Sounds great when watching movies or TV, but not so great when listening to music. Definitely does not have the same sounding bass from movie/tv to music. Besides that, it does sync to Samsung Smart Things via bluetooth, but sometimes shows itself as offline when its clearly on.

For a mediumish sized living room it really adds to the experience of watching anything. My first test with a movie blew me away! The addition of bass was astonishing. I was sold with in seconds and still am, 5 stars all the way. Here are my comments. The bass plug connection is on the right side, so it needs to be on the left side of your set up for best cable management. Wireless is not fully wireless. The rear speakers both require a connection to the “router” of the sound system I’d call it. And that said router requires a power connection. Now this portion of the sound system require no wires whatsoever to the main sound bar, and I think that is what they mean by wireless. So again, much more cable management then expected but not an issue for me. My sound bar suddenly shut down and wouldn’t turn back on in early march 2022. Was bought in early November 2021. Quick and fast tech service from Samsung and it’s working again today. 7 business days from when I shipped it out until it was returned and working. They provided the shipping label and finding the right box was tricky. So it was at no cost, luckily I was still in warranty. Not sure what it would of cost if it wasn’t. That’s my honest review. Still happy with it, missed it while it was gone.

The sound no way compares to my old Boise Cinemate but it's okay. I like to be able to feel the bass and like I'm there in the movies. It could be the size of my room or I'm such a Boise fan. But I think I going to go back to Boise

I am a Sonos guy but these deliver excellent sound and plenty of bottom. The one thing that I was looking forward to is not asking my spouse, "what did they just say". I saw many comment that this was their savior. Well, it does help somewhat will be my only comment. Even Sonos' speech enhancer setting isn't all that. When will they realize that the music is drowning out dialog? Also, it's rough when actors start whispering. LOL I guess these are problems that a lot of people may not have. I do however find the separate volume controls for each speaker very good. I also found out that although my computer's HDMI cable is the 'source' to the sound bar, it also connects to my cable box somehow. I guess that the HDMI cables network and communicate with each other to accomplish this. So, these are excellent speakers and I say to buy 'em. Also, in using my Samsung TV's apps, loaded the SiriusXM app and now I play my music from them as well. They are worth the money IMHO.

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-Q850A Soundbar and for your review. I am glad to hear you are enjoying your new soundbar, and we appreciate your feedback regarding the bass performance of your unit.
There are two adjustments that can be made to maximize bass from the soundbar and subwoofer:
1) Using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the level to -12 or between -6 to +6. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button in.
2) Adjust the bass control by pressing the SOUND CONTROL button (gear icon) on the remote control, then select BASS to increase the level. You can adjust the volume between -6 to +6 by using the Up/Down buttons.
For precise audio adjustments, you can use the 7-band frequency equalizer to optimize the sound for your room acoustics.

The sound now matches the Screen quality upping our Netflix game. Love the semi-wireless rear speaker. I mean that by yes they’re wireless but not completely as they connect to a modem that picked up the signal from the bar. Meaning, there’s no wires to run from the front of the room to the back of the room.

It was a major upgrade over our previous. Great sound so much so sometimes you can’t tell if the sound is outside or from the rear speakers. The SmartThings app and Alexa integration are perfect for us and once we upgrade our TV we will get the full Samsung experience.

First time adding a sound bar or additional speakers in the family room but perfect for movie watching for all ages! Easy to integrate the system with existing or new televisions but pairs very nicely with our new Samsung Qled. Functionality is tremendous and superior sound quality!
