seems to get out of balance. For the price range of this washer (around $850) this one is great performer and should be highly considered.

Wow washer worth the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to operate with features to cover all my needs. Large size means less time spent loading and unloading and means fewer washes needed. Really like the wt adjustment and subsequent water use. The lint basket is a wonderful feature which allows cleaning and maintenance. Manual is easy to understand.Overall it's a terrific machine for a reasonable price. Go, Samsung!

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was Leary of front load washers because of family and friends experiences. Also, I had a top load for so long I didn't know another way. After reading some reviews I decided to purchase it. It has been wonderful! Get gets may loads very clean...no matter the size.
