I purchased this set after trying two other brands in this size range and returning to the store disappointed on both occasions. Needless to say, this is the set I should have gone with from the start. Yes, there are sets that are slightly larger at a lesser price point from competing brands though I assure you the quality between is incomparable. This set simply has the best picture quality available for this size and price range, in my personal opinion.

Purchased this tv as I already own a Samsung 32” model. Just wanted a larger screen for my main tv viewing. This was so easy to set up, the color is fantastic as is the sound and I do not use a sound bar. You definitely get what you pay for with a Samsung.

I would have given 5 stars for this TV ,but the 1st one didn't start up. Nothing,Nada, . No sound or Picture not even a click or hum.. But the replacement works fine, started right up after a slight pause. The Remote won't tell you its doing anything which kinda sucks when the TV don't work. No light on it that blinks or anything. Picture is great. Changes channels pretty quick Din't use it enough to go into much more detail. Sound is good for my 12x13 Kids room. The power cord is bidirectional. was a little worried I plugged it in the wrong direction on the 1st TV causing it no to function..i THINK THERE IS AN UPGRADE OF THE REMOTE AVAILABLE..

I had been wanting to purchase a new TV for quite some time, but it really wasn't on my family's list of priorities due to the cost. However, I had just paid off my Best Buy Credit Card within the 1 year after purchasing a Macbook Air, and I decided it was time. I went into the store with my dad and we instantly realized this was the day. It was one of the easiest processes with an electronic EVER. We bought it, drove home, carried it up our stairs (which wasn't difficult because it is SO light) & were able to start it up within 30 minutes. The picture is fantastic; it's an amazing upgrade considering we had a 32 inch CRT Sony TV since 2003 in our living room.

Inexpensive 4k with a splash of HDR

If you're looking for a good under $500 tv with 4k and HDR then you're looking in the right spot. Now I've owned a Hisense H8C and H6 both 55 inch, and my main tv was a KS8500 till I just sold that and got a 60 inch Samsung Qled. Now let's get into this tv, first off it's brightness is not going to take full advantage of HDR content since it's probably around 500nits vs 1000nits which really makes everything pop, but for Samsung's 4k HDR Pro which is not true 10bit HDR with a wide gamut like many higher end models ( mu8000, Qled, Sony, and LG that cost easily $850+ ) but it does the job. This particular 40 inch is perfect for a small bedroom, small apartment and having room for a hone therate system/soubdbar and sub. But there's alot to be desired from Samsung to keep up with the other tv's at this price. Sound quality sucks, washed out blacks, game mode latency could be lower and the backlight led can be funky sometimes causing screen to dim and brighten up without input which is unwanted. Overall in sale for $434 after taxes it's good for the price, if you have a few extra bucks go with a open box 7000/8000 series or the TCL 605p that has HDR10 and Dolby Vison as well as Atmos support. That tv blows away anything within sub $700 and punches above it's weight class

I own a 9000 series and now a 6000 series. You really just can't go wrong with Samsung I have owned many models and have never had a problem out of them. I don't mind paying higher price for the better brand and you get what you pay for. GREAT TV

Purchased this to replace a 10 year old LCD TV. We had thought the HD experience we had was good. This took it to the next level. Amazing picture quality and we haven't yet had an opportunity to see anything in 4K yet. The TV was very easy to set up with our existing home network. Quickly got all the accounts set up for online services. Integrated with DISH network very well. We have an older DISH receiver and the integration is very minimum, but that is the receiver, not the TV. Very happy with this purchase. Highly recommend.

Good sharp picture. Easy set up. Would get 5 stars but first one I bought would flash off and on sometimes when I first turned it on. Exchange it with no problem at Best Buy and new one has worked great. Have only run it for 2 days so far so I hope the problem was isolated to the one TV.

Watched a classic movie on our new TV last night and it felt like we were seeing it for the first time. Clear picture, and large enough screen to see details we had missed in the past--yet not so huge that we needed to rearrange our entire room to make it fit. I like that we could alter the brightness/contrast to make it look like we were viewing the film in a theatre. A few things we learned along the way: (1) Set up takes TIME! Gone are the days when you open the box, plug in the TV, and watch it! (Yeah, I know that dates me.) (2) You need to buy HDMI cables; they don't come with the TV. (3) IMPORTANT: You must have a minimum of 4" between the sides of the TV and any other furniture. We didn't know this when we bought the TV and had purchased the largest size possible to fit in our old (but beautiful) entertainment center. Wrong. Every brochure and blog warned that newer TVs placed fewer than 4" from other furniture creates a fire hazard. (4) I cannot report on the sound/speaker that comes with the TV; we bought a sound bar and LOVE it.

