The first time I turned it on and checked out the pictures I have taken, it was immediately obvious how OLED is the best for color accuracy and contrast. My wife thought OLED was just a gimmick and didn't see a reason for paying extra for it. Now she is convinced and wants to replace our main TV next year. I only have a RTX 3080 and I can see that I am hitting a GPU bottleneck. But with the settings dialed back it is amazing for gaming. I am looking forward to working on my photography projects and gaming on this display. Worth every penny!

It's a gorgeous monitor, I'm a big gamer and tech enthusiast. Upgraded from the original CRG9, I didn't think OLED could look this much better! You can see every little detail in dark scenes, and black is BLACK. There's just no description that works, you have to see it! 240hz has been great, most games can't reach close to that using a 7900xtx. Highly recommend if you find a good price, no burn in over 4 months of heavy gaming use. I did buy best buys burn in warranty just in case though. The smart features are a small annoyance with popups when it turns on/wakes but otherwise it's fine.

I scored this incredible monitor during the 4th of July sale at such a low price I’d rather not say . Originally bought a used one that accidentaly was missing parts, but Best Buy made the return process quick and painless. They found me a brand-new unit that could be delivered in 2 days. The Samsung Odyssey G9 looks stunning in my setup—perfect for productivity and absolutely jaw-dropping for gaming. Whether I’m crunching numbers in Excel or racing in the F1 simulator, this monitor performs like a masterpiece worthy of an art gallery. If I could give it 20/5 stars, I would!

Absolutely stunning display! The colors are vibrant, the 240Hz refresh rate is buttery smooth, and the ultrawide aspect ratio makes gaming and multitasking incredible. It’s a game changer for immersive gameplay and productivity.

This is the best monitor that I have ever owned! Everything from the screen to the design is phenomenal. Every time I power it on, I fall in love with it all over again. I primarily use it for gaming, but sometimes I'll kick back and watch some movies on it, which again I find quite enjoyable. I suppose my only drawback is that the monitor has a refresh rate issue. Outside of this small setback, the monitor is superb for gaming, and the curve of the screen will immerse you even deeper into it. The colors and blacks are also great, thanks to the screen's technology. The screen's refresh rate and response time are also very apparent whilst gaming. All in all, I 100% recommend this monitor for those looking for a great time while gaming.

After having been using this 49" OLED monitor for about 3 or 4 months, I can say, it's absolutely fantastic. The colors are vibrant and the blacks are true black. The included free TV that Samsung includes (internet required) has tons of various options to choose from. The XBOX cloud gaming interface allows the user to enjoy games on Game Pass or games synced with your XBOX account. Using the PIP or PBP (Picture By Picture) allows for 2 sources on the screen at the same time. One thing I've found is, you cannot stream the Samsung TV or XBOX at the same time as a monitor. The speakers are adequate and sound nice, especially watching the TV or gaming. Comes with a handy remote, great for navigating the TV and the menus. The monitor also has Bluetooth, easy to connect wireless controllers for the XBOX feature.

Excellent quality, worthy of the price they ask for it, I don't regret buying it, I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a monitor with enough space to perform several functions at the same time.

I purchased both this OLED 49” model and the 100R and the OLED model hands down is better. The base takes up less space, the curve is less dramatic, and th picture, good god the picture is a sight to behold. I read a lot of opinions on the G9 OLED and was worried about the brightness. I feel this monitor is plenty bright. Text for productivity work is just fine. There is nothing I have seen that makes me worried. I am not sure why they wanted to add the apps and a remote but none of that really matters IMO. Games look amazing. This monitor takes your gaming to the next level.

This is a really nice monitor! PbP has been really useful. It’s definitely very large, but that’s to be expected of an ultrawide. Most of my gripes with it are the UI, which is pretty bad, and I’m hoping Samsung does an overhaul and/or an optimization pass on it. Motion is fluid and has a a strong black-depth level in the colors. If the UI gets updated/overhauled I’d consider bumping it up to a 5 stars. Note: I purchased mine Open-Box (Excellent).

Good lord what an upgrade! I was unsure if I would like the ultra wide and was ready to return if I did not. You don’t know what you are missing until to try this! Not only do I have a top notch gaming monitor with fantastic refresh speeds but room to pull up work related tasks across a 49 inch workspace! I love the crisp image and screen - you would not be able to pry this away from me now!