Cyber Monday deal: $299 for a 40 inch 4k UHD Samsung you can't pass up. Very vivid colors and smooth navigation between input sources and smart apps. Easy wizard set up and sound is loud enough for any bedroom or living room. Box mentioned netflix and hulu but I was worried it didn't have amazon but it does. It doesn't have plex app but it has all the major apps. Great quality and great buy. Please feel free to comment if you may have any questions.

First of all, (at a sale price) this TV is a great buy. The picture is solid, the HDR functions well, and the other features are pretty decent. Sound is good, and so is the selection of inputs around the back. Just keep in mind: Although this is a Samsung, it’s one of the cheaper models and won’t perform as well as a more expensive one. Also, there’s only optical audio out on the back so if you had regular headphone-jack speakers like I did they’ll need to be replaced. Other than that, for the price I paid, it’s a great TV to get started with for 4K playback. NOTE: This item pairs well with an Xbox One S, also available from Best Buy! Happy Holidays :)

Bought one of these on Cyber Monday. Really didn't need it because I had bought a 32 inch Samsung Smart TV a year ago. I wanted the Ultra for my living room and the price was right so I couldn't pass it up. That was a bargain to get a quality TV like Samsung for $300.00 and free shipping to boot. The picture is excellent and even better than my smaller TV with the Ultra. This TV also does have the HDR although the description say's it doesn't. This is my 4th Samsung product that I have bought from Best Buy and I've gotten great deals each time.

This TV replaced a Toshiba that was about 9 years old, worked well, but was not set up with connections for Netflix. The picture is very clear. I like how fast it turns on. My smaller Sony LCD TV is slow to turn on and change channels, but this is much faster. A surprise is that with the same antenna I get many more channels, and the ones that came in poorly before come in well. I do not have cable and only use broadcast channels, so this was a nice surprise. Set-up was easy. I've only had it about a week, but I'm pleased.

Got this to replace an old 1080 that was about to give out. I didn't really need a 4k tv, but prices have come down so much on 4k tv's, plus I wanted the smart features, so I picked this one up for just over $300! Amazing! This is my first 4k TV and I am very impressed. The image is clear and the contrast is great. Beats my old Samsung 1080 hands down! Of course, any non-HD content viewed on a 4k tv, will look the same as on any other tv. Also, if you don't have any 4k content, you will not see any quality difference from a 1080 set. This is something a lot of people don't realize and are disappointment when they set up their new 4k tv at home and the picture doesn't look as good as in the store. The only 4k content that I have viewed was some 4k videos on YouTube. Superb clarity and vivid colors. What I really like is the smart features of the tv. I can send a bluetooth signal from my phone to listen to music, and watch YT videos or search the web by accessing my wifi router. You can also stream movies and shows from place like Netflix, Hulu, etc. if you subscribe to their service. The setup was very easy and fast. There is a step by step guide that will walk you through everything. I only gave it 4 stars is because of a couple of reasons. One reason, is because of the tv stand. I have it on a shelf and have a sound bar in front of it. The soundbar is only 3" tall, but partially blocks the sensor that receives the signal from the remote. So, when I am sitting on my couch watching tv, I have to hold the remote at least at chest level for it to work, which is an annoyance. I understand that Samsung made the stand low to make it more stable, but it's something to be aware of it you plan to place a soundbar in front of the tv. And speaking of soundbar, that's my second reason for the 4 stars. The internal speaker are bad...really bad. You will need to get a soundbar. Trust me on this. Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase.

I’ve had this tv for about 4 months and so far have been very happy with the purchase. The picture is excellent It was very easy to set up and only took a few minutes. I read a few reviews where people said they had issues with connecting the smart function with the internet. I don’t use that function much, but when I have, it’s worked fine. I have this outside on screened in porch and no issues. Would think that would be a pretty good test to connect to the wireless router given it’s outside. Being outside, I get a lot of ambient light - more so in a typical indoor room, but the tv looks good. One other feature I like is the stand. It’s 1 leg that extends out from the center and makes it sturdy on the table it sits on. Ovetall a good value for the price. This tv replaces another Samsung that I gave to my daughter for her college dorm. That Samsung was on the outside porch for several tears and worked fine. I think that’s a great testament to Samsung quality.