This is an amazing display. Deep blacks, high refresh rates, variable refresh rates, and vivid colors. Even without HDR. Everything was fine until one day it didnt want to work any more. About a year and 3 months into owning the monitor, it now just flashes white a few times then stays black. After doing my own troubleshooting and contacting Samsung support, the conclusion was that it needed repair. It's beyond the 1-year warranty by 3 months so of course repair is now out-of-pocket. What puts salt in the wound is that when support referred me to repair options, in-house was suggested. Thinking it was actual Samsung support, I agreed, but it turns out it was just Best Buy's Geek Squad. Not too confident that their repair path will be less than the cost of a brand new one. It is absolutely unacceptable that a $1000+ monitor requires repair this soon into ownership. I will attempt to fix this myself since its just a $1200 (what I paid at the time of purchase) now anyways.

Really awesome gaming monitor. The OLED colors are great and its super light weight and thin. 4 stars since it isn't perfect: you can't split the screen to have 2 inputs show at once, that's a downgrade from previous versions, and if you have another Samsung monitor in the room the remotes will conflict with each other. Price also plays a factor, though the Best Buy gift cards on pre-purchase helped me justify it :-) But really, just minor & very specific issues, everything is really great with it!

Solid 49" monitor that is an excellent upgrade from the non-OLED variant. However, given the price point, it might be best to wait for a 4K version of this, unless you're coming from something that is far inferior. Also, despite all the mixed reviews on the Tizen OS, it is not at all bothersome and I believe the added processor does positively impact image quality. At the very least, it offers more options for correcting and controlling the HDR image. Lastly, I welcome the added remote. Albeit small, it removes the annoyance of fiddling with the under-monitor controls to change settings. You can lean back and change them easily with the remote. Oh, and the issues people have been having with text legibility, I have not been having. Just use ClearType to calibrate the monitor. I am deducting one star because of its perceived value at this price point: should be a 4K display at this price point, I think.

At first this ultrawide frustrated me because it wanted SO bad to be a smart TV and not just an external monitor for my laptop which is why I bought it. However, once I figured everything out and got running smoothly this is one of the best tech purchases I've ever made. No more wrangling clunky external monitors and wires all over my desk, crystal clear resolution, and to be honest quite a statement piece; everyone that comes to visit comments on it when they see it. So yeah if you're considering and you have the $$, I say go for it!

If you’re looking for a 49” ultrawide and buying it for gaming I don’t think there is a better option as of right now. I am surprised at how much I have enjoyed this monitor for work, specifically since I use MacOS and text clarity/fringing on OLED screens is notoriously bad. I downloaded an app called “Better Display” that let me zoom in the resolution a bit so it’s readable and clear. I would compare the clarity on this setting to a 32” 1440p. For some, the text clarity will not be good enough as a primary daily driver as it is noticeable in comparison to a higher resolution display that is not OLED. It is certainly noticeable in comparison to my MacBook Pro and I had to also play with the monitor “sharpness” settings. However, I am fairly picky with my monitors and I’m really pleased with it. The colors are vibrant and excellent. I have not found any issues with brightness being too low or reflections being distracting, even during the daytime. And an underrated part is the 240hz refresh rate makes everything incredibly snappy and quick. I have tried a Dell 49” at 60hz and it felt way too slow in comparison. Would recommend for gaming and also work if you consider the tweaks/concessions I mentioned above. It’s not for everybody but really great for the right use case.

Its great, I love the monitor. The payment at store was smooth and was able to get in and out in 20 minutes. The display is bright. I can fit three browser at time to get my things done. The best part is the sount of the speakers installed, its surround sound and depending on whether you are running video from left aligned browser or right the sound comes from there. If you get bored of the monitor you have 130+ live tv channels plus I logged into all my streaming services to watch some stuff as I love the speaker and the dark blacks for movies.

Absolutely amazing. A beast of a monitor. I wish i had 2 more. The picture is exquisite. The colors are vibrate. Everyone walks into my office just in complete awe and jaws dropped and lots of questions about it and comments that they also want to get one.

I bought an Alienware 3423dwf, a g8, and this monitor at the same time The g9 blew them all away in terms of color, quality, and accurate blacks. Every game felt intimately more immersive. I have yet to encounter a game that won't support the 32:9 aspect ratio, although it does switch to 16:9 for in-game videos and menus at times. I thought this would be a problem for me, but it doesn't bother me in the slightest. The letter boxing is what it is.

I gotta say this is my first monitor buy and i hope will be the last, nothing bad all but great display, smooth color texture, with mindblowing setting that i cant even imagine that there are so many settings fetures to adjust your comfort on your display, can be sidetracked for a bit when messing with the settings i find it very handy really.
